Antique Big Hammer

Ann Clack here with a quick suggestion for you.  Do you often have a card that needs to be done in a hurry?  I often do!!  I have this box of pre-made backgrounds......you know......you dig out all your supplies to make a great technique and you just make a gajillion of them!  Well, that stash is a wonderful place to start when you are making a quick card.  Your card will look like it took more time than it really did.  Today's card used two TJ techniques.  The first (for the flowers) is the Big Shot Hammer.  The second is Antique Wallpaper.  So........next time you dig out all the supplies to work on a technique, make up lots of them in lots of different colors for those 'quick' card times.

Hetty's Fashion Frame

Hello Stampers!

Today I have a fashion card for you with all kinds of Tim Holtz items
and a sentiment by Create with TLC.
The background of this card is done with a wonderful new sewing
embossing die and used the Antique Wallpaper technique
of the Jun/Jul 2010. The  frame on the card is one of the
tutorials on the Stampbooking CD and is called Corrugated Frame.

The body is cut out of currugated cardboard with
a Tim Holtz sizzix die and painted with distress stain
and embossed with utee. Also stamped with white ink.
Hope I have given you some new ideas to try out
on your own cards.

Have a creative day!

TJ backgrounds for digital stamps

Hello Stampers!

Hetty here with some digital stamps. Have you tried them? I am getting into using them and some of the TJ background techniques are just great to use behind the colored digital stamps.
The digital stamps are by FireCrackers Designs by Pamela. The pinguin is one of her new
designs Pamela has made now that she is selling of her rubber stamps (75% on the last ones that are left).

The penguins have been colored with copic markers and cut out. I used some foam tape to stick them to the background. The background is made in the Antiqued Wallpaper technique June/July 2010 with a new embossing folder.
Here on the detail picture, you also see some snow. I used a puffy velvet marker for this.

Here another sample with the same Antique Wallpaper technique. Now if you want to try using digital stamps, you could use a freebie, like this Fall Kitty on FireCrackers blog HERE.
The Kitty is colored with copic markers and cut out. I have cut out three kitties for this picture.
I layered them with foam tape.

On top of the leaves some glossy accent is added to make the leaves shimmer.
The flowers and the leaves have are sizzix dies from Tim Holtz.
I crubled them a little with my hand to give them a more natural look.
The quote I found on the internet and is by Albert Camus:
"Autumn is a second spring when every leave is a flower."

Have a creative day!

Vintage Wallpaper by Judy Jackson

I chose this shell collage Cuttlebug embossing folder to use with this technique. I wondered how it would work for this super technique! Terrific. I layered some clear vellum over the top at an angle -- then I tied the bow. I attached the clear vellum with two colored brads. I added sentiment stamped on colored vellum and clear embossed. I laid that over the clear vellum. The different layers add texture and interest to the card. The card would be fine without the layers but I think it just brings it up a notch in added detail.
I love the Technique Junkie newsletter -- it enables me to learn new techniques that can spark my own creativity. I love it when someone say to me, "How did you do this?"
Stamp credits: Impression Obsession and Stampington and Company.
I hope you are having a wonderful week and are able to get in some stamping time!

Ann's Card for Father

Ann Clack here!  I hope that your summer is wonderful.....Oregon has just started their summer with TWO days of sunshine in a row.......!!!!  Here is a card I made for my hubby's daddy for Father's Day.  I used the Technique Junkie technique called Antique Wallpaper from the most recent newsletter.  It is so easy and I just love the results.  I ended up doing the deer oval THREE times!!  I wanted to stamp the leaves and grass around the deer but didn't want the stamping on the oval's border.  After two attempts and failures I decided that I would just draw it in!!  I do LOVE my itty bitty copic multiliners.  Their fine lines really make drawing stuff wonderful!  Hope you are inspired to get cards done for your daddy's!
