Glitter Ribbons

Ann Clack here with a quick little card using Glitter Ribbons.  Today is the birthday party for my granddaughter, Breauna.    This piece of glitter ribbons technique was calling to me as it matched her package.  I added a bunch of stars since the inside says "You're the star of the day!"   Naturally, the glitter is sooo much prettier in real life!

My tip of the day to you is.......when you get the TJ newsletter pick a couple of the techniques that you know will take some time and might be messy.  Make lots of the backgrounds and store them away for those days when you need something quick.  Make sure you mark the name of the technique on the back of the piece.

Distressed Paper - Burlap Flower card

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this shabby chic card with you.  I used an oldie but a goodie technique called Distressed Paper on the patterned paper.  You can find this technique in the 2/03 issue - told you it was an oldie!!  LOL  As fun as the new techniques are, sometimes I like going back to the beginning of Technique Junkies and playing with some of those older techniques.  

I paired this shabby paper with a scrunched, wrinkled ribbon and a flower cut from burlap fabric.  I actually used a small strand of the burlap to tie through the holes of the button.  The sentiment is from Flourishes - perfect for sending a card that isn't necessarily a birthday card or a holiday card.  :-)

Hello everyone, I hope this post finds everyone well and creative. For this card I used Acrylic Block Taping technique from the June/July newsletter of this year. It reminded me of old barn wood. I also used the Paper Piecing technique from the February 03 newsletter..and oldie and still a goodie! The stamps are from Mark's Finest Paper and Copperleaf Creations..

 I am making this short because we are having thunder storms and I need to shut the computer off.

Another Embossed Puzzle card by Judy Jackson

This is another Mono-Chromatic color scheme for this technique. I like the fact that you can use bright colors, pastel colors, and mono-chromatic colors to achieve the look you want.   I used four shades of browns.  Stamp credits belong to Stampin' Up and Endless Creation. 

The nest and feathers are stamps on a vanilla piece of card stock.  The eggs were stamped in Brilliance ink on vellum and layered over the card stock with the nest.   I used seam binding ribbon for the bow and knot.

Embossed Puzzle

Hello TJ friends, it's Beth Norman here with the Embossed Puzzle technique from the August issue.  Once again, I pulled out my Tombow markers and went to work on the main image.  It was so fun to coordinate the colours on the image (Magenta) with my Embossed Puzzle background.  Wasn't it nice to find a new technique involving embossing folders?  I know I was tickled.

Pulled Color by Judy Jackson - 2 cards

 

Hello from Judy Jackson.  I have done something computer wise right and am now able to post to this blog.  Both of these cards use the Pulled color technique from the August-September newsletter.   I LOVE this technique. It is simple enough but produces a WOW background in my opinion.  

The first card uses a Stampin' Up stamp and the second card (with the chair) uses a stamp from an unknown company.  I know I bought it at one of the Big Box craft stores. And since then I have done this massive unmounting of my wood mounted stamps. I evidently forgot to write down what company made this stamp.

I hope you have been doing some crafting this summer and will do more this fall!

Gesso Off and Faux Punched Border

Thought I would try a couple of techniques I have never attempted before. The Gesso Off technique is from the August 09 issue and the Faux Punched Border technique is from this month's issue (Aug/Sept 2012). Both techniques are fun and easy. The purple dotted ribbon is much darker IRL and matches the B/G paper perfectly, Not so in the photo. Oh well, you get the idea.
