Moo Cards

Good morning Junkies!  As usual, I had to try something just a little different.  This time it was Moo Cards.

Yep, those little bitty cards that are 1-1/8" x 2-3/4".  Just a little bit of a challenge, but I like those. So, here are three I created:

For this card, I stamped one of the lanterns from the Lanterns stamp and colored it in with Art Anthology Vegas Gold and Ferrari Sorbet.  I masked off the center section of the card and then sprayed it with Art Anthology Plush Colorations.  I stamped Be Honest using the Be Silly stamp and masking off the part I didn't want.  I used the Misti on both the lantern and the sentiment to make sure I got a good image placed exactly where I wanted it.

I stamped the smallest stamp from the Batik Elements Set of 6 set with Versamark ink and embossed it with LSG Terra Cotta Plum EP.  I then sprayed the entire card with Art Anthology Siesta Key Colorations and stamped Classy and Fabulous in black Versafile ink.

For this last Moo, I stamped the top part of the lady from The Rules and embossed her with LSG Razzleberry Plum EP.  I then sprayed the entire card with Art Anthology Glorious Colorations.  On another sheet of paper that I had sprayed with Art Anthology Plush Colorations, I stamped Goofy Stuff and then trimmed the words until they fit the card.

Until later....................

America!

Happy Memorial Day!  Today we celebrate and remember those who have fought and died for our freedom!  We do live in an awesome country.

This card is created with a couple of Technique Junkie stamps - Falling Flowers http://techniquejunkies.com/falling-flowers/, and America Beats True - http://techniquejunkies.com/america-beats-true/.

I used red Art Anthology Gel Medium to paint the flower petals. I allowed that to dry well and then sprayed a light blue Art Anthology Colorations spray over the card. Then I quickly wiped off the excess.  Since the  gel medium resists the Coloration spray  the spray wipes up easily off of the red petals.  I mounted it on red then blue stock before adding the embellishments - except for ribbon being tucked around the red layer.

The focal image was colored with Copic markers and a matching blue was sponged on the surrounding areas of Lady Liberty. After this imaged was layered with red and blue card stock, Little white stars were adhered to the center of the flowers and under the word America!

This card shouts patriotism!  Have a great day and get inky!

Inspirational Tag Set

Hello Junkies!
Karen here today to share a set of tags I made using two of the New Releases.  I stamped onto DP and punched edges. And, of course, added lots of pretty ribbon. Take a look.

Materials List:
Stamps: Measure Herself and Falling Flowers both from Technique Junkies
Ink: Regal Rose (Stampin' Up)  and Jet Black Archival
Markers - Memento
CS: pale green
Decorative paper
Corner and Edge Punch
Ribbons

Make It:

  • Cut tags from the pale green CS
  • Stamp the Falling Flowers stamp with rose ink on DP
  • Cut the DP to fit onto the tags
  • Stamp Measure Herself image onto DP
  • Color the dress with markers

  • Punch the corners and edges of the DP and add to the tags
  • Punch holes in the tops of the tags and add the ribbons
  • Glue a piece of lace to the side edge of one of the tags

Aren't these fun!!  Love the falling flowers in the background too.  The tags would be cute on a gift bag or tucked inside an envelope with a little note on the back.  Would be a cute bookmark too.  Okay, see you again soon.  Have a great day!

Keep Calm

Hi fellow stamp artists, it's Beth Norman here with a Joseph's Coat technique card for you.  Recently I did a tutorial on how to do this technique which you can find here.

I fell in love with these two stamps and knew they would look good together.  I used Pom Pom Swag and Behave Yourself from the May release.

Have a great week!

You Are Strong!

Greetings Inky Friends!

I was SO excited to see THIS SET come out in the May Release !

It's a smaller grouping of 3 large images from
the Let's Face It Series of Palettini stamps.

For the background, I used a technique called
Criss-Crossed Washi from the Washi Tape & Ribbon CD.
If you're like me and bought (hoarded?!?) lots of Washi tape,
this CD is a MUST HAVE for fun, new ideas!!

The CHEVRON punched pieces uses the awesome PUNCH SYSTEM from Fun Stamper's Journey!

Here are a few more samples using techniques from that CD and lots of TJ Stamps!

Both star cards uses SIMPLE SENTIMENTS

The card and tea light box sentiments come from the PROVERBS set
and the background on the tealight box is Breath of Nature.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post on the "wonders of washi" and consider adding the CD to your next order!  June is right around the corner which means another New Release Blog Hop!!
So until then...

Happy Creating!!

Paris Anniversary

{jane bosi}  Happy Thursday, Junkies!! I have anniversaries on my mind!!  I've recently celebrated my one year anniversary at the best organization ever, 19 years of marriage and am looking forward to helping my parents celebrate 50 years of marriage next month!

My card today started with the beautiful Paletinni backgroud, Le Tour Eiffel, and a piece of water color paper.  Using the Non Stick Color technique (TJNL June 2011) I added various colors to the background before overstamping with the Love Hands image.  Later, I added the sentiment found in the Simple Sentiments 1a set.

