Life is beautiful

Hello friends!! Hope you all are having a fantastic day! Today is a great day to celebrate, it's my Anniversary! Yep, a day like today my husband and I got married in a very breezy and chilly winter night in Lima, Peru, it has been 15 years and I am more than happy I am spending my time with him, many more years to come (with crafting too {wink, wink} )

Anyway, today I have a very simple card with one of the new stamps from the July release, this is Sunflowers stamp, beautiful background!

OK, let me show how I did it.

• First, cut a piece of watercolor paper, sprinkle little bits of Color Burst, here I used Tangerine, Sepia, Yellow Ochre and Alizarin Crimson, then mist the powders and voila! Let the magic begin! You can let it air dry or use a heat tool to speed the process.

• Then use a couple of the new Nuvo Glitter Markers and color the stamp with it, using your MISTI, stamp the image, here I covered the image twice with the reddish marker and once with the gold marker for the center of the flowers. Set aside to dry (it dries super fast)

• To finish the card, I die-cut the edge with a border die, added foam under the big piece and tape on the thin side to create a little contrast. Then, embellish it with pearls and twine. Stamp the super cute "Life is beautiful" sentiment.

And to wrap this up, this is a sunflower from my garden from a couple of years ago! I love sunflowers!!

How to make Stenciled Stamping

Hello there.  It's Beth Norman here with a tutorial for you using a background stamp and stencil.  I used the background stamp from Technique Junkies called Fancy Floral and my stencil is also from Technique Junkies from A Colorful Life series.  I used A Garden Gate stencil.

Supplies:  background stamp, stencil, 2 colours of ink, sponge, tape, white cardstock.

Using my Misti I stamped out my image using Stampn’ Up’s River Rock.

Sponge your colour over the entire surface of the cardstock.  Here I used Stampn’ Up’s Sweet Sugar Plum.

Next, trim cardstock and finish your card as desired.

A Masculine Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone, This is a relatively card to create.  I used a die cut, and sponged the sky and water on a small rectangle piece of white paper.  I brushed some Wink of Stella over the sky to have the early evening stars shimmer.  I used the Nuvo Glitter Markers  and DOTTED - not brushed the color. I discovered that on dark areas when you brush the color on, it appears silver and not the color of shimmer you want.  Then the scan doesn't show the color very well either.  I used a Technique Junkies stamp from the Grand Greetings set -  http://techniquejunkies.com/grand-greetings-set-of-5/ . It is a lovely masculine card and easy to mail.

Deep Water Mixed Media Tag

Hello All Lanette Here! 

Today I wanted to share a mixed media tag that I created, using two stamps from June's release. 

Lets take a look....

 

Products Used:  Techinique Junkies Advice from a Sea Turtle & Swirl Turtle Stamps. Stazon Ink, Dylusions Acrylic Paint pens, Prima Patter Paper, Color Bloom Sprays & Art Stones. Art Anthology Sorbet. Sea Shells & Ribbon.

First I stamped my Swirl Turtle using my stamping platform & Stazon Ink

Next I colored my Turtle using Rangers Dylousions Acrylic Paint Pens. 

Its so easy to layer color, I just love these pens!

After my Swirl Turtle dried I re-stamped him and I stamped him again on my tag. I added some extra bubbles for fun and I stamped my Advice from a Sea Turtle verse stamp.

Next I added shells and art stones to build up my tag.

A bit of Art Anthology Sorbet on the bubbles and a 

mix color bloom spray colored my background.

I placed my turtle and my verse.

Find your Zen!

Good morning!  Chris here, sharing two cards created with a few of the new July stamps!

Today I am focusing on the new July Zen Waves background stamp.

My first card uses Zen Waves as my background panel for a peaceful shaker card.

I stamped the background in a medium blue ink, and overstamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it in clear.  I then added color to the waves with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  I used a scalloped die to create a decorative opening in my light blue panel for my shaker card.   I trimmed a flag from lavender cardstock and added a greeting from Dream Quotes.  I attached this flag to the back of my shaker front before assembling the shaker with clear acetate and two layers of foam tape.

My second card uses a Gel Press, acrylic paints and the Zen Waves background stamp for a more intense and active background.

I used Bristol Smooth card stock and three shades of acrylic inks to create the background with my Gil Press.  Once my panel was dry, I stamped Zen Waves directly over the paint with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I also used another of the new July stamps, Be A Mermaid.  To create the focal image, I stamped the Be A Mermaid in Versafine and colored her with Chameleon Colortone Pencils.  I truly love how simple these pencils are to use.  They make coloring so quick and easy!  The small mermaid focal image was trimmed, matted with black cardstock and added to my card with dimensional foam tape.

ONE STAMP, TWO VERY DIFFERENT LOOKS

Good Day, Junkies! Scraphappy Ro here with you today to share a couple of cards made with one of the July Releases, Zen Waves.

I really like the versatility of this stamp. I achieved two very different looks with just one stamp. What do you think?

If you didn't look closely, you would not think these were both the same stamp!

For the first card, I stamped and embossed the background on white cardstock using Zen Waves, Versamark Ink and Nuvo Embossing Powder in Serenity Blue. I then stamped again on a black piece of cardstock using Zen Waves, Versamark Ink and Nuvo Embossing Powder in Shimmering Pearl.

Using a set of circle dies, I cut out four areas from the black cardstock in four different sizes. From the largest circle, I cut a smaller offset circle to use as a frame for the sentiment.  Each of the four circles was mounted using foam tape, aligned with the background image.

I then stamped the sentiment from the set, Things I Want To Do, using Versamark Ink and Nuvo Serenity Blue Embossing Powder. I again used a circle die to cut out the sentiment. That was mounted with a slightly thicker foam tape. I also mounted the circle frame (turning it so the pattern did not match up the bottom layers) with thicker foam tape.  I added the layers to a black card base. I love how the shimmery on black really stands out from the blue on white background.

For the second card, I stamped the image on white cardstock using Zen Waves, Versamark Ink and Nuvo Embossing Powder in Glitter Noir.  I used the Zig Wink of Stella Markers to color in the various areas of the background. These markers have a shimmery effect and gave the background a nice shine. I trimmed the piece down and mounted it on a white card base.

I stamped the sentiment, Advice From A Sea Turtle, on white cardstock using Versamark and Nuvo Embossing Powder (Serenity Blue), trimmed it down and adhered it to the base. See how twinkly that background is!
