Washi Weave

Hi Technique Junks!

Hetty here, with one of the techniques rom the
Oct/Nov 2013 newsletter. Have you tried them?
Today I need a quick one, for I am just back
from the Club Scrap retreat in Kiberley Wisconsin
(whisch ofcourse was fantastic, meeting friends
and getting so much new inspiration).

I chose the online bonus technique:
Washi Weave.
There are so many diffrent rolls of
washi paper around and a lot of people
are trying to find some fun use
for it. How about using it
for decorating the background paper?
Halloween inspiration with Tim Holtz
Mini Halloween 3 stamps that I just
bought in the US in my short shopping time
in between workshops.

It was fun to create cards again, but now i have to
go back to do some mor unpacking and gettin
my craft room organized with all
the new goodies!

Have a creative day!

Pasted Dylusions vs 3-D Gold by Judy Jackson

Good day from Judy Jackson.  Pasted Dylusions are just fun.  Since there are two techniques in the latest TJ newsletter, I thought it would be fun to make to two cards, using the same stencil, the gold or copper stuff, and see how different the two cards would look.

Stamps for Pasted Dylusions card are Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

Stamps for 3-D Gold are Studio G.

Have you tried any of these techniques yet?  Do you have a favorite between the two techniques?

Pasted Dylusions

Well hello everyone. I have been trying to catch up as I have been ill since I got home from OZ. So here is my contribution to the Technique of the Week

It is cooling off here in the desert and it feels like spring....hence the colors and the dragonflies, LOL!
PLEASE try this technique if you haven't yet as it is so much fun and easy to put a dazzling card together in a jiffy. The sentiment is from The Stampin Place.
Thanks so much for looking. See you soon!

Holly Brown: Pasted Dylusions Thoughts

Hello Junkies, it's Holly posting today.  Our Technique of the Week this time is the Pasted Dylusions technique from the latest issue (October/November 2013).  I had never tried this one before, and I had so much fun making these backgrounds, I just kept on spraying and spraying and spraying.  I now have a nice little stash of Dylusions sprayed backgrounds.  I paired this colorful background with the grungy harlequins and I love how it turned out.  So in order to make sure you can see the background, I kept the card simple with a sentiment from Stampin Up and some purple ribbon.

What is so cool about this technique is that I used white instead of gold just to try something, and the white seems to take on the colors of the background underneath.  That was a neat find.  I'm also experimenting with other colors such as copper and a really neat glitter medium that I just bought today.  It is just plain fun to play, I tell ya!!  :-)

Technique of the Week - Pasted Dylusions

Good day from Judy Jackson!  The fall weather has been lovely.  But I do not enjoy winter anymore -- so I am enjoying the fall weather while it lasts!

Dylusions Spray color is so lovely and so intense they are just fun to play with!

The focal image is from Paper Bag Studios and the words are from Markie's Finest Papers - a Heinrich Company.  The focal image was colored in with Copic markers.

And I just couldn't resist making a second card with these running zebras!  The Zebras are from Beeswax Rubber Stamps.  I only used two of the three zebras on the stamp.  The retired cheesecloth background stamp is from Stampin' Up.

This is a fun technique -- you never know exactly  how the background will turn out -- but you can know this: the colors are so beautiful and rich, you know it will be lovely!  And then adding the gold accents, oh my. It is a striking technique!  Have you tried it yet?

I hope you all are having a great day!  Be inky!

Glittery Washi Window

Hi fellow stampers, Beth Norman, here with Glittery Washi Windows.  My window was created by using an Impression Obsession die.  The purple background stamp was heat embossed using an Impression Obsession background stamp.  The sentiment is from Stamp'n Up!

To my fellow Canadians, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.  Our weather was beautiful and couldn't have been nicer for the outdoor potluck pool party.  Temperatures were nice and the pool was a nice 90 degrees, so yes, Canadians can swim in the fall--LOL.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Distress Stain Watercoloring

Hi everyone! Jackie K here. I have returned from the Land Down Under where I spent a lovely 3 months on vacation.

