Gone Fishing | Jumping Fish Father's Day Card

Hello everyone and welcome to the last Saturday in March.  This year is just flying by.  Well, tomorrow is Easter and before you know it, it's going to be Father's Day.  Do you have a dad who loves to fish?  This card might be perfect for him.

  • I started with a top-folding A2 card base using a navy bluish cardstock.
  • I die-cut a piece of scrapbook paper with a light wave design on it using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die.
  • Then I embossed it using the Waves 3D Embossing Folder from Memory Box and adhered it to the card front.
  • I stamped Jumping Fish Linograph on a piece of white cardstock and then used a cloud stencil and blue ink to make the sky behind the fish.
  • I adhered this to a piece of the same blue cardstock and then to the card front.
  • Lastly, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock with the same 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, stamped Happy Father's Day, and adhered this to the inside of the card.

All you need to do is write a message.

I hope you have enjoyed this fast Father's Day Card idea and I want to thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

A Close Knit Family

I AM super lucky to have a close knit family!

On the inside it reads, “In another city!”

I am in Colorado and they’re in Ohio🤣

I do wish we lived close…I promise.

I stamped the Flower Sweep (new this month) on a fun piece of designer paper and painted with shimmering watercolors. Matted with a piece of turquoise card stock and on white card base. The sentiment is from the new Inside Out: No Good Advice and was diecut with a stitched die and put on dimensionals.

Head on over and do some shopping! Use my code TJ10Pam

Quick & Simple Card

 Hello Crafters -

Are you ready to create a fun quick and simple card? Todays card is featuring the Faith Requires Trust and Butterfly4 stamps.

I began by stamping the Faith Requires Trust in the center of the white card stock. The butterfly stamp was randomly stamped along the top and bottom of the white card stock. To add color I took a few ink cubes I and randomly stamped them along the top and bottom of the card stock directly stamping on the butterflies.
I added gold glitter gems to the heads of the butterflies. It really was quick and simple and made for a beautiful card!

I hope you were inspired and use your TJ stamps to create something similar using this technique. Use TJ10Shalana at checkout. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Old World Script

Deb here with a different take on the Old World Script stamp from the Technique Junkies March Release.  It's a wonderful script that I decided to stamp and then cut into hearts for a fun slimline card ..

  • I stamped the Old World Script image with Nautical Blue Memento ink onto a piece of blue wood-grain patterned paper .
  • The  hearts were punched with a paper-punch .
  • I made a slimline card base from a piece of blue and white striped patterned paper.
  • I used nautical-themed stickers from Paper House Productions on the card base .
  • I placed 3 Old World Script hearts down the middle of the slimline card using foam tabs.

Thank you for stopping by to see my latest card from the March Release .  Remember to use my code - TJ10Deb - when you shop at Technique Junkies . It will save you 10% on your order .  I hope you are enjoying some wonderful Spring weather wherever you are ..Until next time, Happy Stamping !!

Faith on Fabric

                                                            Hello TJ Friends!

Have you ever added fabric to a card?  I’ve shared this in the past, but in case you missed it…I’m sharing this technique again. If you have some miscellaneous fabrics in your stash or you know a friend that has some - grab some scraps and give this a try.

I’m a tactile person which means I like to touch and feel things. That is one reason I make cards that have fabric on them. They are also unique and one-of-a-kind.

One easy way to make these cards is to start with a heavy card stock base (or repurpose one). Next you’ll gather random size fabric strips, paint glue onto your card with a brush, and add your strips. Be sure to flatten them out. And it’s okay if they dangle off the edge of your card, let them dangle…you’ll trim them after they’ve thoroughly dried on your card.

After it has dried and you trimmed off the excess fabric, add your embellishments and sentiment. Boom! Done!

On this card I used the Faith Requires Trust stamp released this month - plus a button and leaves.

*Stamp your image or sentiment in a color that harmonizes with your fabrics.

Disco Ball

 Greetings Junkies,

I love encouragement cards!  Adulting is hard and I think we need than more than ever before.  I was so excited to see this new sentiment from Technique Junkies.

