DECO FACE

Hello Junkies!

Isn't she (Deco Face) beautiful?

I'm such a romantic, and this face...well, it captured my imagination the second I saw it in the Technique Junkies Stamps Store.  I even gave her a name...it's Kathleen.  She reminds me of my great-aunt "Kitty" Kathleen (who was a true flapper).  I recently added her to my Technique Junkies stamp collection and I have many ideas of more ways to create with her.  The sentiment I've added to this is from "Sentimental Sayings", was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white ep, and is a fabulous sentiment set to have in your collection.

If there are any stamps in the TJStore that capture your fancy, I can help you get them by adding a 10% discount to your entire order.  Just use my personal discount code of TJ10Cheri and you're going to get 10% off your ENTIRE order.

To create this card, using my MISTI, I first stamped her in Blue Danube Memento ink on white card stock.  I colord her face with Copic Markers and then replaced her into the MISTI (I hadn't removed the stamp) and stamped her again with black VersaMark ink.  This gave the image depth.  An embossing folder piece behind her highlighted with Delicata gold ink gave my version of "deco".  She's framed and mounted on dark blue card stock and I added some touches of a gold gel pen dots for depth to the background.

There's a lot going on at Technique Junkies, stop by, and sign up to get the Design Junkies Blog so you don't miss any daily postings.  You'll see incredible paper craft artists there and we also have a monthly challenge.    And come on over to our FaceBook Page and join us there.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Warm Hugs

I have a friend who used to stamp with the ladies in my Wednesday stamping group.  In the winter  she always signed cards and emails "warm hugs."  She even named our day together as Wednesday Friends Day.  We began to see a mental and memory decline over a few years. Her family began to notice it as well.  Then it became apparent she could no longer live alone and take proper care of herself.  Her family moved her into an assisted living facility  for people who have memory issues.  She is doing well there and is well cared for. Her family visits her often.  We get up to see her now and then.

This new Technique Junkies stamp set Winter Wishes - www.techniquejunkies.com/happy-winter-wishes-set-of-3/ -  reminds me of her and our times together.  So I will send her this card to let her know I am thinking of her. The image is colored with Copic markers and the sky is sponged.  Snowy fat glitter flakes cover the ground. The verse is heat embossed.

The Technique Junkies background is called Retro Sparkles -http://techniquejunkies.com/retro-sparkles/ - and it is heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

Valentine One Layer Card

Hi! Jeanne here today with a one layer Valentine card using new stamps
from the January Release at Technique Junkies!

Want a discount?
Use Code TJ10Jeanne for 10% off
your order at www.techniquejunkies.com!

I wanted a muted background with a splash of color so I used a pale tan ink on the
Valentine Love background stamp. I used my MISTI to restamp after adding light pink
(I used a water based marker) on the lips. Next I stamped the Truly Madly Deeply sentiment
in red ink. I used a paintbrush and water to wet the ink and let it bleed a bit. I added some
splatters with the same ink. Once it was dry I used my MISTI to restamp the sentiment.

Don't forget to use this code for 10% off!

Have a great day!

Love You More Valentine Containers

Hey Technique Junkies, Janelle Stollfus here today with a little treat to share. I'm spotlighting the new Love You More Stamp Set with 5 sentiments perfect to make a set of simple yet fun treat containers.

This is an easy project that comes together quickly, and I love how they turned out, but I do want to warn you that the tutorial below is a bit long so don't be discouraged from trying it out.

Save 10% when you shop at Technique Junkies with code TJ10Janelle.

Supplies:
  • Love You More Stamp Set
  • 90lb watercolor papers (9 x 12 inches if possible)
  • White Cardstock
  • Pattern Paper
  • Black Ink
  • Paintbrushes - flat or round
  • Watercolor Paint
  • Water and Paper Towel
  • Isopropyl Alcohol/Rubbing Alcohol (not shown)
  • Double-Sided Tape (not shown)
  • Cord or Twine (not shown)
  • Mini Clothespins or use a Stapler (not shown)
  • Glue (not shown)
Technique:
Directions:

This tutorial uses a variation on the Spattered Ombre tutorial that will allow the paper to be cut into four smaller pieces of ombre paper. Repeat steps 1 - 4 to make as many as needed.
  1. Wet watercolor paper with water, enough so you can see it is wet.
  2. Begin painting at the top from side to side with a loaded paintbrush and move to the center until all the paint is on the paper. Repeat from the bottom towards the center.
  1. Spatter rubbing alcohol with a clean paintbrush and let dry or use a heat tool to quickly dry.
  2. Cut paper into fourths about 4-1/2 by 6 inches. (I folded the paper in half and pinched for the halfway marks to cut out four pieces.)
  1. Use double-sided sticky tape along the short edge and about two-thirds across the top left and bottom center. (click image to enlarge)
  2. Roll paper to train it into a tube before removing backing liner. Remove liner on the side and top left, then roll it to attach sides only.
  3. Pinch the end together with the side seam from step 6 to the left.
  1. Fill the container to about 1-inch from the top with goodies and close the second end, so the side seam is in the middle.
  2. Press both ends together with a bone folder or a crimper tool. We wouldn't want the treats to fall out.

  1. Stamp sentiments on white paper and cut loosely around each one.
  2. Glue sentiment to a 1-inch strip of pattern paper that is a longer than the sentiment and has one end cut for a fishtail banner.
  3. Clothespin the sentiment piece to the treat and tie with a bow either around the whole container or just the sentiment. You could also staple the sentiment if clothespins aren't available.
That's it! Thanks for hanging out with me today!

You are in my prayers

Hello friends! Giovana here today sharing a super easy card with some of the new goodies I just got!! Fun stuff! I will be sharing more projects with these stamps, so stay tuned.

I loved all these stamps! I decided to use the Deco Roses and In my prayers sets. The Deco Roses Background is so pretty!
Few details how I made this card:
  • Stamp background Deco Roses on a piece of Red Cardstock in White Pigment Ink. Add Bridal Embossing Powder (this embossing powder is a cream color + glitter, it is beautiful!!) then heat set.
  • Die-cut piece and adhere it to a White card base using foam adhesive.
  • Stamp sentiment on a piece of White cardstock, die-cut piece.
  • Add silver thread, then adhere sentiment with foam adhesive.
  • Add white pearls.
