Faith Requires Trust | Easter Card

 

Hello everyone, and Happy Saturday.  With Easter right around the corner (March 31st) I wanted to share this card I made using the new Faith Requires Trust stamp, part of the March 2024 Stamp Release, and 15% off through Friday, March 8th. 

I wanted to make a very simple pastel-colored Easter card.  

• I made a top-folding A2 card using light green cardstock.
• I cut a piece of white cardstock, embossed it using the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder from Stampin Up, and adhered it to the green cardstock.  This is a retired embossing folder but you can still find them online to buy.  
• I die-cut a piece of light pink cardstock using a stitched rectangle die, which I adhered in the center of the embossed frame.  
• I stamped Faith Requires Trust on a piece of light yellow paper with white polka dots, trimmed it, and adhered it inside the pink cardstock.  
• To finish the card, I die-cut some leaves and flowers, adhered them on the top and bottom of the sentiment, and added a small crystal inside the flowers.

Done!

Easter Bunnies...celebrating Spring

Easter is just around the corner! Nothing celebrates the sweet renewal feel of the season like this Spring Bunny.  I love this little guy! I just adore his realistic look, and the tulip he is paired with can be colored in many ways, making it a very versatile stamp. 

I colored him with Copic markers, and I chose to make my tulip a strong red to make it really stamp out. After coloring, I cut him out, then placed my bunny over a panel stamped with Happy Easter and matted that to match red of my tulip. 

When searching for a background, I thought the Sketched Tulip stamp was just perfect, so I stamped it in green, in alternating directions, using my MISTI to line up the stamp perfectly on the background. I wanted a springtime, sketchy-flower feel, and I think this stamp truly did the trick.

This season, I am fortunate to have booth my boys home for the Easter holiday --  one of the many blessings I have to keep my heart full.

Spring Bunny on Sprayed Textured Newsprint

Happy Saturday, everyone! I'm here with a mildly mixed media Easter card using new the new March stamp, Spring Bunny and many more cheerful products! Isn't it time for more spring projects?

I mentioned before that this card is mildly mixed media, but with a little bit of uniformity, you could create a traditional card with the same supplies. Here's how the sample is designed in the photo!

Supplies:

• Spring Bunny
• Textured Newsprint
• Simple Sentiments 1B
• Nuvo Mousse -  Pacific Teal
• Classic Harlequin Stencil 6 x 6
• Shimmering Bliss Sprays Vivid Volt and Miami Vice
• Black Waterproof Ink
• 2-3 color ink pads
• Watercolors (paints, markers or pencils ~ your choice!)
• White, Kraft and colored cardstock 
• Stencil Brush
• Adhesive
• Foam Adhesive
• Twine

Instructions:

1. Ink the Textured Newsprint Background stamp with 2-3 spring color ink pads using a single color at a time cleaning between each color so the inks won't stain other ink pads. Stamp on white cardstock and trim to only the edge of the image.
2. Spray top half with Miami Vice Shimmer Spray and bottom corners with Vivid Volt.
3. Stencil Nuvo Mousse on top with Harlequin stencil. Repeat on the bottom with another color mousse or darker inks.
4. Randomly stamp Easter sentiment on the top half of background image in waterproof black ink. Adhere to coordinating color cardstock and tie twine around the top before adhering to kraft card base.
5.  Stamp Spring Bunny with black waterproof ink. Color with watercolors then trim around image leaving a white border.
6. Adhere Spring Bunny with foam adhesive to card base.

Classic Variation: Try a more uniform background by using a single color for the Texture Newsprint stamp, stencil in a complementary color over the complete image and then add a single stamped sentiment near the tied twine.

Hetty is in the mood for Easter

As Easter is around the corner (and this year it is also my birthday) I have been planning some blog candy on my own blog.

This was one of the techniques I hadn't tried yet from the last newsletter and because the new one is around the corner (can't wait to see it in print) I picked one i did not do. I must confess it is just too easy and with a wonderful result. I did a few backgrounds, so over the group you will see some more in the next few days.

All the papers are from Club Scrap, the chocolate bunny and the sentiment are by Stampin Up! and the egg is by Michael Strong. On the bracelet I used Mike's mini egg on shrink plastic.
