Hello, Beth Norman, here with an Embossed Stickles card. What a fun way to use Stickles. I have about 20 different colours--they are so addictive. You will find this technique on the the Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine CD.
My Small Couple stamp is from Impression Obsession, one of our sponsors. They have a new challenge every two weeks and I am submitting this card for their "I'm Thankful For" challenge this week. Can you tell I'm thankful for my cuddle time?
I stamped out the Small Couple stamp and then masked the couple and created a sun. Next, I masked the sun and the couple and brayered Spectrum Kaleidacolor ink over to create the sky. Finally, I coloured in grass with my Prismacolor pencil crayons and OMS. I think the Embossed Stickles technique accented this image beautifully.
I encourage you to join in on our weekly challenges. If you don't have the CD, you can click the link above. It is one of my favourite CD's, and I'm sure it will be yours too.

I wish I could have gotten a better picture of this -- between the texture in the background, the sparkle, and the mirrored sunglasses, a good shot was almost impossible. Hopefully you get the idea between the two pictures. Cool Texture...cool Sparkle. Great Technique!
Try this technique this week, and post it to the egroup or send it to me to post. I would love to see what you do! If you do not have the CD, it is still available. It has 45 tutorials on it, and is $14.95. It may be purchased on the sidebar, or HERE,
Go get Sparkly!

I stamped the image directly over the the technique and colored it in with copics. Then since it looked too light, I swapped to a darker color and colored in the flowers and leaves darker. Then it was too dark and looked like a blob so I went back and lightened it with my blender pen. Added a little dots (stamps from itty bitty SU set) and voila! Ready to go.
For the shadow layer on the sentiment I just traced around the die that I used for the sentiment and hand cut it.
I hope that you enjoy!

For my example, I used Art Neko stamps on yellow cardstock. Although the original directions tell you to use white or neutral cardstock, there is nothing wrong with spicing things up a bit! I used shades of green chalk inks for the paint swatches, and Copic Markers to color the bird.
These gorgeous Art Neko stamps have been on the edge of my desk for a week and I have been dying to ink them up. The bamboo stamp in the background has two birds on it, under the sentiment, but I wanted to change things up a bit with the bamboo stamp (and I was dying to color that bird!). Just a reminder that TJ folks get free shipping for orders over $50.00 with the code TJ'sFREE50. There area ton of gorgeous stamps on sale at Art Neko, too.
I would love to see what you do with this technique! Whether you stamp on it directly or use it as a background, it is a wonderful way to add color. Play along and share on the egroup.

My stamp is from Stampin' Up! I inked up the stamp with Tempting Turquoise and then pounced on some black with a sponge. The dots on the scallops were created by using Liquid Pearls.
Stay tuned for some more samples of Watered Crayons from the Design Team coming up. Don't forget to send your sample to us through our Yahoo group.

This week, our technique is: Watered Crayons. This fun technique produces interesting and versatile art pieces. My piece, used as a background to highlight an awesom image from Rubbernecker Stamps, is the perfect splash of color to pull my card together. Additional stamps used are from Impression Obsession and Amuse.
C'mon!!! Join in the fun!

And now for a confession -- I should have done my card before today. But we have been very busy and are now away on vacation for a short time. So I brought products and card stock with me -- no Internet where we are but general and shared wifi in a community center. So here I am.

My sample uses gorgeous sea-themed stamps from Art Neko. The whole sheet of stamps is just stunning! I wanted to capture the feel of the sea with the green and blue tones. (Did you know that TJ members get free shipping right now on orders from Art Neko over $50.00? Just use the code: TJ'sFREE50).
Okay, let's see what you can do! Post your bands of color card to the TJ egroup for everyone to see. You may end up on the group homepage! You will have fun with this technique -- it is pretty, easy and makes a great background for almost every stamp. Enjoy!

Some folks think that a stamped card is just a card, right? There are those folks who think a "hand stamped card" isn't exciting or worth our time to make. But we KNOW BETTER don't we? Well, these two CDs should change those folks minds. :)
Personally, I am so excited about these CDs and I think these will be some "go to" CDs for me. So many wonderful ideas for different cards to make for family and friends!
I have made four cards for you. Two cards are from the Move It CD and two cards are from the Shape It CD.
My first card is from the Shape it CD -- and is called the Piano Card. Stamp credits are from Hero Arts and Uptown Rubber Stamps. My son-in-law is the music and youth pastor at his church. I just thought this was appropriate for him!
The stamp credits belong to Stacy Stamps, Stampin' Up, and Art Neko. Art Neko makes the verse on the inside. I embossed it in black to make it stand out from the bamboo. The verse goes like this -- "Drip...Drip...Drip...The garden's bamboo fountain Whispers its secrets. Listen." Can't you just see the little bunny being very quiet as he listens for the secret of the bamboo fountain?
I sure do think you will enjoy this blog hop today! By the time you hop along with us today - Pat will be able to begin mailing out the orders for the CDs. Make sure you get yours ordered today!
Now enjoy the rest of the Move It - Shape It Blog Hop!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a crafty day!

Each and every Monday, a new Technique of the Week will be announced right here!! All week long, you are encouraged to give it a whirl and share your artwork with all of us over on the yahoo group. Please remember that your post, on the yahoo group, must contain a photo of your art rather than just a link :)
