Try That Technique - Painted Puzzle

Hi fellow stampers. It's Try That Technique once again. Diana Enns and I challenged each other to using the Painted Puzzle Technique from the 2009 CD. It is a bonus technique that is so much fun.
I love this stamp from smARTworks. As a lover of this style of image (different people holding hands), I felt it would work well with this technique. My children's puzzle piece is large enough to show off the image. Don't you love how the image coordinates so well with the sentiment?
Each week we choose a random winner to be on the Yahoo Group home page for the week. The more times you try, the better you chance.
Congratulations Robbie Rubala, you are last week's winner by creating a card using the Cling Pearls technique. Your card is now on the home page.

Salty Glimmers and Scenic Stamping - by Judy Jackson

As you can see, there are three pictures to show you how this card opens. This first view shows you the full card with the focal image closed.
You can see the residue of the salt on the glimmery background. This is such a fun technique to do. You never know exactly how the background will look when you are finished. A torn piece of card stock is the anchor behind the focal image and it is attached with two metallic copper brads. These brads are fastened to the background papers before those papers are adhered to the full card. That way no parts of the brads show on the inside of the card.
When you fold down the bottom edge of the focal image you complete the scene and you are able to view the man in the canoe rowing in the stream.
When the next flap is lifted up the greeting or tiny message about the scene is exposed. The rest of the card opens up for a greeting on the inside of the traditional A2 sized card.
The focal image part of the card was fun to create. It is sort of a flip flap card with a different orientation.
Lots of layers help to complete of this card.
Stamp credits are from Stampin' Up, and Stampscapes. I hope you have had a wonderful January -- for me I am tired of cold and snow. I can only hope for a quick and WARM spring!
Have a great day!

Cling Pearl note box
Hello Stamping Friends!
Hetty here with a cute little project for you
with the use of the Cling Pearl technique (Oct/Nov 07).
Talking with my friend about working at the
computer she told me she was always writing little notes
when sitting behind her pc. Yes, I said, I do the same, but
I am always looking for paper. She nodded.
So, I went to our local dollar store and got this little
notes box (4,75 x 3,5 inch) and addapted the lid of the box.
with some papers cut to the size of the box I went to work.
On the black paper I did the Cling and Pearl technique
with gold and silver. In the end I put the paper into
the script embossing folder and ran it through thecuttlebug.
The image is a digital stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy
and is colored with copic markers.
When printing the stamp twice, I addapted
the 2nd image by mirroring it horizontally.
Hello is a clear stamp from my stash.
The pink flower was white, but I sprayed it with glimmer mist.
Hope I gave you an idea for a cute little present.
Have a creative day!

Another Deconstructed Collage by Judy Jackson

I spritzed the background with a glimmer spray. It really shimmers!
The burgundy layer behind the focal image is a burgundy vellum and it is hard to tell that from the scanned image. I used the focal image to stamp the background in a random way. Then I sponged highlights of color over the images until I got a vintage feel. I feel like having a cup of tea about now!
Hope your day is warm -- and creative!

Glitter Ribbons by Ann Clack
I had this made yesterday as part of my one card a day (min 5) each week. My friend, Penny, and I made a bunch of backgrounds the other day and this blue one was just perfect for a birthday card for my son, Jim. Stamps by Clear Dollar. My son (and my DH and I as well) love Mustangs and Jim's is blue. The inside of the card will have the car stamped again, partially, but this time it will be colored magenta which was the color his car used to be! Colored with copics. Unfortunately, you can't see the light blue on the interior of the car nor the hash marks on the windshield in light grey.
