Embossed Alcohol ink

Hello technique lovers, Hetty here with another sample of a technique from the

August/September 2013 newsletter that is just full with wonderful techniques.

Have you tried the embossed alcohol technique. I noticed lately that the alcohol ink 

is getting populair again, soget out those bottles, embossing foldersand

a sheet of acetate for this new technique.

My sample is made with the woodgrain embossing folder and

a stamp by Art Neko.

Altered Designer Paper with Art Neko Stamp by Judy Jackson

Hello from Judy Jackson.  I just love these poppies from Art Neko.   Then I altered the designer paper and morphed it a bit by coloring in the flower in the designer paper to match the poppy.    The Altered Designer Paper technique is from the April/May 2009 Newsletter and is a fun one to use -- especially when the designer paper isn't always to your liking!  You can change it up a bit!

Early Gradient Stamping

Hey, Stampers!  Ann Clack here with a really early Valentines cards using the Gradient Stamping technique from the most recent Technique Junkie newsletter.  I know, we haven't even had Halloween and I'm getting out the Valentines day stamps!  Sometimes when mojo hits, you just have to go with what he hands you!!  ;-)

The splat stamps that are in the corner and the shadow stamp under the Love word were in a stamp set from Hero, I believe.  My lovely daughter, Angie, got them for me.  So sweet of her!! 

Rolled corner ATC

Today, I want to share an ATC with you. I stamped the background image on the dark green cardstock for a tone on tone look. Then, I stamped the image on the confetti for a reverse tone on tone look.

 I learned the Curled Corner technique in the Feb., 2011 Newsletter. I love the added elegance it adds to the look of the project.

The Silhouette die and ATC background stamp are from Sweet Stamps.

Distressed Rainbow Strips

Hello, Beth Norman here with Distressed Rainbow Strips from our newest issue.  I love this technique so much because it looks like a rainbow of colour.

My image is from our sponsor, Impression Obsession.  I watercoloured the image with my Tombow markers on watercolour paper.

You will find this card in the newsletter; I haven't had time to play in my studio because I was busy with my daughter's wedding.  Now that's behind me I can get back into my room and create.

Aged Tiles Christmas Cards by Judy Jackson

 

 

Good day from Judy Jackson.  Because the base card layer is white card stock, it is hard to see in a scan.  So I scanned the back of a blue children's book sitting on my desk.  That way the white edge will show up. There is no blue card layer. OK, now I have explained this.  I feel better and can go on with this blog post! 

 

 

Years ago I unmounted a bunch of stamps (nearly every wood mounted stamp I own) and forget to make a note of some of the stamp companies who made the stamp.   So I do not know who makes this stamp. I have tried to find which company made this stamp but I have been unsuccessful so if you know please let me know.  Ann Clack has let me know this stamps is from Stampendous!  Thank you Ann!

 

I wanted to get a head start on Christmas cards this year so I have been working at it bit by bit.   This is a fairly easy technique -- a bit fussy but really not too time consuming at all. Plus it has the additional advantage of being flat without a lot of necessary embellishment so it mails quite easily.  The technique is "enough" all by itself.   As you can see I made two versions. I know the first one is nice all by itself - its simplicity has an elegance of its own. But I decided I wanted another layer behind the tiles.  Only a very small amount of the focal image is colored and I colored those little areas with my Copic markers after it was put back together.  Then I added a bit of glimmer spray on both cards.

Holly Brown: Polished Stone Snowflakes

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  Judy's gorgeous polished stone card from yesterday inspired me to do my own polished stone card.  I used a couple of blue colors as well as a silver metallic color for my polished stone background.  In person, this card is very silvery and shimmery - love it!  I heat embossed some white snowflakes on top of my polished stone background and added the sentiment.  I left off the ribbons I planned to use because I didn't want to cover up that gorgeous background.  :-)
