Life is a Canvas!

Happy Thursday Junkies! Pam here today-from sunny and HOT South Carolina.  I wanted to share a fun and vibrant project I created using two fantastic TJ stamps that just seem like they were made to go together- Life is a Canvas and Wasted.

The Distress Paint resist technique was used for both cards-stamped with a rainbow assortment of Distress Paint colors.  For the first card, I accented each color with the coordinating Distress ink. For the second, I let the white cardstock shine through!

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine black ink over top and covered with clear embossing power to make it pop!

Thanks for joining me today and be sure to check back here- the TJ Junkies Design team blog as well as my blog for more fun projects featuring these fantastic stamps! Through this weekend today through Sunday- I will be featuring a different TJ stamp each day using a different technique! Be sure to check them out!

Dream Big!

Hello Stampin' Friends!

Robin here, today, with another fabulous stamp from Technique Junkies July release!
SD697_Dream_Big

Isn't this a fun stamp?!  I embossed it with white embossing powder onto a chalkboard print cardstock.

But, you could get the same chalkboard effect if you white embossed on plain black cardstock.

Smallest Step

Good morning Junkies!  Well, I'm back at it creating with index cards.  The are such a perfect sized canvas to work with.

For the background, I used the Pull Color Tutorial on CD #10 (April 2012).  The colors I chose were peach, sunflower, and blue.

Stamp Take The Step onto the center prepared card.  For a great impression, use the Misti so you can stamp until you reach the desired darkness (I like my stamping dark).  Using a ruler, add double black lines to both sides.  The outside line should be solid and the inside line should be dashed.  Next, add a white line in-between the black lines.  Using a stencil, add starbursts with Creamy Coffee chalk ink.

Until later...................

A little sympathy...

Greetings Inky Friends!

Today's card was done with one of the July New Releases called Something Will Grow
I just love the flower in this set and ended up carefully cutting
the sentiment away from the flower so I could use it
alone with other sentiments when I wanted. I chose With Sympathy for this card.

I created the background by blending Pan Pastels together and using the Cloud Piercing Die
which both can be found through Fun Stamper's Journey!

I was able to slightly bend the stem of the flower on my acrylic block
before stamping it several times in black ink.
I used a dark blue in for the sentiment and popped it up.

Until next time....

Happy Creating!

Van Gogh Woman on CAS Card

Hello Junkies,
Karen McAlpine here with you today to share a CAS project inspired by a fine art stamp.  And, alert, alert !!  You can pick up this whimsical stamp in the Spring Stamp Clearance for only $2!! (You will find some real bargains on beautiful stamps in this Clearance!!  I just had to pick up few myself!!)  And, don't forget to check out the July New Releases!!

Let's check out My fine art inspired CAS card!!

Materials List:
Stamps: Van Gogh's Woman in Checked Dress;  Waves and Dots Panel both from Technique Junkies
Ink: Teal Zeal Memento
CS: White and teal

Make It:

  • Make a card base from white CS
  • Stamp Waves and Dots Panel with Teal ink across the bottom half of card
  • Stamp Van Gogh's Woman on white CS with Teal ink
  • Add a layer of teal CS and add to card with dimensional adhesive

Very quick card but with really striking results.  When you have such a lovely stamp, you don't need lots of extras.  Great card for a special someone.  Of course, I love it in teal (seems to be one of my go to colors this year).  So glad you stop in today.  Hope you enjoyed my fine art inspired project.  See you next time.

Patriotic Lake Rules!

Hey Junkies!

The Crafty Nurse here with some inspiration from the July Technique Junkies release using the Cascading Images Tutorial from CD10 from April/May 2012.  I started by creating a mask for the anchor from the "Better at the Lake Set of 5 #22059" set and stamping in a cascade.  I watercolored the anchors with Distress Inks in Candied Apple Red and Faded Jeans, then stamped the card base with another July release stamp, "Rowboats #S712" also in Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  The focal image is also from the "Better at the Lake Set" embossed with white and blended with those same distress colors.

We sure hope you've had a chance to look at all the card from the July Release hop and stop by to take advantage of the 15% off this week on all July TJ Stamps.

I'll be back later this month for more inspiration by until then, Happy Stamping!!
