I spritzed the background with a glimmer spray. It really shimmers!
The burgundy layer behind the focal image is a burgundy vellum and it is hard to tell that from the scanned image. I used the focal image to stamp the background in a random way. Then I sponged highlights of color over the images until I got a vintage feel. I feel like having a cup of tea about now!
