A Quick Thank you!

I'm just stopping by to share quick thank you card using on of this months New Release Stamps!

So let's take a look.....

Products Used: Vintage Floral Collage Stamp, Art Anthology Buttercream Sorbet, Art Anthology Bubbles Stencil, India Ink Pad,  Watercolor Pencils,  Pink Paislee cardstock.

I stared my stamping my Vintage Floral Collage Stamp using a India Ink Pad because I wanted to color with my watercolor pencils.

After my image was colored I added a bit of Art Anthology Sparkle through a stencil. 

After everything was dry I layered my image on a bit of Pink Paislee cardstock added a die cut from my silhouette. Finally to finish it I added just a touch of stitching.

And there you have it easy peasy, a sweet little thank you card!

Black Fajitas

{jane bosi}  I just read one of those "pick your name" thingys on Facebook--Name Your Band.  You arrive at your band name by noting the color of your pants and the last thing you ate.....LOL!!  Black Fajitas would be my band name and we would sing our heads off!

It made me think of this card I made with the last of my Gel Printing Plate paper---time to have more gel printing fun!  For this one, I stamped over the colorful background with the Barbed Wire stamp.  I added Free My Soul and a few sequins for a little shine...

Walking in the Rain

Hello, Stampers!  

It seems that weather has been following me around lately.  

A couple of weeks ago, the nice warm sun followed me from Southern California to Dallas, Texas.  This week, the pouring rain followed me from Northern California 

to back home in Southern California.

And, I love it all!

As soon as I saw this stamp,  SD668 Bring Your Own Sunshine, I knew I wanted the boots to be yellow and I wanted them to be shiny!

I stamped it with black ink onto white cardstock.

I stamped the boots again.  This time on yellow patterned paper, cut them out, and used foam tape to pop them up from the stamped image on white cardstock.  Once, that was done, I added Liquid Glass to the top of the rain boots to make them shiny.

For the umbrella, I stamped it onto the back of the patterned paper of my choice, cut it out and inked the edges with the black ink.  I used foam tape with the umbrella, as well, to make it pop up.

Good morning Junkies!  I stepped away from the color palette I normally used and went with something bright and cheerful.  I was in a contemplative sort of mind and when I saw the new Hydrangea Collage stamp, I knew it would be perfect.

I started by stamping the new Hydrangea Collage stamp in the middle of my page.  I then made sure my brush was very wet and using Art Anthology Colorations in Granny Smith, Patience, Glorious, Warm, and Wild Orchid mixed with water, began painting my image.  I then re-wet my brush and carried those colors around the edges of the image, adding Sandcastle Colorations to the top and bottom of the page,  I stamped Always Be There in black ink and then added some bright Prima Flowers.

So simple, yet I love looking at this page.  It just makes me smile and feel so upbeat.

Love Makes Life Complete

Today I am showcasing another new Technique Junkie stamp March release - SD664 Owls http://techniquejunkies.com/owls/. They are so cute!  I also used Technique Junkie stamps SDX 069 Love Complete - http://techniquejunkies.com/love-complete/.  This would make a nice anniversary card -- or if the right colors and background were used it could be a wedding card or a Valentine card.  

My background is done with various colors on a Gel Press plate.   http://techniquejunkies.com/3-x-5-gel-press-monoprinting-gel-plate/ And it comes in more than one size.  Add a ribbon and some brads and -- done!

Hello, Stampers!  Happy Wednesday, to you!

Robin Redd, here, with you today, sharing a card I made.

I started by stamping SD056 Van Gogh's Woman in a Checked Dress onto a cream cardstock and mounted it onto patterned paper, then onto a kraft envelope.

I smudged two different colored inks onto another piece of cream cardstock then stamped S303 Medium Porcelain Crackle randomly around.  To give it a more organic feel, I didn't use a block when using this stamp.

 Then I stamped the sentiment, "Cherish what makes you UNIQUE" from S546 Things I Want to Do onto, yet, another piece of cream cardstock, mounted it onto patterned paper, then onto a tag.

The tag in the kraft envelope makes for a little interactive card.

Shabby Chic Gift Bag-Stamping on Fabric

Hello Fellow Junkies,
Karen McAlpine here today!  I would like to share how I made this decorated gift bag.  I used one of the new Palettini Stamps from the March releases and stamped on fabric to create this shabby chic project.

Materials List:

Stamps: French Bicycle Collage from Technique Junkies

Ink: Black from Memories

Kraft Gift Bag (I used a bag 8" x 10.5")

CS: dark brown

White Muslin (100% cotton)

Vintage Doily

Brown Lace

Burlap Trim

Leather shoe lace

Sheer Brown Ribbon

Paper Flowers

Fabri-Tac Glue

Iron

Make It:
Note: use Fabri-Tac glue through out to adhere all pieces

• Tear or cut a piece of muslin fabric to desired size about 4.5" x 6"
• Iron the fabric to remove all the wrinkles
• Stamp the image on the fabric with the Memories ink---Note: this ink is good for fabric even though it is a dye ink.  
• Protect ironing board with a press cloth, lay stamped fabric down and cover with a press cloth and iron (no steam) 
• Pressing with the iron will heat set the ink.  I will not be washing this project obviously, but now the ink will not smear.

• Glue the fabric piece to dark brown CS--set aside
• Cut the corner off  a vintage doily.  Note:To keep the edges together, before cutting lay down a strip of tape in area where you want to cut; cut through the tape.  Now, each edge of the doily will not unravel.
• Glue doily to bag   
• Now add the stamped fabric piece

• Glue all the laces and trims to the bag
• Add the flowers and ribbon
• Tie lengths of brown sheer ribbon to the handle

Oh, just a fun way to add a little fabric to your projects.  Hope you enjoyed!! See you next time.
