One of characteristic of paper crafters is that well, we
love paper. Slick papers, rough papers,
shiny papers, decorative papers, bold patterned papers, vintage papers, quilt
papers, dictionary papers, floral papers, card stock papers, vellum papers,
steam punk papers, metallic papers, and more!
It doesn’t matter, we love it all.
We love to run our finger tips over paper, we love to smell certain
papers, we love the various weights of papers, we can dream about papers, and
we think up projects to use papers. We enjoy looking at papers – all kinds of papers! If you were go
into a paper crafter’s craft room, you will nearly always see PAPERS – stacks
of papers, files of papers, drawers of papers, boxes of papers – and yet we BUY
MORE!! We love papers!
But all paper crafters know that it is often “just the right
piece of paper” that will really “make their project.” Thus, there is this need
to buy more paper so we have just what we need for a project. And if we don’t have that just right paper,
we are not opposed to go shopping for more --- PAPER!

The first technique I am using today is called Nine Block
Quilt. As the name implies you use nine
blocks – but how you get those nine blocks is – well I can’t tell you. You will
need to get the CD!
The stamps about quilts is one of those unmounted stamps whose manufacturer I do not know. The "dream" stamp is by Stamp Camp (

The second technique I will highlight is Circle Square Quilt. This technique uses circles and squares as you might guess. My two cards are very different in appearance even though they both use the very same technique. This is one of the things I love about stamping and various techniques. You can use the same technique and often the same stamps and have very different cards. The first card is bright and colorful. The different sections of the quilt are easily identified. My second card for this technique has an aged look to it. Both the colors of the designer paper and the stamps from Stampers Anonymous and Stamp Camp (
http://www.stampcamp.com/) - a vendor of Technique Junkies - add to this aged and distressed look. The different sections of the quilt are not so easily identified because of the papers I chose.
