Burnished Embossing

Hello folks, it's Beth Norman here with Burnished Embossing which can be found on the Stampin Companion CD.  I love how the burnishing highlights my favourite branch stamp.  I used this particular sentiment because I thought it paired well with the branches, where one would expect to find a bird or two.  It's spring and it just felt springy to pair these two stamps together.

I'm leaving late winter behind today (I live in Canada) and am flying to Atlanta, Georgia, to visit with my mom and sisters for the week.  It's been four years since my last visit and I thought I should use up some of my accumulated vacation to go and visit.

Have a great week!

For Coffee Lovers by Judy Jackson

On Wednesday, April 1, the Technique Junkie Design Team is  hosting a Blog Hop, except for me. I have been pretty ill and am unable to participate.  But --- I do have some cards with some relatively new stamps to share with you today.  I created these a few months ago and saved the scans to my computer for such as this.  Pat has these cards on display at her booth for stamps shows -- I think.

Not only is there a Blog Hop on Wednesday, but Pat is unveiling the new and improved website for the Technique Junkie stamps.  Therefore, I am not going to give the web links for these stamps -- because it may be different than it is now. I will give you the names of the stamp and the product ID number so you can more easily find these stamps on the website --tomorrow.  It seems like a long time to wait for me because I have known about the upcoming website change for a few weeks.  I knew from when she acquired this stamp line she would eventually change the website just because the original website was not hers.  Any time a business changes hands, their website will also often change to reflect the new owner's passion and change.    So I am very excited about these changes.  And I will be anxiously looking at the new website on Wednesday and the blog hop as well.  This is the first time I have ever not participated in a Blog Hop for Technique Junkies so I am really feeling like I am missing something.

Here are my 3 cards -- different takes using the same stamps.  I think it is both fun and challenging to see how many different ways you can take one main stamp and create totally different looks.  Have you ever challenged yourself in that way?

Technique Junkie stamps:  S224 Coffee Quotes, S606 Coffee Beans, and SD402 Java Jive

Aren't these just fun stamps?  How many different ways will you think of to use these stamps?

Please join me on Wednesday and hop along the Blog Hop trail beginning right here on the Design Team blog.  There is also a whole Design Team for the Technique Junkie stamp line.   Some names will be familiar and some will be new.  I am very excited to see what the new Design Team members will show us. I hope you will hop along with me!  Please leave some loving comments on the blogs of the Design Team -- they will surely appreciate it!

Two Cards with the Same Trees by Judy Jackson

One of my favorites all time technique from the Technique Junkie newsletter is Antiqued Glimmers from the December 2009 edition.  It just creates a most wonderful background and is so versatile. And you never knows exactly how it is going to turn out.  And that is part of the fun!

Don't these trees look just like a tree in full bloom? The trees and the verse are stamped in pigment ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

All of the stamps for this card are from the Technique Junkie stamp line.

This card uses the  Water Color Reinkers technique from the February 2012 edition of the Technique Junkie newsletter.  This card uses the exact same stamps, including the verse, as the first card.  But you get a very different result.  It is one of the things I love about stamping and using a variety of techniques!

Have a very inky day!

Washi, Washi

{jane bosi}
Happy Thursday, Junkies!!  I've got a little gift set--box and card--to share this morning!  I'm hoping to inspire some craftiness!  This great project from the Washi  Tape + Ribbons CD is perfect for garnishing your Easter table and a ton of other special occasions!

I've chosen the Rolling Washi Box tutorial for part of my project.  Although birthday themed, here, it would be the perfect WOW! filled with candy at each place setting for your Easter table.
Above you see the box open.  Just enough space for some jelly beans, chocolate eggs and a few more sweet treats!
My card is a quick and simple one using the Washi Words tutorial.  I've also used one of my favorite go to sets from Technique Junkie stamps, Simple Sentiments, Set 1a (#SS01a).

What's on your crafty agenda today?  Don't forget to be awesome!

