Hi folks, Beth Norman here with this week's Technique of the Week--Triple Embossing.  Just when you think there nothing exciting to do with your embossing machine, Pat comes out with a new technique.  Triple Embossing is a great technique that works on larger backgrounds.  My background is 5" x 5".

I inked up my stamp from Impression Obsession and did the Marker Watercoloring technique as well.  You will find this technique in the June 2008 issue.

Pressed Stains Flower

My technique today is Pressed Stains.  No........I'm not ironing!!  Pressed Stains is a super fun technique from the most recent issue of the Technique Junkie newsletter.  I had a friend over to stamp on Friday.........Laura and I had a lot of fun.  She brought a hostess stamp set from SU and we colored up the Flower with copics.  Then we made the backgrounds to match the flowers.  I had one flower already colored up from the week before and had put a blue background around it.  The backgrounds we had made didn't have any blue and it looked really funny with them.  So......I made another background using a little blue and it was just perfect.  I love how every background is just a little different.  I hope you enjoy!  I included all four....I just couldn't decide which one I wanted to do the most!  Sorry...the scan was a little off.  The Hero Arts sentiment stamp had stamped the edge under the words and I thought it looked like it was supposed to be there so I stamped three more like it.

Holly Brown: Stencil Collage Pink Butterflies

Howdy Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  Have you been playing in the Technique of the Week challenges? This week we focused on the Stenciled Collage technique from the current issue (June/July 2013).  I decided to play with some pink colors on this beautiful butterfly collage stamp from I Brake for Stamps.

When I developed this technique, I had these kinds of collage stamps in mind.  Sometimes I don't feel like spending four hours coloring a collage, so I came up with this fun and quick and easy way to add color to the collage.  I hope you enjoy this card and play along with us on the Technique Junkies Yahoo group!  :-)  Have a wonderful weekend!

Technique of the Week - Stencil Collage by Judy Jackson

If you are a regular follower of this Technique Junkie Design Team blog, then you may remember  that I posted a card for our daughter who WAS expecting a new baby girl soon.  We are with her and her little family now -- all the way in Romania.  I  was unable to get a different card done for this blog before we left. 

I really do like this technique. It gives an interesting dimension to a collage stamp with the stencil  you choose. This focal image stamp is from Art Neko and the verse is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

And now -- Naomi Abigail! She weighed 8 pounds and was 21 3/4 inches long!  And she is  a delight.

Pressed Stains

Hi junkies, Tricia here.  I absolutely love this stamp from I Brake For Stamps.  I used my no line coloring technique.  I just love the look.  I seem to be better with flowers as they are forgiving.  I colored the image with copics.  

The technique is from this months newsletter called pressed stains.  I used the same distress stain to color my white ribbon with purple polka dots to match my background.

Stencil Collage Day Two

Hello again everyone, It's Jackie K here with my second Technique of the Week Stencil Collage card.

 

Once again I have used designer paper for the background. I also used green and white acrylic paint and a foam dauber for the stencil. I just love this bamboo stencil from Delta. As you see this is quite a variation from my first example, which is what makes this technique so much fun! The koi stamp is from Art Neko of course...where else would you go for Asian stamps? I don't know who makes that Asian symbol paper punch that I have used in the corner.

Technique of the Week: Stencil Collage

Hello, it's Jackie K here and it's my privilege to introduce the Technique of the Week

Stencil Collage

These cards come together fast and are really fun . The variations are endless, and it's been my experience that they come out great every time!

I have used designer paper to stencil and stamp over but you can design your background paper with any technique you like. That's one of the things that makes this technique so versatile.

I have used a daisy stencil from Plaid and I'm sure you recognize the daisy stamp from Penny Black. The flourish is from Magenta.

When you read the technique, you will see that you have many options as to what to use with the stencils. I tried quite a few things and I was happiest with white acrylic paint and a foam dauber. I'm quite certain you will find something out of your array of inks and other products to get the desired  effect that is pleasing to you.

So give it a go and don't forget to post your creations to the Yahoo group so we can all enjoy them.
