I used the stamp above (SD551, Learning to
Fly), on both the watercolor and Gelato cards on the
right. I simply stamped the sentiment and cut the words into
individual pieces to create two new phrases.
One more way to get more from your collage stamps is
to use the individual images from the collage as single
stamps. For instance, the large balloon used in the collage
stamp on the right could easily be used as a single stamp. Just
stamp the collage and cut the individual image out to use on your

Collage stamps are beautiful - but did
you with using them sometimes? In this issue of
Inkspirations, I show you 4 ways to color them creatively. I am
using the same stamp so you can see just how different the various
methods make the image look.
One Collage Stamp - 4 Ways
The first way to use collage stamps is called Deconstructed
To deconstruct them, we are using the
different images in the stamp, colored separately, as
"popped" elements on the final piece.
In the picture above, I have stamped the
image several times. One of the images was kept intact
and colored. The other stamped pieces were colored and cut
apart. Pop dots were added to the back of the individual
elements, and they were placed over the base image.
The third idea for using collage stamps is the
simplest. It just involves coloring the image with your favorite
For the image on the left, I used
Peerless Watercolors. Note that the sale price on Peerless
Watercolors with the 10% discount will be maintained on my site
until the end of the month.
Finally, our last way to use collage stamps is
to use Gelatos. Simply stamp the collage image with StazOn,
and color the image roughly with a generous amount of Gelato color.
Use a dabber to move the colors around, back and forth over
the image, pushing the colors out to the sides.
To finish the card, a Gel pen was used to highlight
different areas on the collage stamp. Note that Gelatos are still
on sale on my site also.
