One Last May Release Card!

I love peach with gray.  There is something so classic about that combo.  When I picked up this gorgeous background stamp, Floral Dot, from Technique Junkies, I knew I wanted to stamp it in peach.  I love the subtle floral design on this stamp.
I used distress inks for stamping my background onto peach card stock.  I layered it on a dark peach card panel, then onto an A2 gray card.  I wrapped gray embroidery floss around and tied a bow.

The verse, Began To Fly, is also Technique Junkies.  I stamped it in gray Ranger archival ink.

The butterfly is from TJ's Peony Collage stamp.  I fussy-cut it from the stamped image, added color, then added some shimmer with my Spectrum Noir clear shimmer pen.  A few sequins finish off my card today.

Life's A Hoot!

Happy weekend! It's Janelle with a hoot and holler for those in the US to have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Feeling like a special discount?

at Technique Junkies!

My inspiration for today is a few tips that I use while I'm in the creative process and ones that happened who doesn't want to see more of the new You Are A Hoot Owl stamps!!!!

Frome left to right in the photo each element has a tip I'd like to share, and I hope they help next time you have a creative block as to what to do.
  • Give your layers interest by adding hand drawn elements. My sentiment layer not only has a hand drawn frame it was cut out by hand along the lines.
  • When I want to plan a layer of color on a monoprint like the lilac color on the card today, use a piece of paper the size of your finished cut to place underneath the printing plate. Now you'll know where to place the color. In this case, I wanted it just around the edges.
  • Pencil a cut line around an image before you cut it out to help keep the distance the same.
Now for how to assemble the card.

Featured Products:
  • White and black cardstock
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (or safe for alcohol markers)
  • Acrylic Paint, brayer and monoprint plate (optional)
  • Sponge
  • Alcohol Markers or coloring medium
  • Permanent Black Pen
  • Glue
  • Foam adhesive
Instructions:
  1. Fold in half 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inch white cardstock for card base.
  2. Roll light red paint onto monoprint plate, and place Circles Make Circles stencil down pressing in gently. Remove stencil and set aside. Press white cardstock onto the plate and remove, Set aside. Add darker red paint and roll out with a brayer and press same cardstock onto the plate. Use tip 2 above with lilac paint. Stencil white Dream Words directly on the paper plus more red circles with a sponge. Set aside to dry and then trim to desired size and frame with slightly larger black cardstock. Adhere to card base.
  3. Use Nuvo Glitter Marker to add accents on the circles. I made random dots on the circles stenciled.
  4. Stamp Owls with black ink on white cardstock and color.
  5. Pencil cut lines around owl(s) and trim.
  6. Stamp sentiment with black ink, pencil frame, and trace with a permanent black writing pen.
  7. Cut out the sentiment and adhere to card base.
  8. Add foam adhesive to back of owls and glue onto card base.

TJ Inkspirations: Patriotic Mousse and Paste

Today we are combining Nuvo Mousse and Paste is always a good idea. They can be used together in a variety of ways, and today I am showing you one of the simplest. What better way on this Memorial Day weekend than as a Patriotic card?

Simply put, I used Metallic Mousse over a dry embossed background, then topped if off with background and top it off with Moonstone Glimmer Paste.

Here are the stamps I used for to finish the card:

A friend like you

Hello friends!! Giovana here today with a super simple and sweet card. Let me tell you a little something about this card. I had in mind something completely different, but my flower didn't turn out the way I wanted, the background was very messy and I was getting ready to toss the piece to the garbage, then I decided to cut out the poppy from Poppy Bouquet and colored it with alcohol markers over the watercolor coloring I did before, then I liked it, hehe.

The oval piece is a leftover from THIS project, were I used the Gingham background, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of black cardstock in versamark watermark ink, then added white embossing powder and heat set, the sentiment is from Friend Like You.
Finally I added pink sequins and pearls.

Remember , you can get all these stamps with a 10% discount using my super duper discount code TJ10Giovana

Hope you like it.
Have a fantastic day!

