Acetate Swirl

Happy Stamping Saturday!! Hello from Kathie McGuire! I'm here today sharing one of the fastest, easiest and most economic TJ technique EVER--"Acetate Swirl" from the Technique Junkies CD#6.

The technique takes only minutes to do! Then, it's only the drying time needed for the glue.

Haven't you tried it yet? If you haven't, please join me in making some fabulous pieces of artwork with this technique! I think you'll agree that Acetate Swirl is a technique that will give you a lot of results for a little effort.

Thanks for stopping by today!

More Technique by Design cards by Judy Jackson

Hi! Judy Jackson here!

Sometimes design sketches just really appeal to me -- and this one from the October 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter did for sure! So I created several cards using this design sketch. It is fun to see how different cards will look using the same design sketch. I used the Greeting Card Kids set, a word set, and punches from Stampin' Up! for these two cards. The Halloween card also uses the Worn Wallpaper Technique from the August 2010 Newsletter. Aren't these little girls sweet!
Have a great week! JudyJackson

Try That Technique: Pearly Stained Glass

Welcome to Diana Enns' and my (Beth) challenge to you. This week we challenge each other, and you, to create a card or project using the Pearly Stained Glass technique from October 2006.

Each week we challenge you to play along, and each week we have regular participants. Why not join in the fun? The prize is having your card on the Yahoo home page for a whole week. Your name will also be on the home page. Isn't that fun?

Congratulations Shelly Schmidt, you are this week's winner. Your card is on our home page.

Warhol Gnomies....

{Jane Bosi}

Greetings, Friends!
Just a quick share today using the Warhol (2/05) technique along with the Simple Green Spritz (4/08). I got the idea while playing lifeguard at my local YMCA (lots of time to think!) and was able to complete the whole thing in under 20 minutes!!! Gotta love that! I'll have the expanded story on my blog with a bit of a contest in a day or two ;) Be sure to check it out!

By the Inch by Judy Jackson

Hi! Judy Jackson here.

Inchies used on cards had been something I wanted to try for some time. That resulted in the By-the-Inch Technique that I created for the October 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. I found I liked turning the squares -- it added to the visual interest of the card.
All of the stamps on this card are from Stampin' Up.
We have a lot to be thankful for -- and stamping and creating are some of those things.
Count your blessings -- and not your stamps -- and then create!

Ann's Twisted Tole

This week's "TRY THIS TECHNIQUE" was for Paper Tole.  I've done this in the past but have ignored it for a long time.  It was fun and easy to do.  You should try it if you haven't before.  For this card, I wanted to do something that was quick and easy.  Most of my cards are NOT quick nor easy so this one would be very different for me.  The image is from one of TJ's sponsors, Twisted Papers.  The background color of the image and the card-stock are a very creamy white.  Really more lovely in person.    Now it is your turn to give the technique a try!!

Sanded Core'dinations Texture Duet

Hi!  Donna here with my first Design Junkies post.  I'll be posting on the second and fourth Fridays of the month from now on.

The techniques I chose to use are Texture Duet (October 2010) and Sanded Core'dinations (April 2010).  I didn't even realize that these two techniques had just been showcased here when I chose them, but that's OK.  These techniques are so versatile, and I think it's fun to see the different looks that are possible using the same basic steps.

The Core'dinations paper I used on my card is called Black Magic, and I love the stuff so much it's hard not to hoard it.  Frankie is from the DoodleFactory Ghoulies collection from Starving Artistamps, as is the sentiment.  I colored both with Copic markers, and you can't see it in this picture, but Frankie's eyes and the letters are shiny because I went over them with a glaze pen.

Next time your looking for an easy background with lots of textural interest, consider giving these techniques a try!
