30 Days of Christmas - Day 11 : Holly Jolly

Hello friends! Giovana here today.
It's day 11 of our 30 Days of Christmas Celebration!
From now until November 13th all of the stamps in the Christmas Category at Technique Junkies are on sale at 20% off but if you use the code TJ10Giovana at checkout all of the Christmas stamps are 30% off!!! Time to stock up on some pretty Christmas stamps!

So, let me show you the project I have for you today.
For this project I used Christmas Whimsy Background, I stamped it on a piece of pink cardstock, I used my Misti to get a perfect impression.  After the image was perfectly stamped, I stamped on top Textured Newsprint Stamp in Beige color, just to give the image a bit more of texture.
Cut the image to 4" x 4", then die-cut the center part using scallop circle dies.
Create a card base from white cardstock, 5.5" x 5.5", then add a red panel 5" square to card base, then adhere the stamped panel and the circle piece adhere it with foam tape to create a little dimension.
Add green metallic tape around and a couple of gold snowflakes.
Finally, I added a lot of red, pink and white Nuvo dots.

Hope you like it!
Have a wonderful day!

30 Days of Christmas - Day 10

Hello and welcome to day 10 of our 30 days of Christmas ... the Technique Junkies Design Team will be posting a Christmas project on the blog from October 15th through November 13th, so be sue to check back every day for some inspiration, also if today is your first time here scroll back to the start date October 15th so you don't miss anything.

Also, all Technique Junkies Christmas Stamps are on Sale through November 13th ... you will save 20% off all Christmas stamps AND you can also use my code TJ10Stephanie for an additional 10% off your entire order (you can stack the %-off for this Christmas celebration).

I made cards featuring two of the very first stamps that made me fall in love with Technique Junkies Stamps ... the Christmas Kitty and Dear Santa.  I remember at least one childhood occasion when our cat knocked over our Christmas tree in the middle of the night ... what a cacophony that was.  These stamps always remind me of that childhood memory.

I love stamping the Christmas Kitty in unexpected colors for sort of an Andy Warhol-like effect to my designs.  Here he is in Rockin' Red, which coordinates perfectly with papers and embellishments from the Jingle All The Way Collection from My Mind's Eye.

The layout is inspired by the October Sketch at the Stick it Down Challenge.

He also looks quite dashing in Skylight Blue, which coordinated perfectly with another designer paper from the same My Mind's Eye paper collection.

I used the other piece of the red paper and did sort of another variation on the same sketch (nothing wasted that way, and I was able to extend the design to a wider orientation).

Hope you're inspired by all of the Christmas designs on the Blog this month.

A Christmas Pine Spray - Day 8 of the 30 Days of Christmas!

I used 3 Technique Junkies Stamps for this card: Old WallSeasons Greetings, and Merry Christmas 2.  Technique Junkies is celebrating the 30 Days of Christmas.  And there is 20% off of all Christmas stamps during this period.

First I stamped the Old Wall stamp on white card stock.  I added color to the bricks in this order - coral, rust, and then a deep red.  I used a beigy-green ink and burnished the entire card.  I added more ink  to the dotted areas on the wall to give depth.   I burnished the same ink over the bricks to age them a bit.The pine spray for the "door" in my imagination was stamped using a stamp positioner like the MISTI.  I placed the old wall panel in the MISTI and laid the pine bough down in the center of the panel.  I inked the stamp with a dark meadow green and stamped it on the wall panel. I repeated applying ink and stamped it again to be sure no areas were missed.  I cleaned that stamp and applied Versamark twice, and then covered it with  clear embossing powder and heat set it.

I repeated the above process four times, each time moving the pine bough to the right or left to create a full spray for the "door." This panel was attached to the green layer and then to the base card. I tied the ribbon bow and attached  two metal pine cones with gold elastic cording to the bow.

After the saying was stamped it was punched out and then layer with green and 3 small circles behind the saying.  The grouping was attached with pop up foam adhesive.  After all was assembled I gave the entire card a quick spray all over with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss spray.

Please remember to use the discount code TJ10Judy when you order to get a ten percent discount off of your total order.

Have a wonderful day and get inky!!

To create my card, I started with a white top folding card 120lb card base, a black panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller for a mat. I stamped the Framed Poinsettia using Archival ink on watercolor paper and colored using Daniel Smith watercolors. After I colored the focal panel I adhered it to the black mat and then to the card base. I stamped the Merry Christmas 2 in Versamark ink on a black strip of cardstock and then embossed it in white and popped it up on the card front.

TJ Inkspirations: Day 5 of the 30 Days of Christmas with Gold Edging

We have been doing the 30 Days of Christmas event at Technique Junkies for more than 5 years now, and I think it gets better every year!

If you haven't been following along, The TJ Design Team and I are posting a Christmas/Holiday themed projet every day on the TJ Design Team Blog from October 15 through November 13, 2018. In addition, we are offering a 20% discount on everything in the Christmas category (there are 95 items in that category!) during our 30 day celebration. No code needed - it is applied automatically at checkout!

Today I have the card for Day 5 of the 30 Days of Christmas, along with an easy idea for creating a vintage, gilded look that doesn't have the same "grunge-factor" as sponging ink.

Gilded Edges
Santa with Gifts
For today's "installment" of the 30 Days of Christmas, I used the new  Santa with Gifts stamp. I colored the image with Copic Markers and used the Nuvo Fresh Snowfall Glitter Accents on the "fur" of Santa's suit. I fussy cut the image out to really show it off. Then I went spelunking into my crazy paper stash and found a fun little Christmas paper  to use as the background for my card.

As I put the card together, I knew it needed something.

I grabbed my Indian Gold Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and
dipped a sponge (cut into 8 pieces) into the paste. I simply
applied it to the sponge, then added it around the edges of the paper:

What I love most about adding the gold on this way has to be how fast the paste dries, and how elegant it looks. It almost looks like the card is glowing!

To finish the card, I added the A Very Merry Christmas sentiment to the inside.  I love this little card!

I hope you have been inspired this week with our 30 Days of Christmas! We have so much more to come!
