We are showcasing the newest addition to the Technique Junkies CD series called the Bodacious Background Stamp CD.

Do you have background stamps that do not see ink very often?  Do you have background stamps you "love" but can't seem to find a fun way to creatively use them?  Do you have art supplies in your craft area that you wish you knew how you could use them with your background stamps?  Well, today can be your lucky day!  Today you can see some gorgeous cards prepared for your viewing pleasure on this Blog Hop!  You do not want to miss any of these blogs!

This new Bodacious Background Stamp CD contains 30 ways to use your background stamps in fun and creative ways!  Learn how to color, stamp and transform your background stamped images.  The CD contains 20 brand new tutorials plus 10 techniques from the TJ archives.  All 30 tutorials are in step-by-step pdf format - compatible for Macs and PCs alike.  All the tutorials are printable to 8-1/2” x 11” paper.  This is the link for the table of contents for this lovely new CD -

It is available for order TODAY by using the dropdown on the side bar.  The CD will be shipped in less than 2 weeks!  This is the direct link that will tell you all about this new CD.

I have four samples for you to see today.  The techniques for these cards use techniques found on this Bodacious Background Stamp CD.  This first card uses the Distress Stains Direct technique.  The stamps are from Impression Obsession (the background stamp) and Technique Junkie Stamps (the flower and the verse).  You can find the flower on this web page: http://www.stampcamp.com/nature1.html, and the verse on this web page - http://www.stampcamp.com/wordsandsayings2.html.  The flower stamp was colored with marker directly to the rubberstamp.

The next two cards  use the Soft Sponged Photo Stamp technique.  All of the stamps are Technique Junkie stamps.  http://www.stampcamp.com/bigstamps17.html, http://www.stampcamp.com/bigstamps8.html, http://www.stampcamp.com/wordsandsayings2.html, and http://www.stampcamp.com/quotationsets2.html.

This last card uses the Whitewashed Gelatos technique and this was quite the fun technique to use!  I love the results!  The stamps are from Technique Junkie Stamps (background) http://www.stampcamp.com/bigstamps30.html and Stampin' Up (flower). A curved section of "bling" is my accent!

Did you have a favorite card of the four cards?  Let me know if you would please?   I will write down your names if you comment and send your one favorite card to you!  I will do this on Thursday, May 1. I must have your email address in order to contact you for your address.  Please leave it like this in your comment - PrettyStamper at junkie dot net. Then you true email address is not easy to hack. Shaped Stencils

Happy Sunday...Tricia here with your technique of the week!

This week's technique is SHAPED STENCILS.  I love creating projects with this technique.  I like choosing the perfect shape to go with the stencil I want to use.

I cut a cog out with my Silhouette Cameo.  I used  my new cog stencil.  I just love Steampunk.

I hope you will join us this week!!

Card in a Box

I joined in a Mingle in the Oriental Stamp Art Yahoo group recently for Different kinds of folds cards. One of our Sponsors at Technique Junkies is About Art Accents- and I used a newly released stamp plate for Spring and made a Card in a Box.

Here are the sides of this card:
And side 2:
And here is the back:

I used a number of Technique Junkies techniques on this card, including Embossed Wax Paper Resist, Salt and Pepper and Simple Sumi (dragonflies).  I stamped the images and colored some using Copics, others (tulips) were watercolored.

What is really neat with these cards, is that they fold down flat to put in an envelope to mail.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Male and Female Aged Text Boards

Hi there, Hetty here with one of the
great techniques from the April/May 2014 TJ Newsletter.
As a design team member we get a number
of techniques assigned to do for the newsletter,
so that always leaves some we did not do.
I love to try all the techniques and I must
say this is one of my favourites from this newsletter:
Aged Text Boards.

I had somuch fun making these cards.
I made a male and a female version,
so you see this technique is absolute
multifunctional.
For both cards I have used
a background from a very old magazine
that I once bought on a flee market with using
it for cards in my mind. This technique
is just perfect for it.

All the stamps you see here are
from my Stampers Anonymous/ Tim Holtz collection.
Hope I have inspired you to give this technique
a try.You won't regret it.
Have a creative day!

Folding Screen Card

From the Shape It CD!

The above photo shows the card closed. The stamp used is from Club Scrap. The bamboo is cut with my Cricut using the Pagoda Cartridge. One of my most favorite cartridges!