A Colorful Life Stencil Designs

Did you know that in addition to a huge collection of unique red rubber stamps, the Technique Junkies store also has a fabulous line of Stencils by A Colorful Life?

And remember, if you go shopping at Technique Junkies, use my discount code TJ10Stephanie at checkout for 10% off your purchase.

For today's card, I used Stencils over some of the Gel Press prints from my stash.  I made these using bubble wrap during one of my classes at Creativation.

This stencil is called Rough Edge Circlezz Stencil.  I sponged Blue Print Distress Ink on top of my Gel Press Paper.

To paint my sweet little She Is Fierce Birdie, I used a paint brush that still had some gold paint leftover from my Life and Beer card and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, which produced a lovely pink shimmer.

For the next card I used the Classic Harlequin Stencil and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over a gold Gel Press print.  The ink didn't want to stick to the painted background, so I used clear embossing powder over the sponged ink.

The sentiment is from the new fun set of Inside Out Stamps called Live Forever (there are 10 stamps in the set ... such a great deal).

Here's the *snort* inside sentiment and a piece of the Gel Press paper before I added the stencil.

Go check out the pages of awesome stencils in the Technique Junkies Store ... and use my discount code for 10% off your purchase.

A DUSKY CITYSCAPE

Hello Technique Junkies!!!!

What a busy and exciting month May has been for us!  First, we had the awesome new release of stamps for this month on May 1st, and then last week we rolled out a new line of stamps from Technique Junkies Stamps newest illustrator, Rita Barakat

All stamps from the Technique Junkies stores, as well as the new stamps from both releases can be purchased with a full 10% off discount if you use my personal discount code of TJ10Cheri.  Go for a fun filled shopping trip and get yourself some happy mail.  (My discount can also be used on Ken Oliver Colorburst Powders)

One of the many fab stamps from the new May 2018 release was City Watercolors .  There are so many ways to create with this stamp and my card shows only one.

Using a white cardstock panel, I stamped the image in a brown dye ink.  I then sponged around it with Distress Oxide Inks which gave the look of a late afternoon sunset.  I used some Chameleon Colortone Pencils to highlight various objects in the scene and then, with a white gel pen, I went around the outside of the buildings and other structures.  This final step gave it a more sketchy look as well as enhancing the stamped image.  This is truly a fun stamp to have in your collection.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you found some inspiration.  Here's my discount code one more time and a few reminders.

Snarky Sentiments!

Hello Everyone!

I have a couple of cards to share today and both have to do with food!  Hmmm, wonder what
this says about me??
Both cards use the Inside Out: Live Forever Stamp Set.  These are super fun and a bit snarky sentiments.  You can get them here and if you use code TJ10LeeAnn, you will get 10% off your order.   I challenged myself to let the sentiment be the focus of the card.

This first sentiment is a hoot!  Truth be told, I have often thought this, LOL!  I made my own background with the Birthdays and Donuts Stamp.  I used my MISTI and masked the sentiment off
to create this background.  A piece of vellum tones down the background, keeping the sentiment the focus.
I love the look of the Marble Swirl Background stamp- I stamped it tone on tone and die cut a circle from the paper, using it as a layer behind the sentiment.  The stamp reminds me of icing.  :D
And the INSIDE of the card (if you haven't guessed it already!)~

Or in this case, eat donuts!

Next up is a design that I keep coming back to- using the negative pieces from a background die.

I used some citrus'y' colored cardstock and die cut it, using negative pieces from the 4 different colors of cardstock.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white.  I took the idea of salt and added Martha Stewart clear glitter to each of the dots to mimick salt.  Once you see the inside of the card, you will understand the salt!

I made the slice of lime just by die cutting 3 different sized circles- 1 white and 2 lime green.  The lime segments where hand trimmed.
There you have it, 2 cards with a simple sentiment as the focus.
Are you up to the challenge??