Thanks for stopping by!!  Go on and get inky, now!

Jigsaw Puzzle

Good morning Junkies!  I've been playing around with jigsaw pieces again.  Every now and then I pull a couple out and work toward completing the entire puzzle.  Today I want to share two of the pieces I finished.

Working with such a small, weirdly shaped area does have it's challenges.   Thankfully, Technique Junkies has some sentiment stamps that work perfectly.

I painted the previously gessoed piece with Art Anthology Viridian Sorbet then stenciled that same color through the Dot Matrix stencil.  I stamped Life Full of Love with black ink and then embossed with Lindy's Angel Wing Mauve EP.  I added a wood heart embossed with PK Sparkling Red Rose EP, a wood flourish embossed with Lindy's Madonna Robe Blue Gold EP, and a rose.

For this piece I painted the background with Art Anthology Cayman Sorbet and then stenciled that same color through the Dot Matrix stencil.  I stamped Lock Us Up with black ink and embossed with Lindy's Angel Wing Mauve EP.  All the wood shapes were embossed with Lindy's Silver Moon Turquoise EP.  I also added a little silver trim to this one.

They are simple pieces but I love the tone-on-tone color scheme I used.

Until later...........

Be like A Sunflower

When I think of sunflowers I often think of farms and farms make me think of chicken wire.  So I used 2 different Technique Junkie stamps on this card. The background chicken wire is found here - http://techniquejunkies.com/chicken-wire-2/.  And the sunflower stamp can be found here - http://techniquejunkies.com/face-the-sunshine/.

The image is colored in with my Copic markers, Then I went over the petals with the iridescent Smooch paint that has the pink cap/handle.,I used Smooch paint to highlight the letters as well..

I was surprised when the iridescent Smooch paint gave the petal a hint of blue.  But it also worked with others colors I used.

Have a wonderful day -- and get inky!

London Calling!

Greetings Inky Friends!

I'm back to share a couple cards I created using one of the new May sets called London Calling.

I decided to use a really old technique called "One Sheet Wonder" where you stamp a whole bunch of images covering a sheet of 8.5x11 card stock and then cut up those "collaged" pieces to create your projects. I think this set lends itself to collage work really nicely!  I also think it's perfect to create some masculine cards ~ especially with the cute bowler hat and mustache!!

The Birthday Card also uses THIS SENTIMENT!

And this card uses another May Release called Behave Yourself!
If you haven't already, make sure to pop on over to the TJ website and check out all the great NEW GOODIES!

Until next time....

Happy Creating!!

Pretty Gift Bag with Dogwood Blossoms

Hello Junkies,
How is your week going?   Karen here today to share a pretty little gift bag.   While waiting for the planting season to begin here in Michigan, I have been having fun with the new May Release stamps from Technique Junkies.  I made a pretty gift bag using the Dogwood Branch stamp.  I used spray inks to color the bag, the lace, and twill tape.

Materials List:
Stamp: Dogwood Branch from Technique Junkies
Ink: Regal Rose and Real Red Stampin' Up
CS: white and pale green textured
Spray Ink: Lilac Posies Memento
Twill Tape - Natural
White Paper Doily
White Gift Bag size 5" wide x 8" high
Lace - White
Tulle
Glitter Glue
Hole Punch

Make it:

  • Spray the bag, twill tape, and lace with spray ink; let dry
Tip: Spray the items on a large sheet of packing paper- white or kraft.  (I always save these papers when I open up packages)  The over spray will make a nice pattern on the paper.  The paper can be used for backgrounds in other projects when cut to size.  I always do this and am so surprised how good the paper looks.
  • Glue the paper doily to the bag
  • Cut a tag from pale green CS; punch hole in end
  • Glue a piece of the lace to the long edge of the tag

  • Ink the Dogwood Branch with Regal Rose and dot red ink on the centers of each blossom; stamp on White CS.  Stamp another image for layering
  • Cut apart the blossoms
  • Add to the green tag and add a second layer to two of the blossoms
  • Tie twill tape and tulle through hole on tag
  • Add tag to bag

  • Place a few drops of glitter glue on finger and rub onto the tag- wash hands- LOL
  • Put glitter glue in the centers of each blossom

  • Glue a piece of the lace to the upper right corner of bag
  • Tie tulle and twill tape in bow and glue over the lace

The dogwood blossoms add such a pretty touch to this little gift bag.  I can fill this little bag with goodies and give to someone special for a birthday, graduation, or bridal shower.  And, the bag could also be used to hold cards or supplies.
Thanks for stopping by today.  You can check out all the Technique Junkies stamps here.  See you next time

God Save The Queen

Hello Junkies!

Kathy, The Crafty Nurse here today with a more Technique Junkies inspiration using "London Calling Set of 9 #SS056" from the May release.

The background uses "French Text #S246" stamped with Aged Mahogany and Antique Linen Distress Inks. This is a great set for cards, art journals and even ATC's given the size.

Sure hope you find some time to get your fingers inky today and I'll see you later on this month for more junkie goodness.

See you then!

