A Retro Pair

Deb here with a few more cards featuring stamps from the July Release . I love Retro images and couldn't wait to create with these 2 stamps !! I love the woman's face in Magician's Hat and the Arguing With a Woman stamp was begging to be paired with some retro floral papers !! I chose patterns for both cards that reminded me of my mom's aprons from the 1960's .. I really did laugh out loud when I read both of these sentiments !! Hope you love them as much as I do .

  • I stamped the image on a blue checked patterned paper with Nautical Blue Memento ink .
  • The paper was cut to fit on a yellow A2 card base and then adhered .
  • A strip of floral paper was adhered down the left side of the blue checked paper.
  • Enamel dots were placed above and below the stamped image.

  • Arguing With a Woman was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a blue floral patterned paper.
  • I adhered a pretty floral paper to a Kraft A2 card base .
  • The sentiment was popped up on the card with foam tabs.
  • I added a bow sticker at the bottom of the sentiment .

I hope you are all enjoying some creative time this summer. I'm in the process of destashing from several rooms and organizing my craft room  ( small space but well-loved ) . I know I will be thrilled when it is done but the task at times seems insurmountable !! I'll update you  when I've made some progress ..

Until next time, Stay Creative .

It's All About Summer

 Hello Technique Junkies!

Another fun background stamp was released this month. I'm a big fan of large stamps because you can get a handful of cards finished quickly, but you can also use parts of the stamp for different cards designs.

On the cards shown here I used distress oxide ink pads and randomly rubbed them on card stock.

Here are a few ways you can apply the ink:

- You can apply it directly to the stamp like I did on this card. I used bright green and red. I used a stamping platform so I could reapply the ink and stamp it a second time. I wanted it bold and bright.

- You can rub the ink pad directly onto the card stock and let dry.  The colors will be bolder if you don't spritz with water. After it dries use a dark color on the entire stamp (like the card with the daisy on it) so it stands out and has a nice contrast to the background colors.

- You can rub the ink pad onto a large piece of Saran Wrap or plastic surface. Choose two or three colors that complement one another and rub them on the plastic wrap in different spots. Spritz the areas with water then dab your card stock onto the color. Take a peek and see what area needs more color and dab it again. Let dry completely before you stamp on your background.

Now dig into your little odds and ends container and find some flowers, stickers, bows, and add some fun embellishments to finish off your cards.

Do you like the large background stamps?  Which ones do you have? Do you share your creations on the Technique Junkies Facebook page?  I sure hope you do. We LOVE to see what you create with TJ rubber stamps. And when you share it helps others feel more comfortable to post their creations too.

Wishing Star

 Greetings Junkies!  (Chris here)

One of my favorite things about summer is sitting outside and looking at the stars.   I'm only qualified to identify the big and little dipper, but I'm still amazing at sight of a starry sky.    This is one of the first stamps to capture my heart from the July release.

From Halo to Broomstick

This is me! From sweet to....well, maybe a little wicked rather quickly when pushed that way....

The two sentiment stamps are from Inside Out: Karma (Set of 10) from Technique Junkies; the girl stamp is the woman from The Rules stamp. The background is the Circular Vines background that was stamped Once, then turned 180 degrees and stamped again. All three stamps may be found here:

Ending Racism

Hello Crafters -

Nothing better than an awesome stamp set with a great quote! I created with the Ending Racism July 2023 released stamp.  I went with a red, green and black color scheme. I used a star die and cut it in all 3 colors and paper pieced, alternating the colors within the stars. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Tri Blend markers. Adding the white heat embossed sentiment really pulled this card together.
