Grumpy Grady Throws a Punch

Our Inside Out: Twisted Encouragements (set of 10) is delightfully snarky! Today I used one of the sentiment pairings with the Grumpy Grady stamp. The background is the Grunge Dots Stencil from ACLD. This card is perfect for someone who is experiencing anger or frustration with others in their lives...just to lighten things up. The stamps are here:

Concrete Love

 Hello Junkies!

Do you ever had an idea bouncing around in your head and can't wait to get it out on paper?   I used the mini ink spots to ink up the Concrete Texture background stamp.  It works out perfectly to fit five colors evenly across the image.  I love the subtle rainbow that it creates.   It is just full of texture!!  I finished the card off with a love die.   I used both the negative and the positive to add a sentiment.  Do you like the Hello or the Love version better?

Paint Splash Fun

Hello Crafty Friends!!

Today I am showcasing a variety of TJ stamps with a focus on the Paint Splashes stamp set which is apart of the August Release!!

The Paint Splashes stamp depicts 3 different sizes of paint splashes. I randomly stamped them in 4 different Distress Oxide colors. I then stamped the Falling Checks in black ink on top of the background I began creating. I pulled out a CTMH frame die with scalloped edges and decided green would be a fun colored card stock to use. I added a few staples to the scalloped frame.

I decided to add a few owls from the You are a Hoot stamp set. I colored the owls using Spectrum Noir Tri Blend markers. I added some flair using a white gel pen and in some instances bitty sparkles.

I stamped the sentiments in black ink, fussy cut and popped them up with 3-D foam tape in front of the owls. The sentiments are from the Simple Sentiments stamp set.

TJ Inkspirations: Clean and Simple Coffee Card

Clean and Simple!

I never thought I had much competition as a coffee junkie - having my first cup is a necessity before I can make decisions or start "life-ing." This past weekend I met my match - my own sister! I never realized how deep the genetic need for caffeine is...therefore, this card will be going to her!

The card in the video tutorial below is clean and simple - a no-layer card. (The card in the picture above has more layers). I have two small kits for you today, too, which offers these products at a discount. The kits may be found HERE.

Our Tradeshow schedule for the remainder of the year is below the video.

We hope to see you at one of these shows.

Rescued - My Favorite Breed

Deb here to bring you another project using an August Release stamp .  This stamp - My Favorite Breed - shares an important message . There are many animals at Rescue Organizations and Adoption Centers who are patiently waiting for a forever home . Our current cat, Pixie is a rescue animal . And Anna ( Andromeda Cassini ) was our prior sweet kitty that I had for 14 years., also a rescue . This card is a tribute to our sweet Anna .

I have had this pet leash paper for many, many years !! I almost gave it away multiple times but always ended up keeping it . That is one of the reasons I have so many craft supplies ..You invariably need something right after you get rid of it !! So, I keep just about everything .. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it !!!

  • I stamped the My Favorite Breed  image on a piece of golden cardstock with Lady Bug, Teal Zeal and Tuxedo Black Memento Dew Drops .
  • A Pierced Chain Circle Die was used to cut out the stamped image .
  • The pet leash paper was cut to fit on a 5x7 Kraft card base . I cut it so it was centered on the card  ( my OCD always kicks in while I am card-making ) .
  • I still had the tag from Anna's collar and tied it to the die-cut circle .
  • The completed circle was popped up on the front of the card with foam tabs.

I'm still making slow but steady progress with the destashing/decluttering in my craft room . I can even sit at my desk now and create . And believe me, THAT is an accomplishment.. I do have lots more to do in there but I feel a teeny sense of relief.. It was so nice to sit at my desk with my OTT light and create this card . I hope you like it as much as I do. Don't tell Pixie about it or she will want one too  She is a bit of a princess !!

Stay cool wherever you are , stay creative and Happy Stamping !!

Rescued Is My Favorite Breed

 Hello Technique Junkie friends,

Today I’m using the just released My Favorite Breed stamp with multiple ways to create the background. In the examples shown below I used a scallop punch since it was the perfect size for this stamp. Check your punches and dies - you might have the right size too.

1) This paw print background was created using silver foil card stock (mirror card stock) and paw print embossing folder. It looks cool don’t you think?

2) The card with the gold paws on white was made using gold transfer foil and Paws stencil

3) The ever so handy Paws stencil gets used a lot in my craft room.  I used the stencil and orange distress oxide ink on a finger dauber to create this background.

4) On the last card I used some paw print paper I had in my stash.

Tip #1: If you have a single paw print rubber stamp you could use it to stamp all over a card front to create your background. Use one color or many.

Tip#2: If you have the TJ Paw Prints background stamp then of course that would work perfectly on these cards.

Tip#3: If you have a paw print embossing folder - rub ink from your ink pad on one side of it, add card stock carefully between the embossing folder, then run through your embossing machine. Now your paw prints have a little color and it makes a nice background for your card.

Idea: The My favorite breed stamp is perfect for animal lovers and animal rescues.  Did you know there are dog/cat animal rescues that like to receive handmade cards?  Reach out and ask them. I’ve donated dozens and dozens over the years to Three Sisters Pet Rescue in Cincinnati, Ohio. They use them for fundraising and Technique Junkies has the perfect stamps for rescue cards. I’ll list the ones I love below and if you like to watch videos I have one featuring many animal rescue card ideas @artcardswithaj

Loyal Friend

 Hi Junkies!  (Chris Here)

Check out the detail on this stamp.  You can almost see the dog hair on your clothes!  I joke, but the detail is super amazing.   I not-so-secretly hope that she comes out with a lab version of this stamp.  It was a must have to add to my collection.. but we all know I can't resist a dog stamp.
