Dogs and Glittery Sayings

My card today is a mix of old and new. I have had the adorable Doxie Guilt Trip stamp for a bit now and just needed a perfect sentiment to go with it. When this months release was revealed to the team, I found one that I think fits the attitude of the doxie face. There are new stamps this month with dogs, too! Let's see how I put this card together!

Notice in the list of supplies that there are some shimmering products to go along with the sentiment too! It's a great match of stamps and accessories!

Supplies:

• Dog Hair Stamp (New release)
• Doxie Guild Trip Stamp
• Nuvo Mousse - Gunmetal Gray
• A Colorful Life Stencil - like Stars and Stripes
• Shimmering Bliss Spray - Iridescent
• Stencil Brush or sponge
• Glue
• Black Ink Pad (safe to use with coloring medium)
• Coloring Medium ( i.e., alcohol or waterbased markers, watercolor pencils, etc.)
• White, red and kraft cardstock

Instructions:

1. Fold a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch kraft cardstock in half for card base.
2. Lay down stencil over the front of the folded card base and dab Nuvo mousse into stencil design. Set aside.
3. Stamp with black ink Doxie and sentiment onto white cardstock and color (alcohol markers and Memento ink were used)
4. Lightly spray colored image with Shimmering Bliss Spray and frame with red cardstock.
5. Glue onto the card base.

My first card uses Confident Girl on a finger painted acrylic paint background.
She was colored with watercolors.

My next card uses Friends Looking Out. I kept this one simple by stamping in black in and then did a wash of Dragon's Blood Shimmering Bliss (applied with a paint brush) on the stone wall.

Hugs and Kisses

Hello friends!

Giovana here today with a Valentine card, love is in the air and I think this card is just perfect for the occasion.

For this card I used Love Overlay Background and the new Hugs and Kisses stamp.

Details:

Using your Misti, stamp Love Overlay Background on watercolor paper in Versamark Watermark Ink, add white embossing powder and heat set.

Spray panel with Festive Flaming Shimmering Bliss and Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper.

Die-cut panel or trim it to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8".

Stamp Hugs and Kisses on vellum paper in Versamark Watermark, then add Gold embossing powder and heat set it. Add behind the vellum a piece of Stick It, then die-cut it with circle dies.

Add background and sentiment to a pink card base.

Embellish card with a red scallop piece, a paper flower that was previously misted with Gold Shimmering Bliss Topper.

Add pearls.

Card size A2.

Cats and More Cats

This week I had fun playing with cats.  I wanted to try some unexpected ink and paper combinations with these fun Hipster Cats.

I started by stamping the Hipster Cats in Black Jack ink on a piece of hand-marbled paper I had made.

Those Hipster Cats are so fun in their glasses & bow ties.  I added a bit more of the marbled paper to frame the sentiment Cats and More Cats.

Next I stamped the Hipster Cats in Versafine Clair Twilight Ink on lavender cardstock.

This one I paired  with the Genius and Crazy Sentiment and a scrap of the hand-marbled paper.

The final group of Hipster Cats was stamped in Flirty Fuchsia on the same lavender cardstock.  I added some striped washi tape, pearls and a wrap of twine to these fun purple cats together with the Cats and More Cats Sentiment.

Hopefully you'll look at your background stamp collection differently and try some fun and unexpected paper and ink combinations.

Hi there TJ fans!  I have a Valentine for you.  

The Technique Junkies Stamps I used to create this card were "French Sentiments Set of 4" , from the January 2019 Release  and  for the background, this awesome stamp, "Ornate Swirls" .

To create this card, I  used my MISTI and first stamped the "Ornate Swirls"  on a cream colored card stock layer with a combination of Distress Oxide Inks.  I was looking for a deep rose.  After stamping in the "rose" combination, I then stamped again using a brown color Distress Oxide Ink creating the vintage look I was going for. 

On another cream panel I heat embossed the word Je t'aime, from the French Sentiment Set of 4 with a cream embossing powder and inked over it with the same ink combination of colors.  When dry, I used some older heart dies and cut the sentiment out as well as a scalloped heart to place behind it.

Never Tried Before

I used three Technique Junkies stamps in making this card:

Arabesque

Flatware

and Mae West Sentiments 

I stamped both images on white card and the spritzed with vagarious colors of Technique Junkies Shimmering Bliss spray.  I only stamped a small section of the Flatware stamp.

I stamped the sentiment on the dark yellow card stock and heat embossed the sentiment.

Joy In Your Journey

As January heads into it's last week, and I reflect on this first month of the new year, I realize that I did not make any new year's resolutions.  I don't usually, as I find them difficult to keep.  I really just strive to be the best version of myself.  If I do that, then everything else falls into place somehow.  I am just relaxing, and finding joy in my journey.

For my card, I used Technique Junkies stamp Joy In Your Journey.

I inked the stamp with distress ink, and stamped it onto pale green card stock, then cut it out and mounted it to a blue panel.  I wrapped some gold fiber around it, and added some pearl accents.  I colored the white pearls with my gold Krylon pen.

On a panel of white card stock, I ran a green distress oxide pad down and across the panel.  I repeated this with a blue distress oxide pad.  I love the background this technique creates.  I added the panel to an A2 card front, then mounted my main image panel to it with foam tape for dimension.