Gelatos Direct

Hello, it's Beth Norman here with Gelatos Direct which can be found on the Bodacious Background CD

I love the softness of the background because it gives my stamps a large impact.  These are two of my favourite stamps from the Technique Junkies Stamps.  Here, I stamped out my bird image with black ink, but I find myself colouring it with Tombow markers and huffing on it to give it colour.

Have a good week, and enjoy this warming up of weather we are finally having.

Altered

{jane bosi}

Altered.  Think on it.  Read the verse.  Dwell.

I loved this verse and image from first sight so, it was natural for me to combine them into my project for today!

She is Let's Face It 2 found in the Palettini Backgrounds currently on the website.  I'm linking, but you do need to scroll down....a little bird has told me that in just a little bit, the TJ store will be getting a facelift!  I'm so excited!!  Be sure to watch closely for more information--you don't want to miss anything!

The verse is called Everything She Touches (#SD352) and reads:

"She alters everything she touches....and everything she touches alters her."

Isn't that just the truth??  We change things for others and are also changed!  This sentiment resonates with me so strongly!

All this stampy goodness is anchored to my background technique piece.  Working from the Artistic Effects CD and the Goosed Stains tutorial, I created a colorful, sparkly background.  The background stamp, also used, is called Leaf Repeat (#S608).  The sparkle comes from my use of a metallic stain, in addition to the several colors.  This is a great technique!  I encourage each of you to get out your goodies and give it a whirl!

Don't forget to be awesome!  TTFN,
Jane

Rolled Backgrounds

Hi friends.  It's Beth Norman here with the Rolled Backgrounds technique from February 2013.  I love how the rolled backgrounds showcases this lovely stamp from Technique Junkies Stamps.

I thought it was time to bring back some long-forgotten techniques which is why I decided to use this technique.  The trick is to have a good tacky glue.

Thank you for stopping by.

Emboss Resist by Judy Jackson

About this time every year I am thinking about what flowers I will plant in my flower garden.  Of course it is way to early to even think about planting any flowers, but it makes look forward to spring and flowers even more than I was already. To me the ideal temperature is between 80 and 100 degrees. I love the warmth -- but not the humidity of Florida and other southern states.

All of the stamps are Technique Junkie stamps.  The background is ##s576 - Fat Smudged Lines. It makes for an interesting background. The butterflies and the verse are found on these web pages - http://www.stampcamp.com/thingswithwings1.html , http://www.stampcamp.com/Butterflies.html ,  and http://www.stampcamp.com/nature2.html

Is it warm where you are?  Are you crafting somehow today?  I hope so.

Be Kind.....

{jane bosi}

Happy Thursday Junkies!!  Today, I have a springy card to share with you!  It actually fits the weather we have been having for a change!  It's all fluttery and bright!

I adore this Palettini background image, called Vintage Botanicals Collage!  It's so delicate and frilly!
It was the perfect image to combine with the Stained Resist technique from the Artistic Effects CD.  You can learn more about this CD and all that it contains, HERE .

To finish off my project, I didn't want to cover up any of the technique piece so, I went with a simple sentiment from Technique Junkies and a sheer ribbon.

I hope you are inspired to get a little inky today!

Collaged Circles

Hello dear friends, it's Beth Norman here with Collaged Circles from the Designer Paper Perfection CD.  I stamped out my Technique Junkie Stamp and coloured it to coordinate with my designer paper.

The Designer Paper Perfection CD is fabulous and you should buy it if you haven't done so already.

Have a great day!

Got Wings?

Hello friends, it's Beth Norman here with Gelato Rubs, and it's one of my favourite cards.  The colours are so rich and the black really shows off the colours.

You will find the Gelato Rubs technique on the Artistic Effects CD.

Right now Pat has her Gelatos on sale and boy is there a big selection of colours.  There are a limited quantity so I'd hurry up and buy them while you can.

Now onto the card deets:  I added gold ribbon and added the small bee surrounded in gold, and finally finished off my card by gold embossing Got Wings?

All stamps are Technique Junkies Stamps, including the background, bee and sentiment.

Let's see what you can do with Gelatos.