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous and crafty week!

Screaming Calories

Hello everyone!
It's Ceal,  here to share a card with you today.
I love this stamp Screaming Calories, how many of us can relate? I know I can!
This stamp would make a great encouragement card for someone who is trying to lose weight.
You can save 10% on all your orders except new releases and clearance by using the following code, TJ10Ceal

To create my card I started with a top folding white card base, a piece of patterned paper and a white panel cut down with a stitched die. I stamped the image and then masked the lil piggy off so I could sponge a background behind him. Next I colored him up with Copic markers and addd the patterned paper and the panel to the card base.

TJ Inkspirations: Gilded Metallic Mousse Background

I can't help myself. If something is metallic, or sparkly, or shimmery...well, it just makes me happy. Today's tutorial is all three!

I decided to create a multi-colored Metallic Mousse background and top it off with Silver Gilding Flakes using a stamp, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I topped the whole thing off with a new stamp from the Rita Barakat line and a new sentiment to create a card that is elegant and pretty.

Here is the stamp I used for the gilding flakes:

Sketched Flowers

Happy spring greetings!  Lynda Joy here, with more inspiration for the new May release stamps for you.  I'm using the Technique Junkies stamp Sketched Flowers today, with my favorite color combination....

I love this stamp...it fills the entire card panel.  I started with a green card stock panel.  I 'inked' the stamp using Tim Holtz distress markers in purple and green shades.  I used my Misti for this, so I could ink one or two flowers/leaves, stamp them, then ink another, stamp it, etc.  Otherwise the images would dry before I could stamp it.  I did not want to spritz it, as I wanted the images to maintain the integrity of their shapes.

I stamped a verse from the TJ stamp set Proverbs onto a green scrap, and used stitched circle dies to cut and layer it with foam tape.  Some layering, and pretty ribbon and bow finish off my card.

These large background stamps are perfect for when you need a quick card.  It works up quickly, and still makes a pretty and elegant card when combined with some embellies and layering.

Here's a card I published with the hop, which also shows this fabulous background.....

You can see this post with my details of how I made this card HERE.

Remember, you can get these or any TJ stamp with at 10% discount by using my code TJ10Lynda
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are inspired, and will find some time to play with your stamps today.

And, while your stamps are out and inky, join the fun and enter the Technique Junkies challenge.  The theme this month is Floral ATC's.  Full details are on the TJ blog challenge post.  ATC's are small, quick, and fun.  And who knows, you just may win a $25 gift certificate to the Technique Junkies store!

From White to Wonderful

Hi, again, All! Hope you enjoyed the hop yesterday and got lots of ideas (and goodies!). I know there are a few things on my shopping list!

It's Toodle Noodle Ro, here, to share with you a fun project that is perfectly color-coordinated...starting with just white paper and ribbon!

Have you ever had a design in mind but just couldn't get your papers and embellishments to coordinate? I hate when that happens. But here is a simple fix!  Art Anthology Spray, white cardstock, white ribbon and a great stamp and stencil!

Everything but the card base started out white! And look how great they match! If you don't have Art Anthology sprays, any mistable spray (think reinker and water in a spray bottle) will work for this.

All I did was tape a piece of white CS and my stencil to my craft area and sprayed with a couple of my favorite colors of Art Anthology Spray.

I used A Colorful Life Stencil called High Frequency. I sprayed both colors across, removed my stencil (and promptly cleaned it), and let the CS dry. While it was drying, I trimmed down a couple more pieces of CS and sprayed each one with one of the colors. I did the same thing with a couple pieces of white ribbon.

Once dry, I stamped the sentiment using the Bring Wine stamp. I then die cut the two front pieces and assembled my card. I love these two colors together, and I love how easy it was to make everything coordinate. I added just a few sequins for that ever-lovin' bling.

If you love this project and want "the goods" for your own, AND you'd like to save 10%, simply enter the code below at checkout (no expiration!):

Happy stamping!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!
