Seahorse Set

Hi, fellow Junkies!! Ro here today!

I've been happily playing with the new June releases, and Seahorse Set of 4 (SS074) is what I have to feature for you today. Remember, the June stamps are on special until only June 8. You can save 15% (automatically applied at checkout) on all the new releases. If you'd like to save 10% off the rest of your purchases at any time throughout the month, simply enter the code below:
The first card is done on kraft cardstock with white embossing powder.
After embossing the images, I flicked some Kuretake watercolors and black Wink of Stella over the panel. This was then mounted to a colored panel and attached to the kraft card base.

The next card features another new product: Nuvo Glitter Markers. There are three fun sets called Northern Lights, Ember Glow and Midnight Shadows. I used pens from the Midnight Shadows and Ember Glow collections for this card.

For the background, I stamped Sudsy Stuff (S747), another June release, using Memento Ink (Sky Blue). I then colored directly onto the seahorse and shell stamps with the markers and stamped them onto the panel. I added “sand” using all three colors from Ember Glow. That panel was trimmed down and mounted on a black piece of cardstock, which was then attached to a white card base.

I absolutely love the new releases for June. If you'd like to see all the new releases, simply follow this link.

Hope you have been intrigued to try these new products!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

Dreams of a Watercolored Mermaid

The Crafty Nurse "swimming" by to share some mid-week inspiration using stamps from the Technique Junkies June release. You still have a few days to receive 15% percent off this great release over at the Technique Junkies store.

The background for my card is from Sensational Stencils CD called Distress Stain Dip.  I changed it up to use Distress Paint instead of stains in the colors Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon and Wild Honey.  I added a wave texture using a Tim Holtz Stencil then added additional distress ink around the edges.

For the focal image, I stamped "Mermaid on Rock" onto 140lb. watercolor paper with Archival Ink.  I colored my mermaid using Windsor Newton Watercolor markers and added highlights with prismacolor pencils.  Adding pencils over watercolor is a great way to add depth to your coloring.
