Morning Joe and You Call it Coffee

This first card I punched a hole on the front

So my Morning Joe lady ( I call her Joe-anne lol)

is actually on the inside of the card.

A little bit of bling on this second card along with some sparkles on the mug

Hope you enjoyed these one...Always reminds me of my little sister as she LUVS her coffee hahahaha

All these cats!

IYKYK. The All these Cats stamp is so cute with the Kitty Love background, don't you think? Both from www.techniquejunkies.com.

Curly Tailed Cats...

Hope your week is off to a good start!

I have two fun Technique Junkies cards to share here on the Technique Junkies blog.

Here is my first card. This was created using the Better with a Dog stamp from the February Technique Junkies release. This was one of my favorite stamps from the release! The photo doesn't show true colors. Believe it or not, the card base behind the white strips is EXACTLY the same color as the cardstock matting the image. I cut lots of white strips, and mounted them over top of the card base with dimensional foam, then stamped and matted the image, which was adhered directly to the card front.

Next up is another easy, fun card! All These Cats, was stamped in black ink onto a white card panel. I stamped a 'mask', fussy cut it, and laid the mask over top of the black stamping. I then stamped the background, using Curly Tailed Cats, and a pretty blue ink.

No Cat Ever

As soon as I saw these Curly Tailed Cats, I knew they would be the perfect pairing for the Dotted Blooms background stamp from a previous release.  On a white background I stamped the Dotted Blooms with some Catherine Pooler ink in the color Hot Tub, a nice sort of retro color.
Next, I stamped the Curly Tailed Cats with Versafine Clair in the color Nocturne and then tossed some clear embossing powder over the top and heat embossed them. The rest of the process can be seen in the video below!

Cats, cats, cats

The fun retro cat background here is just so whimsical and fun, you can't help but smile! I stamped the cats on patterned background paper and topped it with the Cats and More Cats stamp. All can be found here:

This adorable patterned paper - from my stash - is a perfect whimsical background for the Better with a Dog stamp! You can find the stamp here:

Most of us have tons of background stamps.  I love them!  I'm always looking for new ways to use them.  Check out how I used ink cubes to get a multicolored background.  I hope you will give this a try.  It was so much fun to create!

Life is Better...

 Hello,

Life is better with a dog.  I can't imagine not having our puppies (picture below).  So when I saw this stamp, I couldn't wait to use it.  I used my tombow markers to color directly on the stamp, so I could get multiple colors.   I stamped on top of the artistic swipe stamp because I thought it looked like dog slobber.  What do you think?

Coffee Birthstone

 Hi Junkies!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I live with some serious coffee addicts. They get seriously grouchy when we are out of coffee beans or half and half. This sentiment is perfect for them. The expression on the cat's face is perfect. I colored up the kitty with copic markers (you can find the color list at the bottom of post).

Happy Crafting,
Chris

It's a coffee bean

Good day! Just so everyone knows, I DO think my birthstone is a coffee bean. I don't need to eat first thing in the morning, but I DO need coffee....fresh ground is the best!
For this creation, I used 3 February releases Pearls, Birthstone and Morning Joe. I put my Pearls stamp in the Misti and inked it up with Bermuda Bay and Coffee and then spritzed with water before stamping for the watercolor look. The sentiment was stamped in brown and punched out with an oval punch and on foam tape. I used a button for the first time in a loooong time!
The releases this month are so awesome. Go grab yourself some and use my code TJ10Pam here.

Cheers!

All about Cats !!!

  MEOW

Some great new 'cat' stamps were released this

This first card using the new Curly-Tailed cats background stamp
and All These Cats saying. I masked off the top of the cat saying for the top portion of the card.

On the inside I used a previously released stamp ( You're Purrfect #SDX219)

So on playing around with the Curly tail stamp I made a few bookmarks for my cat crazy friends

This card I masked off the bottom part of the 'all these cats' saying

Then on the inside put the rest of the saying in ...

Cat Love

The Cat Love Stencil from ACLD is adorable with our All These Cats sentiment. Just a little blending through the stencil results in a colorful background with the right vibe!

My Emotional Support Beverage

Happy 'almost' Valentine's Day, my friends!

Hope your week is off to a good start, and that it only gets better and better each day.

I have some fun Technique Junkies cards to share today...
Grab YOUR beverage of choice, and check them out!

For the first card, I started out by stamping the image, Morning Joe, onto a white cardstock panel with black ink, then coloring with Copic Markers. It was stamped again onto a post it note, which I used as a mask while stamping the background, 'Coffee Stain' with a tan ink. The panel was matted onto Kraft cardstock, and voila! A quick and colorful, easy card!

I wish the shine was visible...
The coffee mug and inside of the curlers are all embellished with
Glossy Accents.

Next up is another easy, fun card:

I started with a gray card base, and used gray ink and the Damask stencil on the entire base, and two different sized strips of Washi Tape at the top and bottom of card base.

The focal panel, Sisters We Choose, was stamped in black ink onto white cardstock. I stamped it a second time, colored the hearts and banner with red marker, covered them with glossy accents, and fussy cut each. The focal panel was matted with black cardstock, adhered to the card base, and the fussy cut banner and hearts were popped up with foam dots over top of the stamped image. Very quick card!

Thanks for stopping by today!

All About Love

 Hello,

Do you remember that feeling you got at school when you exchanged Valentine's with your classmates?  It was magical, right?  My son and I sat down yesterday and assembled all of Valentines.  He is so excited to share the with his friends.  It has inspired me to try to get a few more out in the mail to spread the cheer.

This card was a lot of fun to make. I love the ombre background.  I stamped the background stamp in three different colors of ink.  I used red at the top, medium red in the middle and pink at the bottom.  I thought it added some interest.  I masked off the bottom so I could add a simple I love you.

Happy Valentine's Day
Chris

Birthstone ?

Today I am sharing a card I made with the

new release 'Birthstone'

which will be the perfect card for my sisters birthday

I did the chevron fold for the top then layered the saying.

(( BTW - if you cannot find your coffee stain stamp - use the top of a detergent bottle - worked great ))

Follow the Rainbow!

Some techniques are just timeless - and the Joseph's Coat Technique is one for the ages! Today's video uses this classic method of applying ink and then covering some of it with a stamp and black ink is a great new level of making a rainbow.

I created a couple of kits for you so you can save a little money if you are interested. The kits may be found HERE.

Luck of the Irish

Who doesn't need an Irish Blessing with St. Patrick's day around the corner! I used all of the lucky things for this card today. I started out with a 5 1/2x4 1/4 inch white card panel and stamped the Shamrocks  background stamp with a a green pigment ink and then poured clear embossing powder over it and embossed the shamrocks. I distressed the whole page using some brown and tan colored inks and then splattered some gold randomly and set aside.

On another panel I stamped Nothing But Happiness and gave it the same treatment as the background then cut it out with a circle die.

I strung up the wishbone and attached the card together.

Through Your Door with tutorial

Hi Junkies!

Chris here!  Check out these amazing St. Patrick's Day stamps.  My favorite stamp in this release is the shamrock background.  I have another card I made with it. I'll share it later this month.  I played around and made a surprise flap card.  I love that it could hide a secret message.  Check out the video to see this card in action.

I made lots of versions  of this card.  I'd love to know which is your favorite
