Technique of The Week - Dylusions Resist

Hi Junkies,  Tricia here.  This is a card I did for my Mother's Day card for my girlfriend.  It uses this week's Try That Technique called "Dylusions Resist".  The image is from I Brake For Stamps colored with copics.  I used watercolors for the background.  The background stamp is from Stampin Up! It is one of my favorites.

I really love how quick and easy this technique is and how unique and beautiful each background is.  I love using Dylusions and this just adds to that.'

Won't you play along this week?  We love seeing all your creations.

Have a crafty Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

EDITED TO ADD:  I picked a winner by randomly picking a name out of a hat.  Congratulations, April Puzzuoli!!!!  Thanks to everyone who left a comment!  Keep on trying - ya never know if I'll post another card up for grabs!  :-)

Tie Dye Circles by Judy Jackson

It is no secret that the Technique Junkie Design Team gets to play with different techniques for the newsletter long before the subscribers receive the newsletter in their mailboxes.  I made two cards for the April-May  TJ newsletter using this technique.

At the time I made those cards, I thought I am not sure that I "love" this technique and these may be the only cards I make with this technique.  Has this ever happened to you?  You see an interesting technique and you think to yourself, "I need to give that a try," only you did not enjoy using that technique.  You may have even thought I won't do THAT again.  Well, whatever the technique was please consider giving it another go!  As I felt that way about this technique, and of course for this blog week I am assigned this technique - again.

So I just decided I was going to do my best!  Well, the second time was the charm!  I am so happy with these cards and with how the technique came out.  Perhaps I didn't utilize the most pleasing color choices the last time because I really love these cards!  And now I think I want to make a few cards with this technique.

Stamp credits for both cards are the same -- Lily of the Valley and Technique Junkie Rubber stamps. You can find the Simple Sentiments set on this web page - http://www.stampcamp.com/simplesentiments.html.

Have you tried this technique from the April-May TH newsletter?  If not, why don't you give it a try?

acrylic paint in coffee colors.
Then I stamped the steam on it.

The dots are done with a chocolate brown pearl pen.

TOTW Tie Dye Circles

Hi Everyone, It's Jackie K back again with the TOTW..Tie Dye Circles

This is a fast and fun technique that I really enjoy every time I do it. It amazes me that this technique works with almost every theme.
The stamps I used are both Technique Junkie stamps. I often turn to my favorite theme which you may have noticed is Asian.

Be creative!
See you back here soon!

Punched Border Flamingo

Today my granddaughters got to spend the evening with us while their parents went to the Blazer playoff game here in Portland.  I needed to make a card for the blog today so I enlisted their help.

They chose the image, then the colors and the border punch.  I colored the image and added the stenciling.  They helped color the prima flowers with the copic air brush system and voila! and darling bird-day card!  They are still busy down in the stamp hole coloring their own flamingos!

I hope you enjoy.  My favorite part is the stenciling.

ATC Fun

As my stamping took shape, I met the Technique Junkies- that was in 2004.  I joined in ATC swaps with other 'Junkies'. Not only do I have samples of many other artists work, I also get to see techniques IRL that I may not have had the time to try- OR- I get to see a technique in more than one sample.
Here is an ATC I made using the Pearly Gelato technique:
This is a portion of an image and a sentiment from Technique Junkies.

Here is this same ATC on a card:
It is always fun to look at images and see how they can be added to an ATC. One of my favorite Asian stamps at Technique Junkies is a background Geishas stamp.
Here I added the Geisha's separately- to background(s) of Pasted Delusions. These ATC's were the first to go in my local monthly exchange.

More pasted Delusions backgrounds with images from Lt-Rt: Firecracker Designs by Pamela (store closed), and the rooster  and sentiment are by SmARTworks (now closed), and the Owl is a pre-colored digital image from DeeDee digi's.

Would you like one of the rooster or theatre ATC's?  Just leave a comment below with a way for me to reach you and I will mail one to you!

We have an ATC swap sign-up right now at Technique Junkies- would you like to join in?  Just drop me a line @ Shellymc2 at Comcast.net

Have a great day!
