Faux Encaustic Wax Technique

I know this photo looks a bit odd with the black all around it, but I had to do it so the image would show up as close to real life as possible. Without the black, you cannot see the embossed B/G or read the sentiment. OK enough of all that.

This is the most fun technique! I like it because there is such an element of surprise. You never quite know what i will look like until you remove the iron. Speaking about the iron. Many of you might hesitate to try this technique because you don't have a iron without holes. Just cover the iron with heavy duty foil, a few layers and you are all set to go. Before you start press the iron down on a towel to take all the wrinkles out of the foil.

For this card I  used my Cricut to cut out the flowers and stem. This was an experiment as I thought the melted crayon might crumble under the pressure. Thankfully I was wrong! The sentiment is from Jodey Posey. This card was great fun to make and a joy to my friend whom I sent it to.

Foiled and Glittered Snow Flakes by Judy Jackson

Snow is so pretty when it is fresh and clean.  It is not fun to drive on however, nor is it fun to remove from driveways or roads.  So I would prefer to enjoy snow only in pictures now.

To create this card, I used an embossing folder with snow flakes, a retired brass stencil, and The Let is Snow rubber stamp was purchased recently but I can't remember which company made it.  I am sitting in Florida as I write this post and my stamp isn't with me. :( 

And this technique on the Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine CD is perfect for snow cards!

If you still have snow on the ground, I hope it is pretty for you. Per has it will give you a "snowy craft day!"

Ann here with more distress!

A couple of weeks ago I shared a card made for an upcoming class I'm teaching on Distress pads, refills, and stains.  Here is the second card that they will be making in their class. 

It uses Distress Ink Watercoloring as well as Distress Spritzing.  I LOVE that Distress spritzing technique.  So easy with a great look!

Hero Arts stamp was color with the refills and glittered for some extra punch.  The MS butterfly just has three dabs of gold glitter down the middle.  The ribbon is quite gold and got really faded out on the picture.  I was at the store dropping off the samples when I realized that I hadn't taken pictures of the cards.  Phone cameras aren't that good! 

Holly Brown: Sanded Core'dinations Purple Flowers

Hi folks!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this clean and simple card using the Sanded Core'dinations technique from the 4-10 issue.  I didn't want to cover up any of the gorgeous flowers so I simply put some little pearls in the centers of the sanded flowers and added a sentiment to the open space at the top.  The supplies on this card come from Classy Cards 'n Such, one of our wonderful TJ vendors.  Be sure to use the special code in your current issue when you go shopping at Classy Cards 'n Such.  You can find lots of supplies that are perfect for many of our TJ techniques there.   Have a great weekend!

Inked Resist

Good morning friends. Beth Norman here.   How is your week so far?  So far my week is going quick.  Friday, here I come--LOL.  By now you may recognize that I love to use bright colours on my cards.  This Inked Resist cards is one of my favourites.  In fact, I made 10 of these babies and gave them away as a gift set.  My main image is one of the first stamps I ever bought and is from Stampington and Co  My sentiment is SU, as the majority I have on hand.  Thank you for stopping by.  Don't forget to peak back at what our Design Team has done for you.

Inked Resist
