It takes a little Courage...

Greeting Inky Friends!!

I'm back with another card using 2 more of the August New Releases!

I used these 5 Distress Markers and scribbled all over a large 4x6 acrylic block.
I then spritzed that block with water blending the colors some and
dipping my piece of card stock onto the
acrylic block picking up the marker colors. Let dry.

I then inked up the background stamp in Cornflower Blue Archival Ink and
stamped onto my markered piece.

I stamped the sentiment and colored part of the word, layered it and popped it up with some wrapped twine behind it and I used a wooden star button that I colored with a gold pigment marker as an accent!

I love the southwest any ways so naturally was drawn to these stamps and color combinations! I can't wait to play more!

Until next time...

Happy Creating!

Perfect Pear

Kathy, The Crafty Nurse here today with more Technique Junkies inspiration using "Fanciful Fruit - Set of 2#SS057" from the August release.

The background is the result of playing with both the Minx and Art Anthology products. The Minx colors used was the white called "Immaculate" and the orange called, "Radiance"

The Art Anthology Sorbet I used was "Vegas Gold" which I ran through with a texture comb. I heat embossed the pear from "Fanciful Fruit" with Versafine Black Onyx Ink and clear powder.  I also spayed this cool pear with Gilded Gold Colorations and placed the whole thing over some torn mulberry.

Sure hope you find some time to get your fingers inky today and I'll see you later on this month for more junkie goodness.

See you then!

Keep Believing

Hello fellow stampers, Beth Norman here with a fun card using the Keep Believing stamp.  Isn't this sentiment so true?  I really love this stamp.

I hope you're staying cool.  In Ontario, Canada, we haven't seen rain in ages and the humidity is so bad.  Nice excuse to stamp away in the air conditioning.

Happy stamping!

Under the Sea

Happy Thursday Junkies! Pam here today to share with you a project from the sea!
I was working on a background technique I learned in Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry 103- Distress Spritzed Watercolor and once I finished I thought that the Seahorse stamp would be a perfect complement to the background.

After stamping the Seahorse in archival black ink- I watercolored with Distress Markers.

I love how the Seahorse just blends perfectly into the background. I was planning on adding a sentiment as well- but I really love the simplicity of this card front as is.
Thanks for joining me today and be sure to come back often!

Row, Row, and Row

I wrote about how meaningful this stamp is to me on my blog post on Saturday.  If you didn't read that blog post I would like to invite you to read that post.
http://judysstampart.blogspot.com/2016/08/can-you-row.html

I stamped this Technique Junkie stamp Row - http://techniquejunkies.com/row/   with black archival ink on white card stock. And then i trimmed the card stock to be sure that the horizon line extended the full width of the horizon on the top layer.  Then I used round sponge applicators to add the colors for the water and for the night sky.  I used a white pen to add the moon's reflection in the water - at least I hope that is what it looks like~   I layered it on black card stock.

Then I cut 2 pieces of background papers from my stash -- water and trees -- to create an illusion of the continued background and horizon line.   I adhered the focal image layers on the background papers so the horizon continued on the sides of the focal image.

I layered all of the above on black card stock and then on the blue base card.

Today is the LAST DAY to get the 15% off of the Technique Junkie August Release stamps!  Have you ordered yours yet?

Have a great day and get inky!
