Hi TJ friends!
Kathie McGuire here on your stamping weekend to share a very quick and easy card I made. I used the Wisped Frames technique from the 2/10 Technique Junkie newsletter on the Spellbinders die cut on the center of the card.
This card was especially quick because I purchased a box of pre-made cards at JoAnn's and just added to it. The punch on the side is an EK Success paw print border which I backed with some off white cardstock so the punched strip would show up better.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Brown Bag Gift Pouch
Kathie McGuire here today, and I'm sharing a little brown bag project that I made recently.
I used a lunch-size bag I purchased at the grocery store and folded it up to make a pocket. Then, I sewed the sides to keep it shut. I used the Aged Parchment techique from the 6/08 newsletter on the white doily. It was rather fragile, so I carefully brushed on the liquid color rather than soaking the doily directly in the liquid.
All of the other items used were odds-n-ends from my stash. The brown paper package tied up with string (like the song--LOL) is a chocolate bar from Trader Joe's grocery store. It measures 4" X 4" so it fit perfectly inside the pouch.
The little pick is a dollar store find--I think they're olive picks, but they worked perfectly for my "sign."
I hope you've enjoyed the project and thanks for stopping by.
Kind wishes,
Kathie

A little sneaky peak....
Okay.....first off this is just a little sneaky peak of one of the upcoming techniques in the August newsletter. Second.....I really didn't have Pat H permission but thought that since we are only a couple of days away that you would have fun getting this peak!!
This is a technique called Colorwash Alcohol and it is a lot of fun. When I have a cool looking background I sure hate to cover it up. My solution was to trim close to this tall thin flower! This is one of the techniques that I submitted to the newsletter too!
I hope you enjoy!

Holly Brown: Sunflower Pocket Card
Hi Junkies! It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this Sunflower Pocket Card with y'all. Have you tried the fun techniques from the specialty CD's yet? I used the Folded Pocket Card tutorial from the Fancy Folds and Motion Paper Crafts CD to create this card. I added some die cut flowers to the pocket and I stamped the sentiment on the tag that goes inside the pocket. The die cuts (Cheery Lynn Designs) and stamps (Impression Obsession) are from Classy Cards 'n Such - a TJ vendor.

Dotted Edges
It is Monsoon Season here in the Arizona desert which must have me feeling tropical. This is one of my oldest and most beloved stamps. It is from Commotion...remember them? The cut out frame die is from Impression Obsession and very versatile. This is another fun and fast technique that adds a bit of whimsy to this card, which I find appealing.
I was thinking today about the Technique Junkie newsletter and wondered where my stamping would be if I hadn't found and subscribed to it. It's something to think about and one thing is certain....I wouldn't be having near as much fun!
I hope you are all having a wonderful week!
TFL,
Jackie K

Ombre Watercolor Resist by Judy Jackson
This is such a fun technique to try - and I have learned from a couple of efforts that you cannot use highly detailed background stamps for this technique. The background needs to have some detail but not highly detailed. This background from Cornish Heritage Farms is almost too detailed. The tree stamp is also from CHF. This card is an example of using an existing ATC I created for a swap months ago. When I make ATCs for swaps I always make a few extra for this very purchase. I am looking forward to the next newsletter - only a short time now until Pat mails it! It will be filled with wonderful techniques as usual.
Hope your summer has some craft time included!
