OH THOSE SNARKY CARDS!

The new releases for August are still on sale! You can save up to 25% until tomorrow, August 8th!

One of my favorite releases this month is another set from the Inside Out Series called Inside Out - For the Girls. This is a set of 10 stamps and they are so funny!

I have already made several cards with this set and am still going strong! The one I'm sharing today uses another one of my favorite previously released stamps, Coffee Kitty.  I have used this cat with attitude on many cards. That look just fits so many sentiments! Here is the card:

OUTSIDE
INSIDE
I simply used an A2 card base and stamped the outside sentiment in the upper left corner. The image was stamped on a piece of white CS, trimmed down and matted on black CS. I colored the cup and eyes. The focal piece was then attached to the card base and the cat masked. I used a couple of tiny post-it notes to create a rough mask for the sentiment, then used my black blow pen to create the spatter. On the inside of the card, I stamped the inner sentiment, masked it, and added a few spots of spatter.

This card was quick and easy! Just my style! lol

Remember! You only have until tomorrow to save 25% on the new stamps! My 10% off code is good on any product, any time, no expiration. Simply add TJ10Ro at checkout. The new stamp discount will automatically be applied.

Let's see your snarky cards!!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

Miss Ewe

When the August release came out I put this Miss Ewe stamp set aside, as I knew I would love to do a single post about it. I just love this image, the cuteness is right up there!

Starting with my background and using a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Cute Love, I applied translucent embossing paste and set aside to dry.
I then masked off each part of the stamp so as to stamp them separately, which I did using Memento Ink, then die cut the pieces with my circle dies.

I then coloured the lamb with Copics in E40 and R12 to get the lovely peach tone, and I also coloured the stencil using Nuvo Aqua Flow pens in Soft Rose and Cinnamon Stick.
I attached the circles to my card base, using foam squares to attach the smaller one with the sentiment.

I very much enjoyed making this card and I hope you enjoy it as well.
Thanks for visiting today.

Gorgeous Sunflower

Did you know I am a Kansas girl?  I was born in Wichita at the Wesley Hospital.  However, I only lived in Wichita for about 6 weeks as my Dad was in the army and already stationed in Hawaii. The Army said my Mom and brother couldn't go until I was born.  So six weeks old I was on the way across the country to board a ship to sail to Hawaii.  No super highways, no internet to find a hotel along the way, and it was already winter in the Rocky Mountains that we had to cross somewhere.  So my mother, my aunt,  my grandmother, my brother, and our dog Sally traveled across the southern route through southern Arizona.  And they still ran into a blizzard! That delayed travel a couple of days.  No disposable diapers either. So those were washed out by hand in the motel bathroom.  They were hung to dry on a rigged up clothesline over the tub.  No motel laundromats in those days!  Of course the diapers were not dry by morning.  So some were hung to dry between the front and back seats, and some were hung to dry on the radio antennae!  I imagine that was quite the sight!

This beautiful Framed Sunflower is so pretty!  And it was so easy to paint.  It is layered on brown card stock run through a wood embossing folder.  I sponged some brown ink over the embossed areas to bring out the detail.

Save yourself some money and order your Technique Junkies stamp selections from the August release to get an automatic 15% discount -- no code to use!
Then stack the coupon code of TJ10Judy and get another 10% off!! What a wonderful way to save yourself some money -- which is always a good thing!

Have a marvelous day -- and get inky!!

Desert Life

Hi everyone!  Have you seen the new August release?  There are so many gorgeous new stamps in this release!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing one of the cards I made for the release.

On this card, I've used the new Desert Landscape Border stamp.  I stamped it with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and let it dry completely before moving on.  Then I used the awesome new ink blending brushes and brushed some ink colors onto the paper for a brilliant background.  The desert is a great place to see bright and colorful sunsets.  I stamped the sentiment, Beautiful Ride, with the same Nocturne ink and then added some stars with a white gel pen.

Remember, all of the August release stamps are on sale for 15% off until the 8th.  You can save an extra 10% when you use my code, TJ10Holly, for a whopping 25% off!  Have fun shopping!

Masked Backgrounds

One of the first reasons I fell in love with Technique Junkies stamps were their awesome backgrounds.  Today I played around with several backgrounds and a masking technique.  Remember you can get 10% off your order using my discount code TJ10Stephanie.

After spending time last week with my sister's cat Simon, I was inspired to make some cards featuring Coffee Kitty ... this stamp is very easy to cut for masking (I just cut off the whiskers from my mask, and it worked just fine).  I started by using my MISTI to stamp him on a white cardstock.

I stamped him a second time on masking paper to cover up my first stamped image, and then I positioned my Textured Newsprint background and stamped it in Fantasia Versafine Clair Ink.

I trimmed to even up the white border and then mounted my image on a purple card base.  I paired him with a sentiment from I've had my Coffee.

I finished with a few purple sequins.

The great thing about a mask is that you can use it several times.  Just be sure the ink on the masking paper is dried, so you don't rub it onto your next card (don't ask me how I know this).  I paired the Coffee Kitty with the Flower Doodles Background using Brown for the Cat and Tiger Lily Orange for the background.

For this cat, I paired him with a sentiment from Cat Greetings with the coordinating sentiment on the inside.

I hope I've given you some fun ideas for how to use your Technique Junkies background stamp collection ... go give masking a try.
