Holly Brown: Quilted Origami Inchie Album

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today and I'm sharing this fun Origami Inchie Album that I created for Pat to use in her booth at the trade shows.  You will find this technique on the 3D and Fun Folds CD, and it is really quick and easy to make.  You can either stamp and cut images to go on the pages or you can insert pictures of your family and friends.  As you can see in the picture below, I went with some quilted image stamps and colored them in shades of blue and green to match my paper.

This folds up into the cute little bundle you see in the first picture.  Isn't that a fun project?  I hope you try this one out - you'll love it!

Copic Stencils

Hello Junkies,

Tricia here.  I needed to make some manly birthday cards for my hubby and a good friend of mine.  I decided to start looking for coloring pages on the internet of cars I know they like. 

This card is done with the out of the box and copic stencil techniques.  I used some distress inks to make the yellowish-orange around the outside which I love how it turned out.

Handmade paper by Ann

Well........sometimes life really gets in the way of creating!! Ann Clack here with a post that was supposed to be on Saturday but here it is Tuesday.  Better late than never!!

This is a Handmade Paper technique from the most recent Technique Junkie newsletter.  I had the paper prepared Friday night but it just was not drying.  Several days later there was still a moist spot so I hit it with the heat gun to speed it up. 

I used distress inks to highlight the folder.  I happen to have a large box of stamps that I've been keeping for YEARS so I dug out some that matched the color scheme.  Hope you enjoy!!

Faux Handmade Paper

This is a relatively easy technique -- but a word of advice.  Your material for the Faux Handmade paper needs to really wet as you begin.  Not so wet it falls apart but  wet or the layers may not stick together.  The focal image is actually an ATC that I created for a swap and I kept one for myself.   I chose ink colors for the Faux Handmade Paper that matched the ATC.  It worked well together!

Technique of the Week; Faux Handmade Paper!

Hi all, Jackie K here with two examples of the Faux Handmade Paper Technique

which is the Technique of the Week.

What fun this technique is!  I will never look at my toilet paper in the same way again, LOL! It just amazed me that these could come out so well. If you haven't tried this technique yet, please give it a try and post your results to the yahoo group for all of us to enjoy.

This first card uses a Cuttlebug embossing folder with an Asian theme and the latern stamp is from Rubber Stampede. This card is much nicer IRL and the texture of the paper after embossing is awesome.

This card uses the Paisley embossing folder from Cuttlebug, the Spellbinder paisley die cut set, and the Happy Birthday stamp is from Inkadinkado.

This will be my last post for awhile as I left yesterday afternoon for Australia. I will be gone for two months visiting my best friend. See you when I get back. I will be keeping up with all the news and beautiful art as I am bringing my IPad. I can never be without my IPad!

Stained Embossing-Butterfly

Hi TJers! Kathie McGuire here today to share a card I made using the Stained Embossing technique. Admittedly, this is my first try doing it. I am so happy I tried it because it's really stunning, yet very quick to do. I used a Tim Holtz woodgrain folder--I thought it would pair well with the Stampscapes butterfly. The butterfly is also an old TJ technique called Expressionistic Watercolor Bleed. Another quick technique which yields dramatic results. Technique of the Week

Good Morning Ladies,
Nancy Dawson here with a sample of this week's technique, Stained Embossed Card. This was featured in the June/July 2013 newsletter. It is a great technique and makes some beautiful backgrounds.

I used Tim Holtz Distressing Inks and the new Stampin' Up Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder! The little molded flower is alot prettier in real life!

Anyway... give it a try, I know you will really enjoy using this technique.
