Dragonfly Collage

Dreaming with Dragonflies

Our first piece uses the Dragonfly Collage with Art Anthologypaints, sprays and stencils.

To color the image, I used Art Anthology Buttercream Sorbet Paint on the dragonflies, then painted over them with Baby Blue Eyes Sorbet paint to add depth to the images.  The butterflies were painted next with Art Anthology Vegas Gold Sorbet.
Mi Bella Sorbet Paint
was then painted on the outer edges of the butterffly wings, along with the center of each of the two butterflies. Since Art Anthology paints are very fast drying, they can either be air dried, or dried with a heat tool.

To add color to the background, the piece was sprayed with 3 colors of Art Anthology Colorations sprays. First, Timeless was sprayed randomly, then Waimea Beay, and finally, Granny Smith Colorations was sprayed on the remainder of the background.  Again, the piece was dried with a heat tool before the final step.

The word DREAM was added using the Art Anthology Soliloquy Stencil with Lava Stone Effects Paint.  This paint is slightly thicker than the sorbets, and has a grainy texture, which makes it ideal for stippling through stencils.  To add the paint, stipple a stiff bristled brush straight up and down through the stencil until the word is covered with paint. This layer can be dried with a heat tool and is set when the word changes from glossy to matte (the Sorbets will remain glossy).

Trim and finish as desired.

More Dragonflies to love...

This piece was colored with the same way as above, but with different colors.

On this example, the dragonflies and butterflies were colored with Copic markers, and then painted over with Splashed Sorbet Clear Coat. Colorations Sprays were then sprayed over the piece.
I hope you are a little inkspired by today's issue. See you next week!
Sincerely,

Pat Huntoon

You did a fabulous job with this stamp. Those colours are so rich. These turned out the way I envisioned they should when I saw the stamp.