This photo shows the card open. Isn't it fun? I so enjoyed making this card. It is a bit different than most, and I love that about it! The stamps used are from Technique Junkie Stamps, Inkadinkado and once again I used my Pagoda cartridge for the added extras. The punch at the top is from Martha Stewart and the bottom punch is from Stampin Up (the ticket punch.)
Thanks for looking. I will see you back here soon.

Hi Junkies, Tricia here with this week's try that technique "Pearly Gelatos Wash".

Over Stamped Bands by Judy Jackson

This is Judy Jackson writing to you today.  Unfortunately, I do not have something to show from the Technique of the Week.  I am out of town and will not be able to complete anything with the Technique of the Week.  I do have two cards for you using the Over Stamped Bands from December 2013 newsletter.  Both cards use all Technique Junkie stamps - http://www.stampcamp.com/.

This is a wonderfully easy technique that give you wonderful results!  I hope you will try it soon!

Have a wonderfully creative day.

Shaped Stencils

Hi folks!  How is your week going?  Is the weather warming up, or is it turning cold again like it is here in southern Ontario, Canada.  Can you believe we are expecting flurries?  Oh my, when is this winter going to end?

Today I have Shaped Stencils from the current issue of the Newsletter.  My stencil is from Dreamweaver, and my die is from Impression Obsession.  Sentiment is Stampn' Up!

The stencil adds such a lovely touch, wouldn't you agree? Stencils are certainly the rage today.

Thank you for stopping by.

Designer Paper Coasters

What a fun, fast and lovely gift to make for someone for any occasion! Not only are they pretty, they are useful and can be personalized to match any décor.

The above photo shows the coasters packaged in a bow and ready to give to my daughter....just because!

The above photo shows each individual coaster. My daughter loves black and white so I know she will love these and put them to good use.

I will definitely be making more of these and you should make some too! Surely there is someone you know that needs a little gift!
See you soon,
Jackie K

Pearly Gelatos Wash: Passover Wishes

Hi Hetty here,

and I have been playing with my gelatos.
It is one of the techniques in the new April/ May
newsletter and is called Pearly Gelatos Wash.
It is one of those super easy techniques.
In a jiffy you have all these pearly backgrounds ready
for making great backgrounds for your cards. It is always
a pity you do not see the glittery background on screen.
You can use them plain like this. Or emboss them.
Or you can use those wonderful Technique Junkies
stamp backgrounds togive them more depth.

Another option is to stamp them first and then
use one of your embossing plates.

Enough ideas?

Here is one of my finished cards.
As Passover is near, I needed
some new cards for the occasion.

The sentiment is SU! and the
Passover plate is frommu unknown stash.

The decoration with the flowers and the ribbon
finish the card to give it a Spring feeling.

If you want to see what happened to the other 4 backgrounds,
please take a look at my Craftchaos Blog.

Thanks for looking
and wishing all my Jewish stamp friends a
and have a creative day!

Diagonal Images

Jackie K Here with Diagonal Images from the  Feb/Mar issue.

This is a really fun technique once you choose the correct stamps. These stamps are from Studio G except for the scroll at the bottom which is from Magenta. I often pick up some cute Studio G stamps at Wal-Mart or Michaels for only $!. I usually use them as accents but in this case they worked like a dream for this technique.
I will be back in a few days with the TOTW. In the meantime, give this and the current TOTW a try and post your creations to the yahoo group.
I hope the weather is better for those of you in the colder climates. Here in the desert, the Summer is coming too soon!
Happy Crafting!

Technique of The Week - Layered Portions

Happy Sunday Junkies, Tricia here with this weeks Technique of the Week.

The April edition is out and it is FABULOUS...thanks Pat!

The technique of the week is Layered Portions.  This is sooo easy and fun to do ...hope you will join the design team and show off your creations!

I did my project with a little twist.  My rose is actually a digi stamp from Aurora Wings. I colored it with copics.  The french script is a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.  The sentiment is from Gina K Designs (I screwed it up so I re-stamped and mounted it.

This is actually not a card, I am going to frame it and give it to my friends' mom.

I hope you have a great day!

Aged Text Boards

Hello folks.  Today I'm sharing my card from the April issue of the Newsletter.  This technique is called Aged Text Boards, and is one of my favourite techniques.  I didn't have any pages from a book to use for this technique so I went to the library and bought a book for 50 cents from their sale table.  I'll bet your library does the same thing and recommend you check it out.  Can't beat the price!

I don't think it's a secret that I love sunflowers and couldn't resist using my image from Impression Obsession, one of our sponsors.

I surrounded my image with a die from My Favorite Things.

Hope you have a great day!