To make this card I used mirror card stock and glitter card stock.  I wish the camera could capture the sparkle.  I love the mix of texture between the mirror and the glitter.  I used a round circle for the sentiment because disco balls are round.  Simple, but I thought it was the right choice!

I hope you feel inspired and you remember that you are a a bright light... don't be afraid to shine!

Tornado-esque?

Something about the Zen Circles stamp from Technique Junkies reminds me of the Wizard of Oz - maybe because it is tornado-esque, or because it all seems a little dream-like. I was determined to use the Flying Monkeys sentiment from the Wisdom of Oz set - and what better to put with it than a monkey? This odd little guy is called "Monkey in a Dress" - but works pretty well nonetheless. All three stamps may be found here:

Easy and Fast Mid-Century Modern Birthday Card

Hello everyone, and Happy Saturday.  When I saw the Mid-Century Modern Borders I knew I had to make a birthday card for a friend here who LOVES anything modern or minimalistic.    She also loves black and white and that makes this idea even easier.

The first thing I did was to die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die, stamp the two Mid-Century Modern Border stamps - facing each other - using my Misti, and then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Floral Framed Sentiments Set of 6.

I cut a piece of black fun foam and adhered it to the back.  Then I went through my paper stash and found a piece of black and white paper, which I adhered to the front of my A2 card front.  Then I adhered my stamped piece to the card front.

To finish the card off, I adhered a few black enamel dots to the card front.

Done.  I'm sure the dots, paired with the rectangles, is going to drive my friend nuts but I love how this turned out and it's so fast to make.  If you see anything on the Technique Junkies website, you can save 10% on those items at checkout by using my code - TJ10Michael.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

Baking With Love

Deb here with a fun card using the Inside Out : No Good Advice stamp set from the March Release. It includes 5 snarky sentiment duos that just crack me up !! I chose too use the baking combo because it brought back lots of sweet memories of being in the kitchen with my mom as a child .. We made hundreds of dozens of chocolate chip cookies over the years she always called them "Toll House" . And if you knew my mom, you know that she never ever met a recipe that she actually followed word for word . She always added something extra or changed it just a little - she called it "doctoring it up".. I think she would have absolutely loved this card that I made ..

And the fun part of this card is that I cut out an extra oven door and adhered it to the oven so it opens .. AND that is where I put the snarky "inside" saying !! Isn't that the cutest ?!?!?

  • I stamped the "outside" saying with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of patterned paper with a cute kitchen scene.
  • I cut the oven door out of another piece of paper leaving some excess below the door.
  • The stamped panel was adhered to a kraft card base.
  • The "inside" sentiment was stamped with Teal Zeal Memento ink on a scrap piece of the same patterned paper with the oven on it  and then trimmed.
  • I adhered that sentiment on the oven door on my cad base
  • I folded the bottom  edge of the oven door paper and adhered it to the front of my card right over the original oven door .
  • I placed a piece of removable double-sided tape at the top pf the oven door so it could be opened and closed .
  • Red rhinestones were placed along the pattern at the top of the card .

Thanks for stopping by to see my card !! It honors my mom who I lost 30 years ago . I might just make some Toll House cookies today . Have a great day !!

Illuminated Manuscript

I adore this new Old World Script background stamp!  I stamped it on parchment-look paper and added some gold gel pen flourishes.  Decorated with a public domain panel from an illuminated manuscript that I printed on my computer and a couple of strips of velvet ribbon held in place with gold brads.  Get this and all the new March stamps at TechniqueJunkies.com and use my code TJ10FAITH for 10% off your order!

Dear Wine

Happy Wednesday!!! Today I am sharing this fabulous and silly sentiment from the new March set, Inside Out: No Good Advice, set of 10. On the inside it reads, “I’ve seen the video. We need to talk.” Super fun set! I used Catherine Pooler inks and made a monochromatic card. I used a spiral notebook punch to make it look like the message was taken out of a notebook. A dark purple mat, some ribbon and rhinestones and we can call it done!
