Dear Patricia,
Have you been joining us for the 30 Days of Christmas? Today is Day 16.

Every day between October 15th and November 13th, the Technique Junkie Design Team and I will be celebrating all things Christmas!  We have a slew of cards, scrapbook pages and projects to inspire your creativity this holiday season.
The fun happens on the Design Team blog. The artwork for each day will be posted there, or there will be a link to a designer's blog with that day's post. If you don't follow that blog, now is a great time:

if you have missed the fun so far, just look below today's tutorial for the links to the other days. And because it has been so successful,

Day 16 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Oh Deer! Reindeer, that is.  Today is Day 16 of the 30 Days of Christmas, and I am here to show you two cards using theChristmas Reindeer Stamp. I especially like the card above, because it combines the deer image with the new Winter Foliage Background stamp.

 To make this card:
Color the Reindeer with markers, pencils, chalks, etc. Cut out the deer.

To color the background, use 3 monochromatic colors directly on the Winter Foliage background, outline the outer edge with the darkest color. Stamp onto card stock.
To create layering pieces for the deer, die cut two frame dies from two complementary paper pieces. On the larger piece, stamp the Winter Foliage stamp in the darkest ink color (from the base piece). Use a marker to highlight just the Peace on Earth Sentiment from the Peace on Earth Stamp.

Pop the first die cut using pop dots, then layer the other frame die and reindeer over them.
Deer #2

Our second look features the Faux Canvas Technique.

 To make this card:
Color the Reindeer with markers, pencils, chalks, etc.
Emboss the colored piece with a Crosshatch Embossing Folder. Use a tan or gray ink to lightly highlight the crosshatches.
For the sentiment, I wanted to use JOY from the Christmas Words Set:

I wanted to use the letters in a horizontal orientation, instead of vertical, so I simply cut the three letters apart. I stamped them., colored them and cut them out for the card front piece.

To finish the piece, I colored the entire deer with Gold Art Anthology paint. The shimmer is stunning!
