Diagonal Images by Judy Jackson

Last weekend was the Heirloom Stamp show in Allentown, PA.  I helped our fearless leader, Pat Huntoon, in her booth for the Technique Junkie newsletter and stamps.  Doing this is a lot of fun!  I am always amazed at how many folks have never heard of the Technique Junkie newsletter.  Afterward, of course I had to have some new stamps!   Pat encouraged me to try to use this stamp set of Funky Kitties.  It was not a problem as my daughter loves cats. She has four of them!   I also got this frame stamp.  I created a mask so that my kitties would stamp inside the frame.  Every frame has a different arrangement of kitties. Most of us tend to stamp our stamps in the same orientation all the time.  It is good for us and good or our brain to use our tools in different ways -- helps to keep our brains working you know!  I enjoy this technique (from the current newsletter) for that very reason -- it forces me to look at my stamps in ways I haven't thought of before.

Diagonal Images Backgrounds

Happy Sunday (night)...Tricia here with your Technique of The Week...Diagonal Images Backgrounds.  This is a fun technique that can be used with ALL of your stamps.

I have 2 cards to share with you today.

This card features a Technique Junkies stamp.

My second card is actually 2 stamps from Gina K Designs.  I used a rectangle stamp which I used first and then I used the Dream Catcher stamp and stamped inside the rectangle.  I love the look of the box around the image.  If you don't have stamps with a box around them a couple of line rectangles or squares will work great...maybe even circles...hmmm may need to try that. :)

Acetate Panel

 

This technique is from the most recent issue of TJ. The focal image is a Technique Junkie Stamp. The verse is from Club Scrap. The swirls are a G Studio stamp. Instead of using chalks or pastels to color  the acetate I used glitter which really looks pretty IRL.

These are fun cards to make and are very effective when the card is open and you can see through the acetate.

Emboss Resist Sparkle by Judy Jackson

I have two cards for you this week created with this technique from the current TJ newsletter.  It is such a fun way to use our supplies that we have in our crafting area!  A wonderful way to create a card with such a sparkly and soft technique.  The verse is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  I can't remember who makes the humming bird stamp. Sorry!

 This second card is created with stamps from Art Neko.   Those Koi fish are just swimming along!

Layered Paper Pieced wedding card

The wedding couple is a very old SU! stamp

that i just love using and works very well for

this technique.

TOTW Washi Shaker Card

 

How much fun is this? I used Washi tape around the frame as it calls for in the instructions

and also used it for the background of my card. I was dying to use the peacock feathers tape because it is so gorgeous. The stamp is an oldie but a goodie from Impression Obsession. There is a white border around the card that fades into the background of the post so you will have to use your imagination. I keep forgetting this and must try to remember the next time I post. The shakers are gold sequins and are much prettier IRL.

I hope this post finds you all well and being creative. My heart goes out to all of you that are in the colder climates. Boy, you certainly have had to deal with a lot this winter. It is a balmy 80 degrees here in the desert. That could change soon as we had snow last year in March!

 

Give this technique a try. It's a very simple shaker card with really nice results. Don't forget to post your creations to the Yahoo group so we can all be inspired.

Try That Technique - Washi Tape Shaker Card

I created this sweet St. Patrick's Day card for my nephews.  The little shamrocks were created with my Silhouette Cameo. 

The image is colored with copics using the No Line coloring technique.  The image is from Magnolia.
