Technique Of the Week: Alcohol Ink Splatters

Hello from Kathie McGuire. We're bringing you a project from the current newsletter and hope that you'll join in the fun by trying the technique and sharing it with all of the other TJ fans on the Yahoo group. This is the Alcohol Ink Splatters from the latest newsletter. If you want a fast, colorful, knock-your-socks-off background for an image or just for an embellisment (like the flower I used here), then drag out your alcohol inks and spend the next five or ten minutes creating a fabulous one-of-a-kind stunning piece of art. I didn't have canned air, so I took apart an old blow pen, removed the dried out pen, and then used the blow bulb by squeezing it closely to the alcohol inks. The process worked great! This is one of the best techniques I've ever played with on TJ; it's extremely fast, fun, and the results are quite impressive. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day! Kathie

Good Morning Ladies!
Nancy Dawson here with this week's featured technique from our new April newsletter. It is called Alcohol Ink Spatters and what fun to create! I hope you will give it a try; stepping out of your comfort zone is so rewarding when the results are fantastic!

What a beautiful background to feature Stampin Up's By the Tide stamp set. You can't really tell it on the scan but the fish has Smooch Spritz sprayed on and highlighted with Spica Copic markers.

Try That Technique - AI Splatters

Don't you just love the new TJ Newsletter?  I love it and can't wait to create lots of new cards with it.

This sweet little image from I Brake For Stamps is colored with copics.  

The background is done with the TJ Newsletter technique AI Splatters.  This is this weeks Try That Technique.

I also used another technique around her (the black hearts) called Faux Punched Borders.  I cut her out with spellbinders (making sure to use my handy out of the nestie box technique --so not to cut off her sweet little rabbit ear).

It's No Joke!! Technique of the Week......

That's right, Friends!!  It's not a joke!  The Technique Junkie Newsletter would never kid about something as wonderful as Technique of the Week!  We are back and bringing you the first of many wonderful Technique of the Week Challenges!! You are going to want to play along.....for fun, for games and maybe even a prize from time to time!!!

From the newsletter, hitting your mailboxes soon, if not already......Alcohol Ink Splatter!!  This fun technique requires few extra supplies, but always produces an uniquely different piece!  I've chosen to adorn my piece very little, so as not to obscure my marvelous background.  Nothing says "clown" like splattered ink so, naturally, I chose a favorite image from I Brake For Stamps to finish things off.  This clown is one of several from the Rick St. Dennis line and just never goes out of style!!