This technique is from the April/May 2013 Newsletter. I don't know about you but I LOVE to color  It doesn't matter to me what the medium is, I just LOVE to color. I find it so relaxing.. The Distress Stains are a perfect product to watercolor with as you can get very subtle hues to very dark ones. The Paris stamp in the background is one of my very favorites from PSX. The stamp of the very chic woman is from Hero Arts.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you back here in two weeks!

Designer Paper Perfection CD Blog Hop by Judy Jackson

Good morning and happy Blog Hop day to all you from Judy Jackson.  I love good Blog Hops and I think you will find this one is great!

One of characteristic of paper crafters is that well, we love paper.  Slick papers, rough papers, shiny papers, decorative papers, bold patterned papers, vintage papers, quilt papers, dictionary papers, floral papers, card stock papers, vellum papers, steam punk papers, metallic papers, and more!  It doesn’t matter, we love it all.  We love to run our finger tips over paper, we love to smell certain papers, we love the various weights of papers, we can dream about papers, and we think up projects to use papers.  We enjoy looking at papers – all kinds of papers! If you were go into a paper crafter’s craft room, you will nearly always see PAPERS – stacks of papers, files of papers, drawers of papers, boxes of papers – and yet we BUY MORE!!  We love papers!

But all paper crafters know that it is often “just the right piece of paper” that will really “make their project.” Thus, there is this need to buy more paper so we have just what we need for a project.  And if we don’t have that just right paper, we are not opposed to go shopping for more --- PAPER!

So for all paper crafters, this new Technique Junkie CD called Designer Paper Perfection is for us – the paper crafters!  This CD will inspire the paper crafter inside each of us.  It may make a paper crafter go through their stacks and stacks of papers and create new cards, new projects, and incorporate new techniques into scrapbook pages.  Yeah for paper crafting! Yeah for PAPERS!

to order this CD. All of the info is there. Trust me – if you like using designer paper you will like this CD!

The first technique I am using today is called Nine Block Quilt.   As the name implies you use nine blocks – but how you get those nine blocks is – well I can’t tell you. You will need to get the CD!

The stamps about quilts is one of those unmounted stamps whose manufacturer I do not know. The "dream" stamp is by Stamp Camp (http://www.stampcamp.com/)  - a vendor of Technique Junkies -.

The second technique I will highlight is Circle Square Quilt. This technique uses  circles and squares as you might guess.  My two cards are very different in appearance even though they both use the very same technique.  This is one of the things I love about stamping and various techniques.  You can use the same technique and often the same stamps and have very different cards.  The first card is bright and colorful. The different sections of the quilt are easily identified. The stamps companies are Stampin' Up and Markie's finest papers, a Heinrich Company - a vendor of Technique Junkies - (http://www.marksfinestpapers.com/servlet/StoreFront).
My second card for this technique has an aged look to it.  Both the colors of the designer paper and the stamps from Stampers Anonymous and Stamp Camp (http://www.stampcamp.com/)  - a vendor of Technique Junkies - add to this aged and distressed look. The different sections of the quilt are not so easily identified because of the papers I chose.

Are you ready for the next designer in the hop? Nancy will have something wonderful to show you, I am sure!  Here are all of the stops along our Blog Hop today.   If you get lost, you can come back here to find your place once again.

Jane Bosi         http://janesaddiction.typepad.com
Pat Huntoon         http://patstamps.blogspot.com
So now I have two questions for you -- Which card did you like best of these four I made to show you? and why are you waiting to order the Designer Paper Perfection CD?You can order it right here -- in top right column.
Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the Blog Hop!  The TJ Design Team wants to inspire you!

Polished Metal

Today I am sharing a card I made with a digi image from Make It Crafty.  It allows me to explore my steampunk obsession right now.   I colored the image with my copics.  I used another background technique that I learned from my new class over at Color Me Creative Classroom.  The background is done with the Technique Junkie newsletter called Polished Metal.

A Little Something for a Little Someone

Hello Junkies.  Beth Norman here with a Glittery Washi Window shower card for you.  I enclosed this card with my daughter's wedding shower gift in August.  I just love how it turned out.  The Impression Obsession heart die was large enough to show lots of Washi Tape and still allowed me to place a Stampn Up sentiment in the center without hiding this technique.  Also, my bird die is from Impression Obsession, one of our sponsors.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team has for you this week.
