Bandana Technique

Hello friends. It's Beth Norman here and happy that summer has finally arrived to southern Ontario, Canada.  The air conditioning is on and got to go to the beach for the first time this year; the weather has been too cold and rainy.  I know my Texas and Idaho pen friends have been enjoying the heat for quite some time.

I found some inspiration on Pinterest for creating my Dragonfly card when I couldn't sleep and was up at 3:30 surfing the internet and stamping.  My cards also remind me of two previous cards I made using the Bandana Technique which can be found on the CD Simple and Easy Inking Techniques.

I rubbed ink all over my 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" cardstock with a sponge and stamped out my images with VersaFine and then added the white highlights.

Vintage Ship Collage Before and After

Good morning, it's Beth Norman, here with a before and after for you.  This beautiful Vintage Ship Collage, was stamped out on a background I created by simply spraying Dylusions spray onto white cardstock.  Once dry I stamped out my beautiful stamp from the Palenttini collection.

I used a white pen from Stampn' Up! to add highlights to the image.  Which is your favourite?

Good morning friends. Beth Norman here with another Bandana technique. Paired with this technique is the Attached Pocket Note Card technique from the Fancy Folds and Motion CD.

First, I started with my Bandana technique. Butterfly stamp is from My Favorite Things. Next, I went to the Fancy Fold and Motion CD to find a card that would work perfectly with my background. The Attached Pocket Note Card fit the bill.

Side Step and Bandanda Techniques

Good morning friends. Beth Norman here with a double technique card. First, I created my Bandana technique and then adhered it to the Side Step card. You can find the directions for the Side Step card on the Fancy Folds and Motion CD.

There are three different stamps used on my card: the small butterflies are from Hero Arts, the large butterfly is from My Favorite Things stamps and the sentiment is from Stampabilities.

Bandanna Technique

It's Evelyn here.....sharing one of my favorite  techniques:  Bandanna from Aug/Sept 2008.   I have all the new Distress Inks and have wanted to use them for something.   This particular card was created with Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire, and Pumice Stone.   ( I also tried a piece of glossy cardstock to see how the colors looked, but the Pumice Stone shows up better on the regular cardstock, as is used on this card.)   The blue layers are Bazzill's Bling line, and the flourish stamp is from Stampington.  The sentiment is from Verve stamps.

One note:   I've tried every kind of white pen, often with frustrating results.   However, I've discovered that the best pen for dots is a Galaxy White Marker, which is what I used for this card.   It has a bullet tip, so doesn't do fine lines.  But it does dots very well!

Bandana is here again!

Here is Hetty again with a technique from the past.
Didn't we all love the Bandana technique way back in August/September 2008?
I haven't seen it for a long time, so I got out my distress inks and my white gel pen. Especially now with all the new colors in destress inks it is a pleasure to work with these again. The white gel pen is great to use for accents, dots and lines. It gives the card something extra. All images you see are by Firecracker Designs by Pamela. But really any image can be used for this technique. If you don't like spongued backgrounds, if you more of a neat type of person, how about this bandana mandala card? Use the distress inks to color your stamped images with a small sponge or as I do, I love using those fantastix ( a reusable applicator by Tsukineko) and than use the gel pen for accents.
