Scrunchie.....another old favorite

It's Evelyn here....with a funky favorite technique:  Scrunchie.  It appeared in the November 2007 newsletter.     This past week, I recycled magazines and catalogs and saved several great glossy covers and pages from the Coldwater Creek catalog. There were also some beautiful red and black butterflies on a New Yorker cover, which I used  for this card.    The stamped image is from Diva Impressions, an unmounted I "found" in my mess of unmounteds.    (No one else has that problem, surely!!)

Antique Wallpaper with Beth

Happy 4th of July to our American Readers. This is Beth here with my first attempt at Antique Wallpaper from the most recent issue. It is so much fun and I can tell it will be one I use a lot.

Beaded Box

Happy Saturday and Happy July 4th weekend!! It's Kathie McGuire here with a 3-D project to share with you.

I made this box for my best friend because she was out of town on vacation for 8 days and my papercrafting room just wasn't the same without her. I decided to make her a "Welcome Home" present and chose this project because she loves boxes.

I made the panels on the lower portion of this box using the Metallic Echo technique from 2/06. I morphed it quite a bit so the technique is pretty faint in the background, but I still like it. I ended up adding some metallic acrylic paints to the cardstock panels because I thought it needed a little more "flash".

The lid is covered with a beaded applique which I'm sure was inteneded for a jacket or blouse, but when my friend and I saw it in a fabric store we thought it would make a great addition to a box top. I added some silver round bead and small coordinating seed type beads on the sides of the box by putting a drop of Crystal Effects where I wanted it and then pushing the beads into it.

I'm so thankful for the opportunity to learn new techniques through the TJ group. The techniques are such an asset to me when I'm making one-of-a-kind gifts.

Pulled Glimmers with Judy Jackson

I saw this image on a card and just loved it. The stamp is from Repeat Impressions. I used the Pulled glimmers technqiue from the June-July TJ newsletter. I chose those same color shades to color in the image with my Copic markers. I thought this young girl looked like she was watching the sea off in the distance.

Like so many TJ techniques Pulled glimmers gives a wonderful background with very little effort, yet it gives a certain WOW! factor to the card. I added a few tiny buttons to add to the vintage image.

The large background stamp on the base card is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Recipe Swap Card

Here is Hetty, showing you  a delicous card I made for a recipe swap I am in. I just got these great dies from Creative Cuts & More that look like an apron and have a pocket to insert a recipe card. I have used the Stenciled Collage technique (from August 2008) to decorate the apron. Stencil and stamps are from Club Scrap. As the recipe is a Dutch Pancake with strawberries and whipped cream (yummie!! mail me if you want it!) I attached a little strawberry to the apron on a winecharm wire. The template for the strawberry can be found HERE and goes with instructions.
