Embossed Stickles at Sunset

Hello, Beth Norman, here with an Embossed Stickles card.  What a fun way to use Stickles.   I have about 20 different colours--they are so addictive.   You will find this technique on the the Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine CD.

My Small Couple stamp is from Impression Obsession, one of our sponsors.  They have a new challenge every two weeks and I am submitting this card for their "I'm Thankful For" challenge this week.  Can you tell I'm thankful for my cuddle time?

I stamped out the Small Couple stamp and then masked the couple and created a sun.  Next, I masked the sun and the couple and brayered  Spectrum Kaleidacolor ink over to create the sky.  Finally, I coloured in grass with my Prismacolor pencil crayons and OMS.  I think the Embossed Stickles technique accented this image beautifully.

I encourage you to join in on our weekly challenges.  If you don't have the CD, you can click the link above.  It is one of my favourite CD's, and I'm sure it will be yours too.

Technique of the Week: Embossed Stickles

Happy Monday - it's time for the Technique of the Week! Today we are celebrating a technique from the Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine CD: Embossed Stickles. Folks, this is such a cool, textural, sparkly technique - you will fall in love with it when you try it!

I wish I could have gotten a better picture of this -- between the texture in the background, the sparkle, and the mirrored sunglasses, a good shot was almost impossible. Hopefully you get the idea between the two pictures. Cool Texture...cool Sparkle. Great Technique!

Try this technique this week, and post it to the egroup or send it to me to post. I would love to see what you do! If you do not have the CD, it is still available. It has 45 tutorials on it, and is $14.95. It may be purchased on the sidebar, or HERE,

Go get Sparkly!

Holly Brown: Triangle Shaker Kitty Card

Hi folks!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this sweet Triangle Shaker Card that I made last week.  If you go to any of the trade shows where Technique Junkies will be a vendor, you can see this card in person along with TONS of other samples. When you pick it up, the tiny little beads inside the triangle roll around.  (You can see a list of upcoming shows on this page here.)

The Triangle Shaker Card technique is on the Fancy Folds and Motion CD (available here).  These adorable stamps are from My Cute Stamps - my mom gave these to me for Christmas and I just had to ink them up.  The dotted background stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Don't forget, this week's Technique of the Week is the Faux Paint Swatch technique from the current newsletter (April/May 2013).  Play along and share your artwork with us!  :-)

Chocolate Bar Card

From the Shape It CD.
I had to add the bite to the card. Chocolate doesn't stand a chance around me, LOL! The verse is from Club Stamp.  Remember you can purchase both the Shape It CD and the Move It CD together for only $17.95, or either CD may be purchased for $9.95. They can be purchased here.
There are literally hours and hours of fun on these 2 CD's.
Enjoy!

Floating Pop Up Card

 From the Move It CD!

What fun these cards are to make!!!! I pulled out quite a few of my old stamps to make this card, as I needed different balloons and while looking I found the adorable presents. Please excuse the acrylic blocks in the lower photo, I needed help to keep the card open while I was photographing the inside.

Getting back to the stamps, do you remember Suzy's Zoo? The stamp with all the critters on the front of the card is from Rubber Stampede. I also used stamps from; Posh Impressions, Copper Leaf Creations, Inkadinkado and the vertical Happy Birthday on the inside of the card is from Wordsworth.

I can see so many uses for this Floating Pop Up Card, from the silly to the sublime. Imagine a vintage sewing theme. The pop ups could be a sewing machine, thread spools, thimbles and sewing needles. That would be awesome. I can also envision a floral themed card with the pop ups being many different types of flowers, a watering can, garden gloves and garden tools. The possibilities are endless!!!

Give it a try won't you? I hope I have inspired you with my card example and all the things running around in my brain.
See you back here again real soon!

Technique of the Week

Hello, Beth Norman here with this week's Technique of the Week--Watered Crayons.  I couldn't resist creating a banner with this technique because banners are all the rage.  Watered Crayons is in our new April issue, so come on and shake the dust off those watercolor crayons--you won't be disappointed.

My stamp is from Stampin' Up!  I inked up the stamp with Tempting Turquoise and then pounced on some black with a sponge.   The dots on the scallops were created by using Liquid Pearls.

Stay tuned for some more samples of Watered Crayons from the Design Team coming up.  Don't forget to send your sample to us through our Yahoo group.

This week, our technique is:  Watered Crayons.  This fun technique produces interesting and versatile art pieces.  My piece, used as a background to highlight an awesom image from Rubbernecker Stamps, is the perfect splash of color to pull my card together.  Additional stamps used are from Impression Obsession and Amuse.

C'mon!!!  Join in the fun!
