Hetty goes back to school!

As a teacher, I always I liked it when the kids came back to school and would find a nice  (but not to expensive) little present on their table with their name on it. This year they will find a little notepad on their table. You could also slip a post-it block in it's place. I have been doing these little blocks before, so if you like to see the other version, please go HERE.

I have made two versions: one for girls and one for boys.
You need a book clip and a (beer) coaster. The pupils are a digital stamp by FireCracker by Designs ( it is free this week until Friday!!) and the technique I used is called acrylic emboss from the new Newletter August 2010.
The text "welcome back" I made with the computer.

The girl and the boy I colored with copic markers and depending on the gender I used the right colors. The background is made with some nestibillities and stuck with some foam tape to the book clip.
For the girls notepad some flowers are added and for the boy I added a pen ( this is a stamp from Club Scrap), but you could also use a die of a pencil or an apple. But I quess you have your own ideas as to decorations.

If you are wondering about the size of the coaster, it is 3,5 x 3,5 inch.
On the boy version, I also used the acrylic emboss technique as a background to the picture. And no, the text is not a mistake, it is welcome back to school in Dutch!

Hope your class will be surprised seeing this and have a wonderful schoolyear 2010-2011!
