Design Challenge

I have enjoyed this challenge. I am away for a while so I created some cards to share while I am away and uploaded them to my computer -- it came along on vacation too. This card uses four different techniques. The flowers in the vase are colored with Smooch Inks with the Watercolor Smoosh technique. The six squares were created with Textured Spectrum, Burnished Background, and Pigment Scrunch. I sprayed Glimmer Spray over the base card. Stamp credits - Stampin' Up.

Animal Spots - Giraffe

Anyone who knows me know that I love a good giraffe image. Being 5'10" I have always identified with them. And with the Animal Spots Technique from the February 2010 issue of the TJ Newsletter, I can't stop making giraffe cards!


Today's card uses a Lost Coast Stamps Image over giraffe spots. Easy Peezy! The words are from Stampin' Up! (I bought a set of sayings in French and I am a little addicted to them!).

Marker Wash and Hero Arts

This is one of my very favorite TJ techniques:  Marker Wash from the Oct/Nov 2007 newsletter.  I was able to use one of my new Hero Arts floral cling images, too. That's a Hero Arts background script stamped over the flower.  Sentiment is also from Hero Arts. Gold Stickles accent the flower's center. (Click for close-up details.)

Pierced Patterns : Kind Thoughts

Glassy Embossing Valentine

This Valentine uses a couple of TJ techniques. The Cuttlebug layer with the candy hearts uses the Glassy Embossing technique from the current February newsletter. The heart was cut from a scrap of card stock that was created with the Antique Glimmers technique. I then sponged some ink over the top of the tiny embossed hearts. I used two other heart punches to add layers and dimensions. I used punches, die cuts, and eyelets to add the other embellishments.

French Shadowbox Card

The Shadowbox Card technique was featured as an online Bonus technique in the October/November '09 newsletter. I think that many of you may have been intimidated by the construction aspect of this card. Let me tell you - it is so easy! Once you figure it out, you will become addicted to making them.

All the stamps I used for my card are from Oxford Impressions' Marie Antoinette and Le Beau Monde stamp collections. The images were all stamped on smooth white cardstock from Paper Temptress using Archival black ink, and colored with Distress inks and a water pen (I am not big on coloring, so this was a fun challenge for me!). I felt like it needed a little more sparkle, so I edged the window and the outside of the card with glitter.

I hope that this will encourage you all to try this fun and versatile card!

Stringing you Along with Altered Designer Paper

I'm in love with my new Tim Holtz Urban Tatoo stamp from Croppinsville. When I clicked on "purchase" it said this stamp was out of stock. I e-mailed Croppinsville to ask if they had any "behind the scenes" and I got a response from Allie immediately, telling me that she did. Allie even asked me if I wanted any of the Tim Holtz stamps in particular because she was off to CHA. How sweet of her! This was my first purchase with Croppinsville, and it certainly won't be my last.

My card uses two techniques: Altered Designer Paper from April 2009 (one of my favourites) and Stringing You Along from February 2009.
