Double Duty Background with Shimmering Bliss

Hi, Junkies! Ro, here today, to share with you a really cool background duet made with one stencil and one-time spritzing of Shimmering Bliss.

I used the stencil and three colors of Shimmering Bliss: Silver (one of the Topper Sprays), Dragon's Blood and Mardi Gras Purple.  I simply sprayed the Bliss onto the white cardstock through the stencil (I didn't even have to tape it down!). I carefully removed the stencil and flipped the spray-side down onto another piece of cardstock. A gentle rub transferred the reverse image of the stencil onto a second piece of cardstock, thus giving me two backgrounds! 

And here's what I made with them! 

The first card uses the background sprayed through the stencil. I also used two newly released stamps: Whispering Friends, and one of the sentiments from Inside Out Patience (released in July).  I simply angled the background onto my card base and attached with double-sided tape. I added a few strips of washi tape. I then stamped both images on white cardstock and cut them out, then used some watercolors to color "the girls".  Both were attached using foam dimensional squares.

 

For the inside of the card, I just sprayed with Shimmering Bliss and attached the inside stamped sentiment, again using double-sided tape and a couple strips of washi tape.

For the other card, I used the reverse spray of the stencil on the background. I trimmed it down and outlined it with black marker. I cut two pieces of black cardstock and attached them to my card base. I gave another spritz of Shimmering Bliss across the center. I stamped and embossed the stencil panel using Never Stop Making Wishes, another new release for August, and attached the piece to the card base.

I am having so much fun playing with the new shimmer sprays and stamps!  Here is a card I made this week using these new stamps "Enjoy the Ride"  and "Messy Marble" and Shimmer Bliss Sprays "Miami Vice", "Mardi Gras", "Harvest Sunset" and "Iridescent Shimmer Bliss Topper"

I first stamped the Messy Marble bg stamp with VersaMark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  This created a resist for the sprays.  I then used Miami Vice and Mardi Gras and blended them on the panel in various areas.  I absolutely love how these sprays work together.  

I dried the sprayed panel and then sprayed it again lightly with Iridescent Topper.  This photo does not do the shimmer justice!  It's stunning in real life.  

Choosing the sailboat from the "Enjoy the Ride" set, I stamped it in a navy dye ink color, used a round die to cut it out then sprayed it with the Iridescent Topper.  I gave the image a glassy appearance.  I made the frame out of a pumpkin colored card stock scrap and then sprayed it with Harvest Sunset Shimmer Bliss!  

I was so delighted with the results of the stamps and sprays on this card and I hope you found some inspiration here.

Making Wishes

This card features three colors of Shimmering Bliss sprays: a light blue, a dark blue, and a gold tone. Then I heat-set the paper very well. I put the paper in my MISTI. I used brown and gray inks to get this image. Because of the shimmer, I found I needed to stamp it several times to clearly stamp the image. Then I colored the Tidepool Starfish with three shades of brown Copic markers. The verse is from an August release stamp called Never Stop Wishing. I cut away the verse from the dandelions so I could use it in other ways.

I love the sparkle, definitely a lot sparklier than most sprays i've used

I made some plant prints a couple of weeks ago and thought they would be so pretty on Sympathy cards.

An Exercise in Genius and Crazy

When I saw the Genius and Crazy sentiment I knew it was going to be a great match with the image from Screaming Calories. I was feeling my watercolors calling me so I stamped and colored my rope jumper then trimmed around it so I would have a white space. Use a utility knife for some of the smaller corners and tight spaces.

I used just a few pencil lines on 90lb watercolor paper to guide my paints for a scenic background. Note that I used an adhesive spring to really make this jumper move!

Hello friends!! Giovana here today, hope you all are having a great day!

Today I want to share with you a sympathy card, this kind of card is the one I don't make often, but I need one to send to a sweet lady who just lost her daddy from cancer.

Plus I used a brand new stamps and several Shimmering Bliss!!

Details:

This card was pretty easy to make, I wanted something simple yet elegant, and I think I got it.

• Start misting a piece of watercolor paper with Harvest Sunset, Wine Stain and Luscious Lawn Shimmering Bliss. Set aside to dry.
• Stamp Light Remains sentiment on the Black Stazon Ink.
• Using a stencil, here I used Circles makes Circles, and Pearlescent Embossing Pate, apply it on top and bottom of panel.
• Die-cut few butterflies and add to panel.
• TIP: Anytime I use my sprays, I keep a piece of cardstock underneath, I used part of the gold piece to die-cut the butterflies.
