A Floral Merry Christmas

Hello Everyone & Happy November!

I'm excited about the new November release! As always, it is loaded with a wonderful variety of stamps.  Let's start with the new gorgeous scripted Merry Christmas stamp.  It can give a classy pop to the front, inside of your card, or even your envelope flap... then there's gift tags, bookmarks, small gift bags...

On this card it was paired with #S996 Summer Flowers Frame from a previous release. You may have it already.  If not, and you'd like to check it out to see other examples of how the TJ Design team used it,  you can see it here.

To create this card:

1)  Stamp the floral frame around the card. 

2) Die cut a rectangle piece (you can cut a rectangle piece for this and use a corner punch if you have one).

3) Next I stamp the floral frame on parts of the rectangle piece (as much or as little as appeals to you).

4) Then stamp Merry Christmas in red in the center of the rectangle piece.

5) Now the fun part - Get out your green and red shades of markers or colored pencils, grab some coffee, turn on some music, and enjoy coloring the flowers and leaves. I think coloring is calming. How about you?

6) Last - Add foam to the back of the rectangle piece to raise it off the card.  No foam? No problem. Layer a few pieces of scrap card stock together and raise the piece up that way. There's always a way :)

This is the All About Halloween background stamp from TJ.  I love the different fonts and scary words that they incorporated into the design.  I can see myself reaching for this again and again.  I really wanted to highlight the words in this stamp.  I had some background left over from a pervious craft session.  I thought this one fit perfectly.

Skating in the Glow of Christmas Lights

Poinsettia Wreath

 

I love Christmas Cards in non-traditional colors! The Sketched Poinsettia Wreath stamp used here was colored with Copic markers in soft pinks and bright greens, then cut out. It is popped over a dotted embossing folder with light silver swipes over the raised areas. The sentiment is from the Oh Christmas Tree set. Both may be found here:

Draped Holly Bells Christmas Card

 

Hello everyone.  Design Team Member Michael here.  Can you believe that October is almost over?  Where did this year go?  At least the fun holidays start next.  LOL  

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made using the Draped Holly Bells stamp, which is part of the October 2023 New Release.

Being on the Design Team means I get the stamps before they are released so I can make samples.  I never got to use this stamp before the release and it was fun to get this idea out of my head.  

• I made an A2 card using white cardstock and I adhered one of the papers from the Christmas Market Collection from Carta Bella.  I thought the paper matched the stamp perfectly. 
• Next, I stamped Draped Holly Bells on a piece of white cardstock, colored in the image, and die-cut it using the largest oval die from the Petite Ovals Large set from Spellbinders (retired).
• Next, I die-cut a piece of red cardstock using the largest die in the Petite Scalloped Ovals Large set (retired).    
• I adhered the white oval to the red scalloped oval and then realized, I wanted this raised off the card front.  So I cut a piece of black fun foam using the largest oval die and adhered this to the back and then to the card front.   You can, of course, also use foam tape.  For me, fun foam is cheaper. 
• For my sentiment, I wanted a smaller very simple "Merry Christmas".  But I don't own one.  So I typed it up, printed it, die-cut it and adhered it to the card front. 
• Lastly, some stickles on the leaves and some small red crystals for the holly berries.

TJ Inkspirations: Zen Trees x 2

 

Outstanding Color Intensity! I have new sprays to share with you today, and a new tutorial on using them! I have added Aladine IZINK Sprays - in both Shiny and Dye (non-shiny). These gorgeous inks were made with Seth Apter - and the nozzles are "non-clog." Winner winner! I created one background and used it to make two cards using the Zen Trees and Stylized Peace Dove stamps. It was super easy, and these are just stunning in person! The tutorial is below.
