A Variety of Birthday Fun
Technique Junkies release this month is ALL about birthdays!! Today I am showcasing 3 different sentiments.My first card uses Hooray and the beautiful Butterfly Beauty. Using a deep etched wood embossing folder, I then added some teal ink by sponge. The sentiment is on dimensionals and the butterfly was stamped on an ink, spray, smoosh background.
I made this card for my husband's birthday. The sentiment is from Inside Out: Young at Heart and on the inside it says, "An Old man, but still the man." The bottom layer is a splotchy ef....the fish was taken from a can of local Colorado beer and then I die cut and made a few extra die cut layers. He loved it.
Lastly, and this is one of my faves for the month is Sister Birthday, Set of 2. I had this fancy, textured designer paper (not sure from where) and this came together so quick. Some organza ribbon and one of my favorite things to do is to distress it. The cake was colored with Zig watercolor markers.

Young at Heart | Technique Junkies New Release
Hello! Tracy Shultz, the Hopeful Crafter, sharing a card that I created using the new Inside Out: Young at Heart (set of 10) (#SS145) and Shimmering Bliss Sprays (Just Squeezed and Thulian Pink). The Inside Out stamp sets offer both the outside sentiment and the inside sentiment. The Young At Heart Set of 10 set features birthday themed stamps for the outside of the card and snarky (funny) sentiments for the inside of the card.

The candles are a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs: Big Candles Stencil
The inside/snarky/funny sentiment is pictured above. Both the Outside and the Inside sentiments on my card were heat embossed with Nuvo Gold Enchantment sparkle embossing powder. I also cut some candles (sprayed with Shimmery Bliss Spray) and included three of them inside the card with the sentiment.
How To Make this card:
1. I used VersaMark ink to heat emboss both the inside and the out sentiments with Nuvo Gold Enchantment sparkle embossing powder.
2. I trimmed the sentiments and adhered them to a mat layer. For the outside sentiment, I sprayed Just Squeezed Shimmery Bliss spray onto a piece of scrap paper for a perfectly matched mat layer. I adhered the sentiment with foam tape. For the inside sentiment I used copper foil cardstock as a mat layer.
3. I placed a piece of 4.25" x 5.5" Accent Opaque cardstock in my splat box (I use this when using sprays or splattering ink, etc.)
4. I placed the Big Candles Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs on top of the cardstock and sprayed Just Squeezed and Thulian Pink Shimmering Bliss spray over the stencil, which allowed the mica spray to settle into the open sections of the stencil. 5. I removed the stencil and allowed the spray to dry.
6. Shimmering Bliss sprays contain mica, and need to be set to avoid the product rubbing off on the recipients hands when they open their card. I used Aqua Net hairspray to set my Shimmery Bliss Spray
7. I used stitched rectangle dies to die cut the panel and a mat layer using
copper foil cardstock.
8. I added a few orange sequins to the front of the card. I actually sprayed several card panels using the stencil and shimmering bliss, so cut out some of the candles from one of the sprayed panels. I added these three candles to inside the card panel.
The card above features the "Young at Heart" sentiment on the outside and the "Slightly older in other places" sentiment on the inside. Snarky Sister Wishes
Who else likes to take tiny little snarky jabs at their siblings? All in good fun, of course. I come from a family of 6, so we are always gently ribbing one another.
