Thursday Try That Technique--Bohemian Layers!

{Jane Bosi}  Helllllloooooo Junkies!!!  Today, I'm bringing you a brand new Try That Challenge!  Thank you to all who played along in the 3D Shadows Try That in the last two weeks!

This time around, we are pulling out an older technique--Bohemian Layers--from the Feb/March 2011 edition.  I SO needed to get inky for fun and this really did the trick!!  This is a great technique--creates such an interesting background!

My sample uses an image and sentiment from Stamp Camp--GOSH!  I love this company!  The background, Cover-A-Card Medallion is from Impression Obsession.  Please don't forget to support these wonderful TJ Vendors!

I'm anxious to see everyones' interpretations of this great technique!

This is a sympathy card I recently made.  It uses the Dotted Edges technique from the June-July newsletter.  I colored the focal  images with Copic markers. The Dotted Edge technique is a wonderful and easy technique to use and add interest to your card.  Have you tried it yet?

This year I had a goal -- a sad goal it seems. My goal was to make 15 sympathy cards and hope that number would last through the year.  I figured I wouldn't get them made all at once.  My hubby and I have sent out about 10-12 sympathy cards this year, yes in 2012.  Right now we are on vacation.  I brought one card with us, just in case we might need it.  Well, it wasn't enough.  We need two cards.  My husband's aunt died -- in her 90's!  And our daughter's best friend's father died.  I will need to buy some for sure!

Have a wonderful week!

Technique Strips

Have you tried this technique yet? It is so much fun and fast! I know you all have saved your scrap pieces of techniques that you have done in the past. Let's face it...we all save our scraps. I save my technique background scraps in a place all their own. I keep them in a nice photo box that has a label on it. The label simply says "Backgrounds" I was so glad that I saved them this way when I wanted to try this technique. They were right at my fingertips. I'm sure many of you do this too.

This technique is from the June/July issue. Look it up and give it a try. It is a very effective technique, and I would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for looking!

Distress Ink Watercolor Sunflower

Hi TJ Friends! Kathie McGuire here today to share the fabulous Distress Ink Watercolor technique from the 12/11 Technique Junkies Newsletter. I'm a day or two early in my post(I usually see you on the first and third Saturday of each month), but I thought this may spark a little bit of inspiration before the weekend gets here. Who knows? You may have time to try this technique if you haven't yet!! The images are from Stampendous, stamped with VersaMark and embossed with gold embossing powder. Then, I painted according to the technique tutorial. Easy! The image was so bold I kept the rest of the card understated. The little addition of fibers helped to round out the project! Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend! Kathie

{Jane Bosi}|  Happy Thursday!!  Today, I am sharing my Try That Challenge card featuring the 3D Shadows technique from the Stampin' Companion CD!!  While our goal with the original tutorial was to focus completely on the use of Stampin' Up! product, I've completed my artwork with supplies that ARE NOT found in the SU! catalog.  I love the versatility of this CD!!  My image is from a brand new Asian sheet at I Brake For Stamps, (TJ Vendor) called Lovely Geisha.  Isn't she gorgeous??  The entire art piece is colored with Copic markers :)  My verse comes from Unity Stamp Co.
I hope you've had fun with this challenge!  We will have a new one for you soon!  TTFN, Jane

Baby Bragbook

 Hi there!
Hetty here and I am waiting for our grandbaby to show himself,
so while waiting I have started to make a  6x6 bragbook.
Here you see two of the pages where I have used the
dotty edges technique from  the June/July 2012 TJ Newsletter
and also the Sanded Core'dinations from the April/May 2010.

I found this cute embossingfolder with tiny baby feet.
So sure that this one will be used a lot in the next few weeks.

The images you see here are digital images by
Create with TLC and colored with copic markers.
I chose to make colored dots as a frame to the picture
in coördination with the dots on the scrappaper behind it.

Now only my DD has to deliver the baby and  I can
finish of the pages with some pictures! Come on stork....
hurry up and fly!

Have a creative day!
