Being Your Sister

 

One  of the new dies this year that I have observed -- and confess that I have bought -- are piercing dies.  We don't have to use a needle tool and heavy plastic to pierce our paper, we can run the card stock through our machines and with one swipe we have pierce the card stock in an all over pattern.  I was able to achieve the green highlights in the pierced holes by painting a thin coat of green Shimmering Bliss spray all over the back.  The green spray soaked into the pierced holes and highlighted the holes! It really didn't take very much of the spray to create this great look.  

The focal image is Sister Birthday!  I stamped it in black Versafine  ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I used dye based markers to color in the image.

Make a Wish Rock Band

Good morning, Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I've got a fun birthday card to share with y'all.  Did you see the new Slimline Band Border stamp?  It's a long stamp with seven people on it and it's great for a slimline sized card.  But this stamp is so versatile, because you can very easily make it fit on a regular A2 sized card.  

I used a couple of sticky notes and placed them over the figures on the left and the right sides of the Slimline Band Border stamp.  Then I used my ink pad to ink up the five figures in the center of the stamp.  I made sure to remove the sticky notes from the stamp before I pressed the stamp onto my pale green paper.  See how easy that is?  Just a couple of sticky notes can help you transform this stamp from a slimline image to a regular A2 image.

I purposely stamped the Slimline Band Border a little higher on the green paper so I would have room for a sentiment underneath.  That space is perfect for the Hooray sentiment.  I love how it fits so well with the band border stamp.

How much fun is this stamp? The Sister Birthday stamp is perfect for having a snarky little fun with your sister. The background is the Sparkle Celebration Stamp embossed with red embossing powder on black paper.

People our Age

Hello and Happy Thursday! I am posting a couple fun and in my mind, a truthful sentiment! I always think people my age look older than me! For my first two cards I used the Older Than We Are sentiment. My first card is a roll off from some gelli printing and I thought it was so pretty. I used the world compass on the background and the sentiment and main image were matted in black and put on a white card base.

This card was super quick to put together. I used a stray piece of designer paper and I had some rub-ones and lace…and we’ll call it a day!

Lastly, I decided to post this regal guy. This is the small Hawk that I stamped in black and colored in with Zig watercolor brush markers. The background was sponged with marina mist. I matted it was a wood embossing folder and then rubbed vintage photo onto raised areas. Some twine and the fab sentiment.

Slimline Candles and Young at Heart

 Hello! Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter, here today with two colorful birthday cards created with two stamp sets from the February 2022 new release. Don't forget to use my coupon code: TJ10Tracy to save 10%. 

To create my cards, I used the Slimline Candles stamp set (#SL003) and a snarky sentiment from the Young at Heart, Set of 10 stamp set (#SS145). These cards are not slimline cards. They are A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") and Square (5" x 5") cards.

For both of my cards, I stamped the Slimline Candles stamp with VersaMark Ink. I heat embossed the stamped candles with gold embossing powder. I stamped the snarky sentiments with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink (black) then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.  I then colored the candles using Dual Brush markers in a rainbow of colors. I die cut the stamped panel and a mat layer of gold foil and layered them onto the card base.

A2 Rock Band

 

The Slimline Band Border from Technique Junkies is long enough to be used on a slimline or mini-slimline card, but is great for A2 cards, too! I always struggle with teen cards, so this stamp is great for filling that need. It pairs perfectly with the Rockstar Sentiments, too.

TJ Inkspiration: Ink Pushed Ribbon Celebration Card

 

So Easy - So Colorful! ‌ Today we have a very fast video for using a nearly-waterless watercolor technique we are calling Ink Pushing. By simply using the dye ink from the stamped image (plus a tiny bit of help from the lid of the ink pad for color intensity), creating a pretty ribbon background is easy-peasy. Rock Star

   Hello Friends!

I'm up today on the Technique Junkies blog, and am sharing some cards using stamps from the February release.

Today, I chose to work with Slimline Band Border, Rock Star Birthday Sentiments, and Slimline Candles.

Here's what I made:

The first card was stamped onto white cardstock, using Catherine Pooler Midnight Archival Ink. Some Grunge dots were stenciled onto the panel using Ink Blending Brushes and Distress Oxide Inks.

This card was created exactly like the first card, but the stenciling was done with the Falling Stars stencil.

The last card was stamped onto patterned paper. The Slimline Candles was stamped onto white cardstock, then again onto patterned papers. The patterned paper candles were paper pieced over top of the white panel, and popped up in front of the band image.

Greetings, crafty friends! It's Pam here and my day to post.

For my first card, I used the Sparkling Celebration for the background stamped in black. The sentiment is from the fabulous Inside Out: Young at Heart, Set of 10. On the inside it says, "(slightly older in other places)." Simple, quick and monochromatic.

My second card features the Ribbon Celebration

and the sentiment is from Sister Birthday, Set of 2. Another quick, monochromatic card. I just love these stamps as they pack a punch and they're quick to create!

Kisses and Wishes Birthday Shaker Card

 

Good morning! It's Holly posting today and I'm sharing a fun birthday card that I made with new stamps from Technique Junkies.  I started by stamping the new Sparkling Celebration background with some blue ink onto some matching blue cardstock.  Then I stamped the new Kisses and Wishes with the same blue ink onto white cardstock and loosely cut it out with scissors.  The sentiment was glued to the blue background and then I placed this panel inside a clear envelope.  Before I sealed it up, I poured in some blue/green, gold, and clear sequins.  Then I glued this filled clear envelope to a white card base.  It's such a fun and easy way to make a shaker card!

Big Candles

 When you think of how old you are and look, are you just a tiny bit surprised at how old your contemporaries look? I think most of us are! My mind's eye shaves off 10 years or so...

I used the Older than We Are stamp from Technique Junkies with the Big Candles stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. The candles were shimmered with the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Marker to add that extra shine.