There is Always Hope

Hello fellow stampers.  This is Beth Norman and I'm sharing a technique that always intimidated me, and boy was I wrong.  So wrong, that I plan on making ten more of these babies for my sister.

The technique I used is called Diagonal Images Background and is from the February 2014 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.

Stamps:  Stylized Roses
              Always Hope

Have a super week!

Play Ball!

{jane bosi}   Good Morning, Junkies!  There is little more that I like to do, at this time of the year, than watch my kiddo play ball!  The new Swing For The Fences set is right up my alley!!
Here in Wisconsin, the sentiment that reads "there are only two seasons....baseball and winter!" really rings true.  A sleeping bag, sunglasses and umbrella are about all you need to get through a game around here these days!  I love this sentiment so much, I paired it with the Baseballs background image for a quick, but impactful card.  I added some baseball stitching with red floss to pull it all together.
All of these great images are available in the store---BUT, don't forget, the May releases are also STILL on sale! It's a great time for a shopping spree! Go be awesome! TTFN, Jane

London

Good morning Junkies!  I've got a couple of ATCs to share with you today.  They feature two of the new May releases and were perfect for creating ATCs.

For my London ATC, I used the new London ATC stamp.  I stamped it on black card with Versamark ink and then embossed it with white EP.  I added some Maya Road rub-ons around the edges and a couple of Tim Holtz stars.

For my second ATC, I used the Fairest of Them All stamp.  I started by spraying my card (I used Bristol ATCs) with Art Anthology Waimea Bay and drying with my heat tool.  I then stenciled with the Art Anthology Rosette stencil using Just Peachy Sorbet and leaving an unstenciled area in the middle.  I stamped Fairest of Them All with Verafine Black Ink and embossed it with LSG Razzleberry Plum EP.  I cut out an image that just fit inside the mirror and glued it on.  I painted the mirror with Art Anthology Ferrari Sorbet and Metallique Silver Spoon by Prima.  Finally, I outlined my stenciling with a white gel pen.

I hope you enjoyed today's projects.  Don't forget, all new releases are 15% off through May 8th.

Happy Stamping!

Dogwood Blossoms that Match My Own Tree!

For those who know me well -- they know I love flowers - flowering bushes, flowering trees, bulb flowers, annual, perennials, and especially "winter over pansies!"  I have silk flowers in my house so I can have flowers all of the time.   My regret regarding flowering trees is that they last such a short time.   So I try to space them out. I have this lovely dogwood tree and in August I have a Crepe Myrtle!  But then if  those trees and bushes bloomed all of the time we wouldn't appreciate their blooms as much. And if they apple, cherry, pear, peach, and veggie blossoms didn't change we would miss out on all those yummy things to eat.  So I will be grateful for the blossoms when they come.

And my Dogwood tree is in bloom as I write this in late late April.  We had had a hard winter with lots of snow --and that is hard on a dogwood tree. So my whole tree is not in usual full bloom.  And these trees tend to be on the smaller side anyway.   So this is the top part of my tree.

And here is my card. Do you see how the blossoms match?  This is a beautiful Technique Junkies May Release called __________________ - _________________________.
And the Birthday Wishes stamp just goes with this card -- http://techniquejunkies.com/birthday-wishes/.   Quite fun and whimsical.
I used my Copic markers to color the image and sponged in the sky.

And don't forget the Dogwood Branch  stamp http://techniquejunkies.com/dogwood-branch/  is a Technique Junkie May 'release and is on sale for 15% off until May 8! So go shopping -- it's a sale already!

And if you did not read my blog post from yesterday's Blog Hop - I have a contest on my blog. So please read it at http://judysstampart.blogspot.com/2016/05/oh-merry-merry-month-of-may-and-new.html  and please a comment before May 5.

Have a great week and get inky!

May Blog Hop -- New stamps, new inspiration!

Welcome to the hop! Today is May 1st and that means that it is release day! We have a baker's dozen of new stamps for you that you will just adore! To celebrate, the Technique Junkies Design Team is featuring a BLOG HOP! Not only that, but the May Release Stamps are 15% off through May 8th. Simply make your selections, and all the May releases will automatically be discounted at checkout. Now for a little inspiration:
First up is a creation using two of the new releases. The bottom layer uses the 9 stamps in the London Calling Set to create a collage background. Layered over it is the London ATC. I think they work smashingly together.

But it IS May, so how about a few flowers?
On this 4" x 4" card, I used the Dogwood Branch Stamp with one of the sentiments from the Beautiful Faces Stamp Set. The flowers were colored with Copic Markers and the background is the Cracked Stencil (from Art Anthology) that has been stenciled with ink.

One more on this blog before I release you to the hop:
This simple card uses the Mama and Baby Background stamp with two of the stamps from the Beautiful Faces stamp set. Isn't that just perfect -- and unexpected -- for Mother's Day?

Now that you have seen a few things that I have created, let's move on to the hop (more from me later in the hop line-up). Simply follow this list to the end, then go shop -- make sure you get your 15% off the new stamps!

Here is the line-up:

I hope you are inspired by our Blog Hop Today...Have fun and Happy May!
