Full of Love!

I just wanted to share a fun card that I created using a bit of Nuvo's Gilding Flakes!! I think they might just become my new addiction! I love how easy they are to use and they add the perfect amount of bling.


Anyhow lets take a look at my card...

Products Used: Technique Junkies Seagrass Mat (#S758) & Life is full of Love (#SD682) Stamps. Martha Stewart Fine Gold Embossing Power. Prima Oil Pastels & Watercolor Paper. Nuvo Gilding Flakes, Versa Mark Ink. Deco Foil Glue Pen. Misc Twine and resin rose.

My card was super quick and Easy to make here's what I did...

I started my stamping and embossing my water color with our beautiful Seagrass Mat Stamp.  After I embossed the image I used Prima's Water soluble Oil Pastels to add a bit of color.

Next I add a bit of bling with my Nuvo Gilding Flakes and my glue maker. I just added a bit of glue here and there. Before the glue dried a sprinkled a couple flakes on my card and rubbed off the extra. 

For my verse I went with our Life is Full of Love stamp. Stamped & embossed on vellum.

And there you have it a sweet little card with just the right amount of bling.

Shades of Chocolate

I am simply drawn to varying shades of brown married together in an elegant card. And that's what I have for you today.

This elegant lady demands your attention and wants you to beYOUtiful! All those shades of brown! Yummy!

For the distressed background, I first stamped Seagrass Matt using various browns in the Distress Ink family.  I then crumpled it up (like I was going to toss it in the trash) and smoothed it back out. I used a soft greyish-brown Distress Ink (Pumice Stone) and highlighted the raised areas caused by the crumpling. I also added some of that ink to the edges of the panel which makes it really stand out from the card.  After ironing it flat(ish), I added a soft yellow torn vellum strip, then attached the panel to my brown card base.

I added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dark Walnut and while they dried, I stamped the other elements of my card.

The main focal image, Vine Beauty (a new release this month), was stamped using Versamark and Nuvo Embossing Powder (Hot Chocolate). I fussy cut the image and added it to the card with foam tape.

For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Typewriter Set. I find myself going to this set a lot for sentiments. There is a variety of them in there that work with many other sets. Don't be afraid to mix up your stamps. They all play well together! Using Versamark and Hot Chocolate Nuvo Embossing Powder, I stamped and die cut the sentiment and colored in the "you" with a Zig Wink of Stella pen in Glitter Pink. I also added a dab of pink to the Vine Beauty's lips and flowers. I then placed the sentiment die cut on the card using foam tape.

Hi there Junkies....

Here's a little card I did the other day using one of the stamps from the new August release called "Hibiscus Panel".  

This image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored using my MozArt brush pens and and aqua brush.  The bg was created using the same pens and a watercolor wash.  I then sprinkled it with water and used a paper towel to lift the color and created the "orb" detail.  After it dried, acrylic black paint and water was mixed and sprinkled over the image for additional detail.  A final touch was adding clear sequins after die cutting the panel and layering it onto a watercolor paper panel colored with Brusos to help accent the image and the colors. 

This image is fabulous and I know I'll be using more and more.

Strong Women

Do you ever get stumped when stamping new images?  I think we all do at times.  I admit I was a "late" converter to Pinterest. But i have used it now lots of times for ideas for my house and for my stamping.  I only use it as a "idea maker" and never CASE it completely

Fluff your Tutu

When I received this awesome stamp, the striped stockings made me think of the Wicked witch from the Wizard of Oz. Is it possible that the Ruby Slippers could have been Ruby High Heeled Pumps?

In my imagination it is!!

I coloured the image with Copic Markers and used the Red Pen from the Ember Glow Nuvo Glitter Markers to do the shoes and satin along the tutu!

I absolutely LOVE this Fluff your Tutu stamp

It's whimsical and well.......shouldn't life be like that. When people try to bring us down, it's important to keep on keeping on....dance to the beat of our own drum and if we have a tutu, fluff it up and dance!!!!

I have had this Magic Oz paper from Graphic 45 for ages. I've actually hoarded it because I LOVE the Wizard of Oz and well, I just enjoy looking at the pretty paper.

I decided to use a bit of it for this card, 'cause I thought it would be perfect!!!!

Fluff your tutu!

Hello friends! How are you all doing? Hope you are enjoying the warm weather and having an enjoyable Summer. For today, I have a super fun project using a brand new stamp, just released! This new "Fluff your Tutu" stamp is one of the newest and cutest stamps I've ever seen in a while. I decided to create a tutu and I have few pictures to show you how I did it, let's get started.

• Stamp the image on a piece of smooth white cardstock, here I color the image with a pink marker. Cut a piece of white tulle, fold it the way you like it and add stitches. 

•  Color the tulle with a marker. TIP: I will suggest you to color the tulle before adding the stitches, it dries super fast.
• Braid some twine that coordinates with the color of your tulle.

•  Hot glue the braided twine on top of the sewed tulle tutu.

• This is how your tutu will look, so fluffy and cute {wink, wink} 

To finish my card, I dry embossed the front of my card base and added a piece of pink shimmering cardstock behind the image.
