Hello TJ'ers!! Kathie McGuire here, bringing you a recycling project on your stamping Saturday.
This is an eyeglass case box I recycled into a gift box. I made the peach colored paper using the Bomber Jacket technique from the TJ CD#7. I love the look and feel of the Bomber Jacket technique because it can be used on any color or kind of cardstock. Start with a plain piece of paper and end up with a paper that looks like soft, worn leather in any color!! It's fabulous.
This box was plain brown, but had a manusfacturer's name printed on the top of it. I punched a strip of the Bomber Jacket paper with a Martha Stewart punch and added it to the sides, then also covered the top of the box with a strip of the paper to cover up the printing. On top of that is a piece of drywall tape and a couple of gems I purchased at a local mill ends fabric store. See the feet? Another recycled item....they are 4 plastic beads from an old necklace!
I hope you've enjoyed my little recycling project; and remember, it's Saturday.....so go make something!!
Kathie
