Polished Vellum Flower by Ann

Ann Clack here with a polished vellum flower!  An oldie but goodie technique from the April 05 newsletter.This card is for a friend's 50th birthday.  I asked her Sister-in-law if they were using any particular colors for the party.....pink and black!  So....this was my creation.  I backed the vellum flower with some flower punch outs so that it would pop away from the card.  The butterfly is also popped out to look more 3-D.  I've always loved Markie's mom (Faith) and her dots on black so I had to use on this card!  Enjoy!

Try That Technique

Hi, it's Beth here, with TRY THAT TECHNIQUE and this week Diana Enns and I challenge you to try the METALIC EXPLOSION from August 2006.

I was thrilled with how this technique turned out; it reminds me of copper.

Chinese New Year is coming upon us (February), so I continue working on cards for the celebration. Frankly, I'm quite tired of working on my cards as Donnie is walking out the door for our supper at Tang's with 16 of our friends. Can anyone relate with me?

My image is from I Brake for Stamps. I found coordinating embellishments at Walmart. Holy smokes, Canada is finally getting in some decent scrapbook products and at a very low cost. I had no idea.

Stained Glass Window Hanging

Hello TJ friends from Kathie McGuire on your stamping Saturday!

Remember Milk Paint? It's an oldie from 12/05 that I use on anything that I want to look like wood. On this project, I made a stain glass window hanging from a DRS Designs stamp and Art Institute Glitter products. I stamped the image onto acetate with Jet Black Staz On and glittered it from the backside.

I wanted my stained glass piece to hang in a window (see the sky and clouds behind it?) and a wood frame around the window made my piece complete!

Try That Technique: Top Latch Card

Hey, it's Beth here and it's Try That Technique Thursday already. This week Diana and I challenged each other to do the Top Latch Card from the June 2008 issue.

Just like back in 2008 when I created two cards for the newsletter, I pulled out my brayer. I don't know why, but my brayer whispers to me when I make this style of card.

Hetty goes cute

Hello everyone!

Today I have some real cute cards for you with stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy. This company has digital and clear stamps. Cute ones and lot's of flowers, texts and others.

 

Recently I have been showing some iris folding cards and got a lot of comments and questions, so here I have another one for you with a pattern (click on it and save it to your computer).

Have you never tried irisfolding? Please have a look at the tutorial.

When you don't like the tiny pattern, or when you are not so good with little things: enlarge the pattern and use bigger strips for folding. It is also a great way to try and figure it out for the first time.

But when you did a try run, you will notice that  it is quite easy and you do not need anything special for it. If you have any questions feel free to mail me for help.

Both cards are made with the set: Feeling Fruity Cocoa Clear Stamp set.

 On the first card I replaced the strawberry of the stamp with the irisfolded strawberry. In the card below I did the strawberry separate and also used the shape that came out of the frame and used the cutllebug highlight technique (Oct 08) on it as well as on the leave..

Pulled Glimmers meets Scene Silhouettes by Judy Jackson

I love making ATCs. They are just fun to make. I also enjoy being able to just quickly take an ATC that I have made and add it to the front of a card.

I created the Pulled Glimmers background and this ATC just went perfectly with the colors I used. I added the lovely green ad gold trimmed ribbons giving the card a soft touch -- yet not distracting from the masculine image and theme. The gold edging certainly brings out the glimmer shine in the background. I do realize it is past Father's Day but i made this card before Father's Day and am only getting it uploaded the TJ blog. You could certainly add a birthday greeting.

Mono Die Baby by Ann Clack

Ann Clack here!  This week has been very crazy but my daughter-in-law's sister's baby shower was a welcome relief.  I made this card for her.  The colors that she has chosen to be her most favorite for the little girl (due in about three weeks) is mostly brown with pink highlights.  The animal she likes is butterflies.  So, I quickly threw this together and she really loved it.  It uses the mono die technique from the February 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie newsletter.  I hope you enjoy it as well.  In retrospect, I could have used a few more dies but I was just out of time!
